FREEZING Solo Bivvy Bag Wild Camping Above THORS CAVE- Exploring The Peaks.

- Hello everyone and welcome back!!
This week i went to The Peak district in my vw camper van Hurrell. I explored as much as i could around the Peaks in a day. This followed by a really cold Bivvy bag only wild camp above the famous Thors Cave.
I found some wild garlic.... filtered water from the rivers... explored hills, rocks, woodlands and generally just enjoyed being outdoors in the sun being somewhere new.
The van didn't miss a beat and i loved every second of being up there.

That was enjoyable, I was brought up in the Peaks. We used to go camping but only in the Summer!..... Padley Gorge is trippy, good for seeing Elves and Pixies.

Bivvy camping on a hill - keep rolling rolling rolling 😎 🤣 I found a sweet spot near a wood and clearing- no one about not a soul - except the 4 cars on the hill floodlighting my place- doggers ...lol...just my luck. Well at least they are getting some fresh air. But a small walk into the pines and there's promise,I'll go back again.

Stiff Little Fingers.... no way ?? I saw them back in 1978 in Aylesbury for the Inflammable Material Tour.... Even had a beer with Jake, as he was sitting at the bar when the support act was on.... Brilliant band, saw them a few years later in Cardiff, but that first gig when I was just 16 blew me away.... Just one of many gigs back then... "Wen we wuz yung !!"

i was born in sheffield and used to go round them places as nipper , got married , moved to lincolnshire had a couple of kids , we used to take them to peaks , matlock , castleton ,they loved it !

Living in Australia now I don't see mornings like that any more , I used to love the frost on the ground , it's magical the British isles , you should get yourself up to sandalwood bay in Scotland, it's got a very supernatural history but it's secluded and beautiful. There's a bothy if your glamping it my friend 😉

Great video Craig. The sun casting your shadow on the cloud is known as a Brocken Spector. Sometime the shadow has a rainbow around itIve been lucky to see several of these from the tos of mountains in the Lake District. Keep the videos coming . Cheers Mick

Cracking vid Craig , & quite clear to see how you just transformed into an excitable kid again as soon as you hit the Outdoors, Woods etc. Looked a great spot & its made me think about grabbing the bivvy more, rather than the tent. Burger looked tasty too 😜

Loved it mate....went to the peaks youlgrave nr Buxton Derbyshire camping on my bike suxuki Gt 250 with gf on back,left sunny narfuk for rainy hilly coldish peaks,woke up to cows eating the guide ropes on tent..going "boing""boing"at half 5 in the morning..open the tent to see this big beasty thingy looking at me!!...enough about the gf!!...🤣 anyhoo loved the peaks mate.one thing we do have in narfuk an suffik is.....large sky's....keep it real mate.Dave in warm narfuk.

Like your enthusiasm Craig. A man after my own heart. I have been tramping (hiking) here in New Zealand for 50 years, I will probably die in the bush, can't get enough of it. If you ever come over this way you will be blown away with our mountains and forest. You won't see any other person for days or weeks. Good bushcraft skills are needed. Cheers from NZ

More gourmet wild camping. Just goes to show what you will miss if you don't get out and about. Just get up early one day and talk a walk about. The noise the birds make at 530 or so is amazing this time of the year. Top lad Craig.

Class camp,I’m local to thors cave (Stoke on Trent )we used to camp there as teens ,I was there a few weeks ago,it’s a magical place with a bit of everything,the only bad thing which you also saw is the amount of people who also get there,there’s a small campsite in the valley at the other end dove dale ,£9 a night ,next to the river,fires are allowed too!keep the vids coming Craig nice to see you in the heart of England 🏴
