Jung Hoseok is the ICON, is the PIONEER. He is legit the most versatile and boldest artist in Kpop, my guy just doesn't give the stereotype Kpop shit to his listeners! Unique, genius, creative, talented, and self-composed there is no way that I can emphasize enough that how incredible he is. He is the MOMENT. Period.

This is by all accounts a concept album. So if we are getting more songs like this from jhope I will cry. This was beyond anything I ever imagined from Hobi. Love it so so much.

the line 'i'm in my element' is actually a rough translation of what would directly be translated to 'i'm a fish in water' or 'i'm a fish that met water' and it just links the whole verse together so nicely with the water imagery ('yeah, i'm thirsty / i need to go surfin on the beat / i'm a fish in water / soak up the music') PLUS the dali/달리 and kitkat/kitto katsu wordplay .. i love hobi's lyricism so MUCH

J-Hope is so unique. I like how he surpasses any limit, I never know what I should expect from him and I like it. Dancer, producer, composer, rapper, singer, lyricist, and icon, ... He is a full package.

Yesterday he wrote ARMY a msg, that this album is going to be through and through about and on the thoughts of Jhope..like, thoughts and feelings of what makes jung hoseok, the Jhope from BTS. He said it’s going to be dark and gritty (and apologized for that, maybe he thought it is an emotional dump on us BUT I WANT ALL OF IT AND HE BETTER NOT BE SORRY FOR ANY OF THESE EMOTIONS) . I think his Jack can be similar to the King in Yoongi’s Daechwita or the Patient in Joon’s Joke.

As a Linkin Park fan, and a Hobi bias, this is so satisfying to watch, the first time i saw this MV, I immediately remember Linkin Park, because of the beat and rapping of Mike Shinoda. J-Hope gives us different vibe and this is beyond K-Pop now. I love knowing J-Hope's musicality even more cause who would've thought that He is into Hiphop Rock. 🤯

This song filled-song finds j-hope flirting with a darker, edgier, sounds that alternative rock hooks with hip-hop beats (cite fro Rolling Stone). The track's message itself shown how much j-hope has grown so much as the all rounder artist (Dancer, Rapper, Singer Producer, Songwriter, Composer, and Dance Mentor). He's really breaking the mold, exploring and blending more than two genres into on MASTERPIECE.
Hoseok’s lyrics about KitKat referring to a success so sure + sweet with wordplay in Japanese is very interesting because though he referred to one, globally theres tons of cultures where folks eat sweet things BEFORE doing something major (first day of school / job, exams etc).
Reminds me of that one twt of Hoseok in 2015 where he said "I'll study hard and give you good music!!!!" I feel like crying bcz I'm beyond proud... And yeah guys stream the song on all the platforms, he deserves MORE

Jhope is no longer a street dancer, but he is the hardest workman in his jumpsuits.
He seems to want to express behind the dark society that constantly copies idols in the box.
Even though he has to live as a clown and zombie constantly to become an idol of many people, he still feels thirsty to see more more more fans he can breathe in and out of what he feels is alive.

Love this song, J-Hope is killer, he is a freaking amazing artist (and dancer, don’t forget that, he’s an amazing dancer and you can hear it in his music). Us metal-head/grunge-rock lovers are so so happy rn, and I am so so lucky to be able to see this at Lolla this year! Can’t wait for the rest of the album. Two things - this is Grammy material, it’s such a unique blend of rap and rock, top level, and the MV is lit, fight me; and what if when BTS come back together, they actually do some music with more of this style? Honestly, I don’t understand why they haven’t done it already. They have a few, and they have never been just K-pop, but have been more of an experimental band, and they certainly have the chops, skills, etc to do it. I know some people think Jimin, Jin, and maybe V couldn’t do it, but they can. If you go back and look at what they did early years, they can go just as hard. When I think what those 7 talented artists could do with grunge rock I get a bit giddy.
You're so lucky to get and see him live at Hobipalooza!!! As for the Grammy's they will never recognize the talent he has,. they might nominate him for the cred and views, but actually give him a Grammy I don't see that happening...
I agree so much that MORE is grammy material. The very unique combination of punk rock, rap, and hip-hop old school. This is so innovative. Not mentioning the high-quality production, his top-notch lyricism and his performance too.
But for your last paragraph, singing such a style is not solely based on "yeah their voice may fit so they can do it" I don't think anyone in BTS can go solo and pull such a style off. Hoseok has its aura and versatility and is always out of his comfort zone. Actually, this style is freaking risky, It's not the cliche of Kpop so Korean won't like it. I don't know if you know it or not but Karmys have already banned it from streaming just because they don't like rock and any new genre in Kpop, as stu*id as that. When their main fanbase is this narrow mind, you can't expect that much anymore. Only Hoseok has the guts to go against it all, just like when he said in his Festa interview "I wanna go opposite of flow with this album" I didn't quite get his point then, but now I understand. This guy is just on a different level.

I love that you noticed the rolling sound of the alarm, it comes in at such a perfect part! You should look up the lyrics of "I'm in my element" (the actual translation of the line), the KitKat line (it's a play on a Japanese word) and the Dali line (dali sounds like a Korean word) all really fun word plays in this song I love it! Also the album is called Jack in the Box, the song is called More, and there are some light cinematic parallels to Fight Club (with the protagonist Jack Moore). ;) Loved the reaction! Somehow, I had a feeling that you would love it. As much as you said you enjoy hard rock and metal (so do I, btw), and based on your reaction to Dionysus, I thought you would definitely have a positive reaction to this. Holy shit....J-hope surprised everyone and revolutionized the k-pop industry, in a few words he showed how eclectic and professional he is, now more than ever, because he can show what he knows how to do without being tied to restrictions of a contract and that is why he is thirsty for music in the universal sense, and that prizes are not worth more than doing what you love and being able to breathe and shout that "The best is yet to come". Many won't understand what to be between the lines because they are melodic fans who only expect luxurious mv's and in the 'standard' k-pop, but they are not just that, they are much more than just BTS members, they are human beings with different visions and refined tastes and that's why they can't be stuck to a single rhythm, they are pop, rock, jazzz, react, r&b etc..... your face when the chorus dropped was priceless. i am so happy you loved this song. i immediately knew you would when i heard it. thank you for loving bts. also, the way you dinked your mug on your mic was really cute lmao that was funny. thank you for appreciating bts and the members individually as people and artists. i love watching people discover all the ways bts expresses themselves through their art, their passion. i grew up on linkin park, too. i loved evanescence, breaking benjamin, a day to remember, bring me the horizon, crown the empire, and my ultimate favorite was three days grace. that kind of music really was the heart of me. i always seem to find the kind music when i need it most. emo rock was there for me when i needed it most. it helped me be who i am today just by existing, by keeping me company. i go through a lot of music phases, and i never ever really leave them. i still love that music. bts is at the forefront of my heart, and has been since 2016. they've brought happiness and excitement to my life. their music, their lyrics, their personalities and the message they send, has truly changed my life. i struggle with a lot and when i tell you that everything they do brightens that spark within me. music is everything to me. and i found bts when i needed them and they continue to push me forward. namjoon once said to use him, to use bts to be happy. if nothing else, music is my happy place. all of that being said, hearing hobi fuse these genres, this grungy rock rap. it's like both my past self and current self have come full circle. it happened when jeongguk covered "falling" by harry styles. i used to be the biggest one direction fan. they were another group that i found when i needed them. and to have those worlds collide was so special to me. music brings people together, and it connects people emotionally and makes us feel less alone. like we don't have to go through all of this alone. there are days when i can't even bring myself to get out of bed, but i remember that i have to keep going. if not for me, then for the people that i love, for the things that i love. my family, my dog, music. i think it's okay to think like that. i know this comment became very long, and i didn't mean it to be. but i could honestly write an entire book about what music means to me and what certain artists, specifically bts, mean to me. jhope dropping this song is like a breath of fresh air. i am invigorated, i am motivated, i am happy. it's amazing to see his hard work and efforts pay off so well. i am so proud of him. i can't wait for the full album. i know that i will love it. thank you, anthony, for saying such nice things about jhope and bts. i'm glad i started watching your reactions.

Hobi brought us --- Rock vibes! It was very interesting bcoz we don't see any glimpse of BTS vibes like being "sweet & wholesome" which really intentionally done to take us away from the shadow that he's from "BTS". I'm so happy that they get to have a solo projects and showcase the different side of them yes we get to see that on their mixtapes but it's really different that they get a chance to explore more without compromising the task within the group.

I feel like the Box he’s referring to is how the industry puts him (an idol in K-pop industry ) in a box , and when they twist/work him too much, his persona comes out. I was born in 88, so this was my pre-teen / teenage angst days!!!... If you look at The Offspring "the kids arent alright", Eminem & Dr.Dre "guilty conscience"... The video reminds me of that... Along with Green Day, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance vibes!!!.... All he was missing is the black eyeliner.. I have a feeling the album will have songs across many genres, a jack of all trades, when it comes to music... Jack in the box, because he was boxed in by the bands image.. He's not Hobi now, he is Ho-Seok!!

I was the same way, I wasn't sure either if I liked to chorus but im coming around. I've listened to the song probably over 20 times now and with each listen coming to appreciate it for what it is . I am now beginning to love the song. I feel bad I didn't like parts of it at first but the more I listened to it the more its grown on me , so I can admit that I may of been to harsh with my first listen of the song.

I freaking love this track. It's not something you would expect but boy does it deliver. Hobie for me has always been the most underrated and underused BTS member he just sits there in the background. This is him showing you he is more than others label him. Hobie has been my favourite from the start and it has never changed. ILOVE THIS SONG

Hobi is my bias and though I know he was the designated happy guy of BTS cause that’s what music companies do in Korea, as in RM as the brainiac, Suga the depressed one, the cute ones, the one who can do everything, etc; I have watched Hobi through the years, since 2016, I could see that he had so much to offer. You could see his latent potential bottled up, er, boxed up, I’m relieved he now has the chance to break through. He has great ideas, look what he did to Chicken Noodle Soup, an old song that didn’t even make one hit wonder status, he made it current and cool, brought in Becky G and made it a trilingual success. Watch this guy, he’s freakin’ amazing. Can’t wait till the album comes out!!!!
