That's a Surf Smelt,... dumbest fish in the sea,.. they bite bare hooks 🤣 BTW,.. you're more likely to snag fishing with bait ....you got snagged on a big clump of seaweed caught in the current,... been fishing that beach all my life ...I'm in my 60's now and I still fish for Stripers with high tech old school gear meaning 12' conventional heavers and abu garcia 10000c reels, 65lb. braid, 50ft mono shock leader... slinging 3 to 5 Oz. Bucktail w/pig strip This set up gets me 150 yard casts and snags don't mean doo doo. 🤣 Here's a tip when casting lures .... use a shock leader long enough to wrap your spool 3 to 5 times and 3 to 4 ft past the rod tip..... braid has no stretch whatsoever,.. the mono is the buffer and mono won't slice your finger off..... use the FG knot for braid to mono ... Good luck to ya 🤙😎👍
You said they were good eating do you know if the smaller one better tasting than the big ones? Like the striper over like 35 in. The meat is kinda not as good as the smaller one. I don't know of you know what I mean
@KnightOfZero117 I would prefer the larger ones such as the size in this video. They have way more meat and the meat is more firm. The more meat there is, the easier it is to manipulate to filet them. As for taste, I have not noticed any difference. I just prefer bigger nugget/filets
@dahookmob aaaaah good to know. I did plan on purchasing that someday but now I'm considering lol In this video I'm rocking the Penn Fierce 3, and the Kastking Megatron. Both work great!
First spot ocean beach. Second spot is known as the tubes. Major Striper spot. It’s off the 101 south (sierra point exit). Sierra point parkway is the street, it’s the little parking lot after the first stop sign. If you pass that spot on the same road, it’ll take you to sierra point pier. If you have your license (fishing) stay off the pier and fish the rocks.
@jesusmadrigal2680 I'm curious, where does it say that? I've come to the Bay and met with countless people who also 2 pole and a handful of DFW and they never had issues.

Bro how are you
Trying to fill my happiness back up lol 😆 just taking it day by day
You can only have one rod in the bay even if you have the two pole license .

@@heavyhitterfisher San Fran and I think San Pablo
@jesusmadrigal2680 aaah yes, I'm familiar with that. Fortunately enough, I choose when and where to use the 2nd pole license accordingly. Thank you!
this is true, except for piers you can have 2 lines in the water and no license needed on public piers
It’s only within the bay limits all the way down to south bay. Coast/surf is where two rod card applies.
Where is this at bro ? I’m by the bay
DM me on IG bro, we can link up someday
Where is that second spot ? I gots no insta 🫡
