Does it happen when the bike is hot and you stop for a short period like stopping for fuel ? If so when you go to start it just open the throttle a bit before you hit the starter and it’ll start without fail. It says to do this in the manual under starting procedure. My bike did this once so i always open the throttle when starting the bike when its hot and its never done it again
I added this reply to a previous video but I wanted to give others what I’ve run into. The dealer told me to put 93 in it. Which I thought it had. Prefilled from dealer. Ran through the tank and refilled with 93. I no longer have this starting issue. Starts every time, no binding like issues. Hope this helps someone. If your filling with 93 and still have this binding issue maybe try a different station, not all pumps are created equal.
Ok Tested a few things on my Gen 3: 1- I added octane booster and it eliminated the issue 99%. Before, it had this issue at least 50% of starts but almost always when hot. Octane issue. If I’m looking at this I’ve got this problem! This started three days ago on a 2023 at 4500kms. Put the side down from stanfding stop, in first gear to bring it to a stop in gear in a hill which I never do. Then it didn’t want to start. Went through about three cycles, feels like a fired battery at first, and then turned the whole thing off and left it for about a minute and it started up fine. It’s happened twice since then always hot for example leaving petrol station.😢

Never happened again. Mentioned it to the dealer. They don’t know what it could be. Maybe I didn’t let the bike do It’s pre start routine fully.

They were able to duplicate. Suzuki remapped the fuel. Didnt fix completely, but running much better with fewer probmatic starts. Another problem to be aware of. When starting in cold weather (40f) it starts and runs like its missing 2 cyl. Took it to the dealership. They cleaned the throttle bodies and resync. No more problems with that issue. Still waiting for an update to the starting issue. If you dont take it to the dealership, Suzuki wont know how bad the problem is. All my work was under warranty. No cost to me. Be safe boys. ✌️

Have u figured out what the problem is? Thanks again
I think your on to something, with the electronic control. I personally don’t care for the auto crank feature of this bike. I wish it gave me control not just blindly cranked away. Most cars with this feature have a safety built in that cancels crank it the amperage pull is to high. Either way one thing that I have found to “fix” the crank issue is to cycle the key. If I just hit the kill switch and try again it will do it over and over. I’ve had significantly greatly luck cycling the key and starting over. But my only hang up is the voltage drop at the battery when it’s doing it. It’s a lot. I’ve never seen a relay pull down a battery, unless it’s dead shorted and when that happens the smoke shows you were the issues at. So the only thing left that can pull huge amperage and not let out the magic smoke would be the starter itself. But that does automatically mean the starters bad, just means it’s mechanically working hard. I really appreciate you touching on this subject and tearing apart your bike to look. That cover you pointed at on the left side is the gear reduction and I’ve seen gen 2 guys with the support shaft that holds the idler gear in the cover had the machining a touch excessive which was causing the gear to pitch and slightly bind. I tell you what, if that’s the case that’s a big problem. That’s machined into the block. I’m really grasping at straws here but your right once the bikes started it’s really quite fun. Man I really appreciate you and your willingness to take this on personally. Even if this doesn’t pan out and the bike goes away you still got a sub for life.
Thank you so very much, low fans like you is what makes a small channel like this great. I'd much rather have what I have now with viewers like you who engage with me then have what like yummy noob has where it's just mostly trolling. You guys are the best!! I don't mind working on this, lol I'm too stubborn to walk away. 😆 I appreciate a good puzzle. I will test the battery draw this week as well, thanks for the Insight on that with your bike.
Not positive but I am pretty certain it's happened to me after the flash. My intuition is that it's something in the electrical flow/command chart. ECU has two conflicting commands. Doesn't feel mechanical. Pain in the ass with cars behind you at a green light, but on the other hand I don't really stall the bike anymore...
So you have a flashed ecu, but can't remember the last time it happened. That's a good sign my friend, it seems like flashing the ECU might mitigate the problem. Thanks for the information, it helps more than you know.
Hello friend, Suzuki has stated they know this is a widespread issue. Also heard a ECU update is coming down the pipes. If Suzuki does push this update, you might want to check with your tuner and make sure it won't hurt your flash.
Gen 1 & 2 hot start issues were due to "gummed -up" gears, where the starter connects to the crank, correct? Is that not the issue with yours? Just when the weather is getting nice here in Houston 😢
That is definitely an avenue in which I've been looking at, But like I said in my video, it's too inconsistent to be a mechanical issue like that. The gen one and Gen 2's when they had the starter gear issue It was very consistent. We will get to the bottom of this soon. As for my bike, it's ready to go baby. We should hook up and ride soon.
What I've come to realize about the starting issue or how I circumvent it. I always turn the bike off with the key and turn the key back on it reboots the system before every start that way. Since I started this practice I have not had that problem again. I hope this helps, now I had a man reach out to me who owns a race shop. He said every bike he has flashed the ecu, no longer has this issue. Turning the bike off by the key, Every time always seems to fix the problem for me so I can save that money. Hope this works for you too
@@BusaDepotin my situation the starting engine issue shows only when it’s on the first gear and taking off my hand from the clutch by mistake.. it’s only started working after waiting for a minute-ish.
@@MohammedAlzawri Ok so if you go to start your bike and it's in gear with the kickstand up, for any reason your hand releases the clutch what so ever. The bike will kill the starting process and go into safe mode (for safety). I've found that you can wait out the safe mode, which is like 20-30 seconds. Or turn off the key and then power the system back on. I hope this helps
Most of us have an aren’t getting anywhere. Like he said, you take it to the dealer and they can’t reproduce it so it gets a clean bill of health and off you go.
Was sup my friend, I did take it to the dealership but they were unable to recreate the problem. As you know, they can't fix what isn't broken. It's so random and so far between I mean it's only happened to me twice. But others out there are experiencing it on a regular basis. With any new model it's going to take them time to work the bugs out but I have faith this will get all sorted out in time. Thank you for jumping in, I really appreciate it!.

Hello friend, Suzuki has stated they know this is a widespread issue. Also heard a ECU update is coming down the pipes. If Suzuki does push this update, you might want to check with your tuner and make sure it won't hurt your flash.
Question for gen 3 busa owners:
When I get on it and hit 2nd gear, it bigs power bad then reengages. Why? LF set at 2
TC set at 6.
What setting is your quick shifter set too?
@@BusaDepot it’s set to the race or sport one not the easy one
Gen 1 & 2 hot start issues were due to "gummed -up" gears, where the starter connects to the crank, correct?
Is that not the issue with yours?
Just when the weather is getting nice here in Houston 😢
That is definitely an avenue in which I've been looking at, But like I said in my video, it's too inconsistent to be a mechanical issue like that. The gen one and Gen 2's when they had the starter gear issue It was very consistent. We will get to the bottom of this soon. As for my bike, it's ready to go baby. We should hook up and ride soon.
Thank you for your video..
Is there any solution for this issue?
@user-xq5xo4tf4h I believe that @anarki is right on this. Let me know if it works for you
that definitely was a lot of work to tear it down like that.....why didn't you bring it to the dealership service center and let them figure it out?
Most of us have an aren’t getting anywhere. Like he said, you take it to the dealer and they can’t reproduce it so it gets a clean bill of health and off you go.
Was sup my friend, I did take it to the dealership but they were unable to recreate the problem. As you know, they can't fix what isn't broken. It's so random and so far between I mean it's only happened to me twice. But others out there are experiencing it on a regular basis. With any new model it's going to take them time to work the bugs out but I have faith this will get all sorted out in time. Thank you for jumping in, I really appreciate it!.
@@BusaDepot yes, I should have waited until the end of your video as I noticed that you did say you attempted to get the dealer involved. Fortunately I haven’t had any of those issues and hope I don’t. These are the type of issues you would expect a Harley to have, not Suzuki or most of the other imports.
I agree with you, my Harleys did stuff like this. But I'm getting word that Suzuki is working on this and should be pushing a ECU update sometime in the near future. Lets just hope this comes into fruition.
