Mine is rusting too. Saw a guy used an orbital sander to clean the surface, used a weed burner to heat the table to a little over 100 F and used Johnson Paste was to protect the surface. Supposedly doesn’t affect the grounding on the table either.

Awesome table Jimbo! For those who feel the cost is too high to justify, check out their Pro table line. More affordable for the weekend warriors...love mine. Just got my Tig Torch holder from Jimbo, great addition to a weld table!

Hit that table with Ospho to treat the rust and call it a day. It will look great and be protected. Great video, love your work and teaching style.

Jimbo not sure if you thought about this or if it would be a pain to do but hang your grinders from the inside the holder that they are currently hanging from. You would have to reach under to hang them but would definitely be out of the way and with the grinder body on the inside would be less chance for slag to drop on them or getting hit by an object. Just a thought.

How have I had this table soooooo much longer than you and youre additions are so much better than mine?!?!?! Now I have to go back to change a bunch of things. Why didnt prewire outlets? Dust tray,,,, of course!
Jimbo has the King of their tables. For hacks like me, they have plenty of options with pro top and fab blocks.
    Great reviews as always Jimbo

    Jumbo,
Great functional additions, love the suspension swing seat.
Only concern is the power points, with outlets on the bench. If the live cable becomes exposed, the bench can potentially become live.

"SHARKHIDE" A little pricey but might be worth it for bench or other stuff to protect from rusting . "Ospho" is great for stopping rust and prepares for painting.

Hi Jim I have the same table. Have you thought about proper adjustable feet, rather than just bolt heads damaging the floor, make a screw thread with flat plate on the floor it works much better and more stable. Cheers Love your channel.

Sharkhide. Check it out on amazon. It expensive but its used in marine applications to preserve metals from rust and oxidation. It soaks into the steel and seals it from moisture etc. Good stuff well worth the investment to protect your investment.

There is a product out called Gibbs oil, I use it all the time in my shop on bare sheet metal bare metal car parts sit for months without flashing if an area does flash after it gets rubbed off simply spray some on a rag and rub the surface and the rust is gone and recoated

IMO WD40 is a good cleaner but not a good rust preventative. I'll usually clean my table with WD40, then acetone to remove the oils, then coat it with Johnson wax.

    Hey Jimbo
I'm trying to locate the same 5' x 10' certiflat table from weldingtables.com but cant find it. When i reached out the them they said they don't make them that large. Did you work a special deal with them? do you remember the approx cost of the unit?
    Thanks

2:40 - yup, your last build was your last draft - always going to be something you'd do a little differently. I call them BAD decisions - Best Available Data - they're the best you could do at the time, learn and move on, don't dwell on it.
