15:27: "It will make it not work, if I read it properly" - correct 20:50: the relic that deals damage each time an unit heals, does gets triggered by lifesteal Over all the run was pretty cursed, with only good hitter being gorge reliant, but no source of good morsels (shadesplitter just gives the +1 ember half of the time), and no regen to put on the spike tank
@@Northernlion i think you should use the +8 atk on the robot cause he have multi strike 3 that 24 dam increase per buff since you got damage shield alr
Daily Monster Train advice nobody asked for (Day 6): Razorsharp Edge actually decreases the maximum HP of a unit, not it's current HP. If you were to cast it on a 25 HP unit which only has 17 HP left it will become a 23 HP unit with 17 HP left still. When evaluating on whom to cast spells which manually decrease HP: If your unit isn't on max HP there is no need to considder the HP decrease short term (such as before a relentless wave) because your units HP will stay at it's current value. Adding the fact that Attack increases do well on multistrike units it is optimal to cast the Razorsharp Edge in otherwise equivalent circumstances on the damaged multistrike units rather than on a morselmaker in the back. Stay tuned and have fun playing! ^^
NL, damage shield upgrade on units is generally bad. But one of the few good uses is to put it on your 0/2 utility unit so that he doesn't get killed by a single sweeper.
On those units you'd rather have an hp upgrade tho, the hp upgrade is like 20 more hp, sweep units have around 6 dmg at most unless its a boss, so they can take 3 extra hits from sweep units with just one upgrade while damage shield would only provide one more. Plus hp upgrades are way cheaper, honestly idk why the fk the dmg shield is more expensive when its garbage. Unless its well timed its shit. Imps for example can make use of dmg shield, because you usually put them in front, so you can time them to tank a single (non sweep) heavy hit, two hits if you have in mind their own hp, making it worth more than an hp upgrade, even better if you combine it with endless so you can do so multiple times and keep getting summon effects. For most other units its garbage however.
I think he's starting to learn unit placement and synergy really well, at least! He's dramatically improved on making sure each floor synergizes with itself well.
19:18 Isn't the robot guaranteed to kill the Boss already? You could just prevent the Pyre damage instead. Also, Razorsharp edge is 3x as good on the robot than it is on any other unit.
NL you gotta start planning out turns better when energy matters. you threw away a playable gem trove that would have won you that last fight by playing other things first and then only having a +2 ember card, so you never got back up to the 3 needed for it. That extra damage shield and pack of morsels would have done a lot. Especially since it applies damage shield to the whole floor...which is designed to let your morsels survive that turn vs sweepers.
Additionally, it's good practice to plan out energy with cards like Mine Collapse. A lot of the time you would have three or more energy with a Mine Collapse in your hand and two other one energy cards, but you'd use those two cards and then Mine Collapse. Take advantage of that extra 2 energy with the mine collapse to maybe take out a slightly more tanky unit.
He may over value removal, but once you get to more expensive shops due to covenant rank, it’s best to avoid rerolling early game unless you have a lot of money, depends on what you’re looking for too
Eh, deck thinning is quite important in this game. For example if you have pivotal units you generally don't want too many other ones in your deck, since you are always going to draw one (or was it two?) minions in your opening hand (aside from train stewards, who should still be purged but for other reasons). As Arthas would have said, purging is good ;P.
Agreed. Removal is very important but gold especially early on is many times more important. Paying for remove makes a good deck better but a bad deck it just drains resources
@@123mickymouse123 Its a useful strategy but that doesnt change the fact that he overvalues it, thin decks arent as important in here as it is in slay the spire. Because tons of cards wont go back to your hand when used, both consumed, purged, and summon units. And fights are way longer and less in amount, so basically you'll always cycle your deck in here. He usually pays to purge train stewards, whom he can use one energy to play them and not have them anymore on his deck for the fight, plus he can get the benefit of using them ofc. I understand purging torchs or heals depending on the situation, but he is definetly over valuing it. You get much more of a benefit in choosing properly the cards you pick than by thinning the deck, the reason why he makes the deck more thin to begin with its because he bases his entire strategy on one or two cards in the early game so he gets fucked if he doesnt draw them. If he spread his strenght in more cards he wouldnt have to worry about that almost ever. Edit: this is also why he does much better with the burnout units or the imps, because they are the complete opposite of focusing your entire strength in few units, so he doesnt have to always wait to get a single core card.
17:38: "I hate you, but there's very little I can do about it...so obviously the Razorsharp does great here..." The big brain play was to play Razorsharp Edge on the healer, killing it.
17:50 Play the RazorsharpEdge on the Spike-Giving support unit! You can totally use it on enemy units. That is what I like about this card. you can buff your units or use it to kill weak back-liners.
NL keeps big braining himself out of taking trials and it's killing him in the long run. Talking about taking them hurts his pyre so he's worse off later. No, having a worse deck hurts your pyre and makes you worse off later. If you'll survive the trial even with 1 pyre health, it's still almost always correct to turn it on.
Stop underrating regen! you need it for bosses. Wildwood sap is the most powerful awoken card. Take it every time. duplicate it, upgrade it and wins will come.
I believe that cutting off a shade splitter to get faster to your morsel miner or mitosis would have been a better play than removing one train steward which were upgraded and you still had plenty of space for. Also, you missed some chances to play gem throve which was better than applying dmg shields or using shade splitters. Gem trove gives you better morsels and you could have played it and then recovered the energy with your mine collapse.
12:54 - NL why do you refuse to play the steel enhancer for the extra damage on the TS when its the only card left with one energy remaining? it's these little changes of numbers that stop you beating the boss by one health.
IceFire9yt Continue on my friend, I got stuck at 22 for awhile, but once I got passed it 23 and 24 didn’t take long. 25 has been such a pain in the ass lol +1000 health on the final boss has been so so so difficult. I’ve gotten them down to 600 like 4 times. So close yet so far XD
Nice job on using construct alloy. Run was a but unlucky in that you got both spike relics but no thorned hollow. Aside from that, there were more than usual brutal misplays. I am not sure if I agree with putting steel enhancer on your hero versus the construct. It's more impactful on the construct. And you ignoring your pyre health for things you dont need is a bit cringey. Still love this and learned a lot.
Don't dis on the Restores as much as you think. Stacking Regen is huge at times especially with a spike Champ and you even were able to grab the relic to go along with them. It would've been worth to keep them.
You still seem to have an issue with morsel plays. You can never shield a unit with 2+ morsels against a single attacker. The one in front dies and then all the rest are consumed. Also, stop putting shield morsels in front of your spike tank to take a hit. They grant an extra hit when consumed anyway and that hit will be on the unit with spikes instead of not.
While this was not a dub, I heard from a allegedly credible source (NLs twitter), that soon pogs will rain in the wake of Akagi-lvl plays. So sheath your pitchforkes folks.
Perhaps some runs on either lower Covenant rank *or* some runs that are not being recorded would be best. I think maybe a few runs off camera without the pressure of so many people watching may help you to play a bit slower and plan things out more carefully. Just my two cents. You'll get there. These are not like Isaac runs, and nobody is going to be mad if you upload longer videos if they mean wins lol...you can't just throw things out without carefully planning, especially on higher Covenant tiers. Just don't want you to burn yourself out because it is a good game, just gotta slow down a bit.

NL is just the proof that no matter how much clear information a game gives, there will be players that'll be able to avoid most of it
