It's well known in the comics the Magneto/rogue relationship with Remy in the middle. It's not unnecessary drama, probably something new since Jean and Scott are (so far) happy.
He’s right in the comic Books there has been moments where rogue and magneto would show a lot of chemistry.
I mean you gotta understand that in the animated universe she still is at odds with her feelings for gambit because of her powers. But magneto has some history with her and if it’s anything like the age of apocalypse reality there’s a way for them to have a relationship. In the age of apocalypse universe, magneto and rogue got married and had a kid who they named Charles….(it was to honor Charles Xavier who died saving magneto’s life which is what started this parallel timeline) any magneto used either his powers or type of technology to allow himself to be able to physically touch a rogue. Now if we’re going to go buy comic books eventually rogue will have a type of nerf/buff to her powers. She will no longer be able to take on more than one person at a time and will no longer retain any residual memories of that person…. Which she can now delete herself. Yet the up side is that last time I checked, she could also control her powers finally….. or more of precisely she can limited her draining ability to the point where it has no noticeable effect on person.
Oh now for a while now gambit and rogue have been married in the comic Books so you don’t have to worry too much.

@@venicethehedgehog4122 yes, of varying levels of 90's long fluffy mullet style usually with the back in a ponytail until i think the xtreme xmen comics when he finally got a haircut, which was after the show ended. the mullet was unfortunately a very popular hairstyle in those days.
That's because Gambit is always doing dirt behind Rogue and the teams backs and only after his dark deeds come back to hurt the team, nobody even knows what he is up to! They find out after being attacked and almost killed! You do wrong, it comes back for you one way or another!

The Rogue scenes hit different after finding out she and Magneto were lovers.
Yep, it adds so much more depth and meaning to her character that she was sorely lacking. She was basically just eye candy in the og series.

That always bugged me reading the comics. Wanna be able to get it on with Gambit? I don't think he'd be all that bothered by an inhibitor collar. Or hell, make it a bracelet or something. Beast explained in the second episode it's just radiation from the collar that nulls the mutant gene.

Rogue had been absent from the spotlight for so long that fans were thrilled when she finally made her return. Her last appearance was in that Marvel movie where the heroes traveled back in time. My favorite version of Rogue was from the 2000s for the X-Men evolved version when she was a goth teenager. Her goth aesthetic and complex personality made her stand out as a unique and compelling character. It's no wonder that Rogue is a favorite among many X-Men fans. it's she is people's favorite Rogue back in action. She's always been a favorite among X-Men fans. Over the years, Rogue has become one of the most trusted members of the team and has even joined and led the Avengers Unity Squad. It's good to have her back in the spotlight where she belongs.But perhaps her most significant development was her relationship with Gambit. The two eventually became partners in love and crime-fighting, solidifying their bond by becoming husband and wife. They even went on to have children together, marking a new chapter in Rogue's life.

I love how the music in the club scene appears to be a remix of Rogue’s theme from X-Men Vs Street Fighter.
I heard in the comics that rogue did at some point learn to control her power enough that she could touch another person, but if memory serves, it took a lot of effort and could only happen in intervals. It would be a beautiful episode if they could manage to make that happen. It’s the one barrier that I think continues to taunt rogue?

I've only read the story about Rogue and Gambit's honeymoon. At least from there I realized that these two cherish each other, and the same Gambit can't touch her, but he loves her anyway. At the same time, these two help each other in every way. I didn't want to watch this series, I wasn't interested in the X-Men of the 90s in general, but I saw that Rogue and Gambit were here together. Until a certain very strange moment, which definitely spoiled the impression. Damn, Madame so easily abandons a man who loves her without a trace with all the pros and cons for the sake of an old bastard. But hey, she can touch him! I don't know, it feels like a spit in the face from a loved one, let's see what happens next. Although it seems to me that it would be enough to escalate the experience that since they cannot touch each other, they would try to find a solution to this. And not jump into the arms of the first person who can touch her

Gambit isn’t being a doormat though, he even stated int he series that they aren’t exclusively together, as far as I’m concerned their dating and dating isn’t the same as being in a relationship, yeah, it sucks when your “best hitter” moves onto someone else for a brief period but if you aren’t together, you don’t get a say in what someone does with their body. And even then Gambit was understanding Magento could touch her and he couldn’t, and he knows how much she both valued and idealized physical touch.

I really do like Rogue in the X-Men animated series due to her very compassionate nature but honestly...I never liked how she treated Gambit. Despite his flirty and very charming nature ^^ he has shown nothing but devotion and unconditional love towards her, has even told her he was willing to let himself get injured just to kiss/touch her, told her that he LOVES her and the two even shared a kiss but she just doesn't seem to recuperate his feelings or take them as seriously as in one episode (of the original series) when her first boyfriend Cody returns she is willing to return to him without hesitation when he asks if she still wants to be with him. Now in the new series just when it looked like Rogue and Gambit were in a relationship they had to throw in the typical 'love triangle' to make it more dramatic and worst of all with Magneto. I honestly feel so bad for Gambit right now as it puts Rogue in a negative light as she has no right to keep treating him like this and playing with his emotions. Even if the Rogue and Magneto thing happened in the comic (throws up) doesn't mean they had to do it here in this new series. I am glad that Rogue and Gambit finally tied the knot in the comics and hope to GOD it stays that way. But honestly, I really do think in this new series, that Gambit needs to move on from Rogue and find someone else.

@@MoviesR4Life1Honestly I didn’t like Rogue in the comics for a while after she left Gambit to freeze to death in Antarctica even if she regretted her decision and went back to try and find him it was still shitty of her to do it but she moved on and Magneto 🤢🤮 and a part of me still resents her for that a bit even if she came to regret it she still made the decision to abandoned him. If they pull the same crap with Gambit in the animated series I will be upset. Gambit deserves better than this one.
This is as bad as Batman & Batgirl and Osborn & Gwen Stacey. And magneto also betrays her, too. These writers' knows what they're doing.

In XmenTAS, she has a deeper/lower, more womanly tone--more akin to Lenore's actual speaking voice. In 97, it's like they said, "Dial that back a bit." Not a complaint per se, just something I noticed

I prefer Rogue from the 90s, but apart from the character's appearance, what do you think of the animation itself? Is the story good, are the other characters good? There's no point in having a super hot and sexy Rogue if the series as a whole isn't good.

Episode 1 is cool!!! Episode 2 got complicated with Magneto. The show seemed like it was about the XMEN, this one seems like it's about Magneto. It changed the momentum. But let me keep watchin and see where it goes. I'm still just happy to see more XMEN, especially this style.

Its not like one version is more detailed than the other(but those eyebrows don't help much), but the new version seems softer is the only way I can describe it and the colors seem brighter in tone, it's just a few small things, but it's the small things that usually stand out the most

Apparently this is canon in the comics, I was also quite surprised, have never heard of this before. She does get back with Gambit eventually. Some stories are of her and Magneto having a kid as well. Magneto and Rogue have similar powers of magnetism somewhat, that's how he is the only one that can touch her.
If you read age of apocalypse. Rogue and Magneto fell in love when Rogue was able to touch with Magneto Gambit got jealous and got broken hearted because Rogue choose Magneto and left. Hence became part of the externals that he lead

The truth is X-Men comics have always been extremely messed up. People switch bodies, date each other's parents, one of the main subplots is a guy trying to get with his friends wife, and Xavier was training kids to be his political agents since the 60s.

Don't know why people hated the idea for a black actress be to playing a southern bell girl. I honestly don't know but i do agree with anyone why disliked the idea of casting keke palmer as rogue. Just saying. I honestly want a Goth version from evolution with a southern accent this time around.

true, sorry but this is wayy too angular and bright, and not as detailed, the original 90s series had a pretty low budget so the animation wasnt stellar, but the drawings themselves were better.
I forgot in the comics that Rouge and Magneto had a thing. Why the hell did they do that in the comics? That is so wrong so very wrong making Rouge and Magneto a couple. I really hope this is misleading and they are not doing the same thing in animation.
