Super excited to finally have a painted army! I just need to start doing all my painting as 'challenges'. Turns out, I'll actually paint stuff that way!
Just so you know there are far less toxic water soluble oil paints you can use instead, I know about it for traditional painting so I imagine it might work for model painting as well. I enjoy what I’ve used of them so you might want to check it out sometime if you wanna do that technique again
Another choice instead of coffee is coconut mulch. The high density stuff is the best. It's like a brick and then add water. It expands in a couple hours and you can even blend it to get fine earth.
I am so happy for you and your army, it looks amazing! That oil wash, man that added a lot! Also happy for your appendix, I have never been so relieved to see a :( turn into a :) so that was a fun piece of editing 😄
i know the 24 hour challenge was a motivator, but would really have liked to see you just paint some minis, taking as much time as you need to get it to what you want it to be.
Health comes first, never forget that, NEVER! That undead army ironically seems very lively (in the best of ways), you outdid yourself, this looks gorgeous!
I’ve always loved your dice videos, but 3D printing and minis is 100% what I’m into right now. Keep up the good work! Definitely would like to see more proxy armies and painting
Oh man Rybo...now I have to dive into my boxes, find my miniatures and get them all done, you got me really inspired. You did an awesome job on your army and I love the effects of your black wash. P.s. got a good laugh from your mishap with the coffee crystals. Been there too. Done that too but needed someone else pointing it out, why it happened.
That Army looks fantastic, the gold accents pop so well. I’m glad you got through the health scare and that you’re doing better! Taking care of yourself is the most important thing.
I love this. This is what the hobby is about. Some one sees a good idea, they try, it they post their progress, results and growth in skill and confidence. This is what it's about.
Man, great job! Those guys look super menacing, I love the look you achieved. Big respect for getting it done in such a short time frame. I'd hardly get 1/10th of what you managed painted that quickly! Very inspirational for finishing on my own unpainted minis, and I'm really glad that you're happy with your new army. Thanks for sharing :)))
I purposely chose an army that I could paint large amounts of similarly, and quickly honestly haha. But I still love them, and am glad they turned out well. Glad you liked them too! :)
This is the stuff I love to see! So many people out there with grey armies or unpainted minis in their board games are very intimated. Sometimes you just need to forget about making everything look perfect and challenge yourself to do it rather quickly. I think most people would be surprised how good a speed painted miniature can look!
The tip of your needle is bent, take it out and you can either straighten it out or sand it down, should shoot straight after you do that, also airbrush paint needs to be quite thin, get some airbrush thinner and put that in the airbrush first then put paint in :)
@@Rybonatorhmm check for a bent tip again, its the only thing ive came across that makes it spray at weird angles If you get the paint right you could live with the angle i suppose - putting thinner in first stops clogs most of the time :) good luck!
Absolutely beautiful job! One thing for future reference though, I would be a little more cautious with mineral spirits in future projects. They can be fairly toxic, volatile, and irritating to the skin (but do lead to undeniably beautiful results). Keep up the great work, and stay healthy!
They look really good outside of one issue and that is you painted the flames in reverse. The hotter parts closer to the source would be the brighter colors with red at the very edges.
Awesome work, they look great, especially given the 24 hour limit. I love my Nighthaunt, fun to paint (gone for a more blue/green scheme on snowy bases for mine, though Lady O got a slightly more special grimdark paint job). Great video and very glad to hear that the mid-challenge hospital trip was nothing serious. Fingers crossed you can sort the airbrush issue out.
I just thought of an idea for your dice series I am a backyard mechanic but I have started making my own dice and wanted your opinion on how you could go about incorporating used engine oil into resin or even if you could considering it's a petroleum product
I don't know of you already know but sophie and toffee made new dice mold ( mini and regular size 7 dice set ) and a d20 chonk die ( 55 mm ) if you want review them !
These are so good! The amount of gold is perfect 😉 Well done in such a short time span. Hope you're all good after your hospital emergency, and good luck getting your airbrush fixed.
I like to think that if I saw this army without knowing it was a 24 hour speed paint I would say, "cool paint job, its a little quirky though" Thats when Rybonator would say, "I challenged myself to paint them all in 24 hours" To which I would reply, " Holy crap, thats cool"
A satin/gloss coat is much better to get the gradient you want. I would personally have the wash allitle thicker, wait until it looks dry (45 mins to 1 hour) then with large makeup sponges (latex are best) wipe.
Challenges are a good way to get extra motivation, but if anything, hope all of the health issues got solved with no issue, I wouldn't mind if you have to take some time off because of it, rather know you are well.
24 hours spread is more logical because stuff needs to dry. A 24 hours challenge may end up in a 12 hour watching paint dry challenge They look sick tho
True, luckily it's a super hot texas summer here, so most of my paints dried really fast for the first part and I could just keep going. But I agree, it's more productive to spread it out
Might not be first, but this is just in time! Me and Amber just started painting our first miniatures! We can watch this while we paint. They look good though!
@@Rybonator awe, well hi Rybowife! Amber said that that was the best thing that has happened all day (despite her just getting a ride in the helicopter where I work)!
Please, make a chess dice set, with a little chess piece inside each one. In fact, make two dice sets, one with black pieces and one with white pieces.
If U actually wanna get the blackest Black, get "musou black" it's strange to look at, it absorbs almost all light that hits it and U can't even see the corners... Not sure how it looks in resin tho
I have a quite the growing collection of minis I've 3D printed and this gives me confidence to start finally painting them. Love how these turned out and love your videos!
Go check out underrated youtube Straight From The Pot, it's a (exactly as it sounds) painting series on fast, simple paintjobs that anyone can pull off. I first saw the flame painting thing there. I think a lot of people over-do the drab/realistic style, i like me some comic book colors and he delivers on that!! I like this paintjob as a nice middle ground between drab, comic book, over-detailed and under-detailed. Loved the video, and it sounds like you enjoyed making it :)

If that's something people want I can do it, but I promise I am nowhere near as good as goobertown, miniac etc. Those dudes are on another level
@@Rybonator Skill comes with practice! Just like with your dice making, it would be really cool to see your journey along the way. Mistakes and all!

I know right! I was so worried when Rybo wasn't wearing gloves and some splashed on his bare skin
Could you make a video showing any alternative peices of equipment used for making dice, especially respirators
Really fun challenge mate, I will have to try this some day. Fantastic looking army

oooh man, those minis are crazy good. Fantastic Job
Spooky Ghosts? I can understand why.

Will you consider doing a 9th Age or King's of War army paint challenge?

Hey nice video! Just a little question, what type of glue do you use for your mini to stick on their base?
More!! This was cool!
Glad to hear you're feeling better!
And idea for "Will it Roll Wednesday".... How well does a Rybonator roll? Or a Twintig? :P
I'll just have my wife chuck me at the table haha

It did look really good before the wash too tbh
2 different armies I guess. But yeah I did like the clean look a lot too :)
I was wondering what would be a good pressure pot brand for beginners
Where did u get the mini holder foe painting?
It's a citadel mini holder, got it at my local game store, but if you look up citadel mini painting tools you'll find it :)
for using coffee grounds in the base, is there a risk of it decomposing over time?
Sorry to hear about your health situation, well wishes for you!
