    Yes the variety is good thanks, I used to have a standard CZ1 Colt lovely little car the engine was described as turbine smooth in an review I read before buying it back in 2013 & it was fault free for 6 years until it got damp in the dash console & the cluster went haywire possibly a soldered joint that needed re-doing ended up selling it - nearly fell of my chair when you said £500 for the part but I think you will find one given a bit of time & easily double your money I would think.....I did get a bit lost when Chris explained how he tested it but that's my being a bit thick to be honest

    This reminds me of last year, 2020, me and my ex partners dad went halves on a 2008 VW Golf Match Diesel and the guy was selling it as it had a gear linkage relay lever problem and a cracked windscreen, original price of £650 but we got it for £450, took it to VW who charged £113 to get the new gear linkage relay installed and £70 to get it transported to the garage. After we had it repaired, we cleaned it ourselves and advertised it for £2000, we had loads of interest and got the full asking price for it. Very clean MOT with the last three MOT’s with no advisories, a tonne of paperwork and just over 169,000 miles which was pretty much all motorway mileage. Cracking car and was a good moneymaker

    You guys bring back so many memories when you visit Kent autos. In my teens I spent many a day in scrap yards, this was in the days of scrapyards being just a load of cars stacked four high and having to climb up and get your own parts. If I had to do an unfamiliar job on my car I would go and do it on a scrap car first to see how it was done.I was once bitten by a scrap yard dog and used this to chip him on trhe price of the bits. Keep up the great content you two. Take care.

    I wondered if the osf door had been replaced at some stage as there is writing on the door panel ... you don't normally get writing on a panel which sort of indicates that the door and operating controls inside the door have been damaged and a second hand door has been sourced. I reckon the motor in the door was broken at the same time and it wasn't replaced, which is why there was a piece of wood holding up the window... I don't think the accident was reported as it was an older person involved and might have affected his driving or his insurance

    • @DustyCustard
      @DustyCustard 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wondered the same thing about the writing on the inside of the door. What did it even say? 'Blu...' something or other?

    Thanks for another great video, It's good to see and hear more of Chris now he's warming up to the camera. Don't throw that chunk of wood out you might need that if you buy a car to rob the parts from L.O.L. I guess the other thing is there may not be many of them around if that parts 500 quid, maybe you got a get out of jail with a profit card selling it to somebody else that maybe needing other parts for theirs. Take care guys.

    I had a Z30 colt when new (fleet car thankfully), got a 1.5 diesel semi auto, would have got a czc but no automatic option. Needless to say the transmission was the biggest problem as it stopped going into reverse, dealers were rubbish didn't get fixed and I gave it back to fleet and have had Skoda and VWs ever since, got to love a good independent specialists as an owner.

    I got one of these Colts for my girlfriend a few years back as a first car. Great little cars but because the window drops as you pull the handle it gets a hell of a lot of wear on it. The runner eventually fell off it and the window nearly dropped and smashed. I think I chucked some cable ties and sealant down there before we traded it in 👍

    The pick up was a real nice summer night
    You are making the right choice with not painting
    I do my own painting and it’s not just the paint you have to buy it’s all the incidentals that you need which all add up to the cost
    And your painter gives you such good pricing and does such a good job
    I only paint because it is so expensive here to get small jobs done
    That is a very very nice little car and it’s a Mitsubishi, my favourite 👍👍👍

    Hi Rob i have the 1.1 version of this car they are the most reliable cars on Earth , seriously Timing Chain Engine on it , mine i paid £600 for and it now had 115 thousand on the clock starts every time but they are not worth a lot , mine is a 2007 version only can get offers of £350 for it even though it has MOT to Feb 2022 and has 4 good tyres on it , the only thing is the clutch is starting to judder a bit and the brakes will need changing but if i spend the £600 to get a new clutch and brake pads/discs on it then it will last another 5 years no problem , so i may just keep it if that E10 rubbish dont kill it lol

    It is a nice little car, but a shame that the bits you fetched could not tie it back together again. Well done to Chris for getting to the bottom of its troubles, but a challenge to find the bits at the right price. Still I guess you can set it aside and wait until the right price item comes available, convertibles sell better on the promise of spring than in the autumn. For the price you paid, it has some margin left for you to deal with its issue.
