Well from people who knew her say she wasn't a shy or a delicate person. She smoked like many people from NC, she drank some, and cussed like a sailor, but she was also very nice and very loyal and very down to earth. She died at age 67, and had 2 strokes from the drinking and smoking, my guess. I recently visited her grave in Smithfield NC, nit far from I 95. Her grave had fresh flowers and one other person was there when I arrived. She herself didn't think she was a good actress, but in my view and many others, thought she was a very good actress.

I read it and it contains his recounting of an interview with Ava Gardner, as well as Streisand and numerous others. Ava's was an amusing interview and contains Ava's supposed comment on Sinatra's marriage to Mia Farrow: "I always knew Frank would end up in bed with a boy." It might still be in your local library.

I can watch these "Mystery Challenger" segments every day. The stars were REAL stars, dominant in a way that the stars of today's fractured media could never be. The panel are curteous, knowledgeable, and respectful, and everyone on the show simply oozes class and good breeding.
