The bivvy tents are great for winter and autumn but I used for a wild camp back in the summer and almost passed out with the heat. Nice bit of kit though. Also a key part of my emergency bug out kit.
Thanks for the open host review , very informative on numerous accounts 👍 and probably saved me from a cold , wet , dirty cave camp ! Spoiler alert, this community: wrap yourself in a duvet; arm yourself with a large pot of hot tea and give your electric fire a cuddle. Do all three simultaneously and maybe - just maybe - you'll avoid the sympathetic shivering you'll experience as you watch Gareth and Zoe remain wet throughout every second of this video.
You really know how to treat a lady, ... That's what you call character building. It's quite disappointing when you see expensive equipment failing but a lot of people recommend the hooped bivvy but only ever use under a tarp, I'd say it's not really fit for purpose, luv your Vid's. Cheers.
I had the same sort of experience camping in Hastings recently. I was camping on an area above the sea line. It was all clay and it was wet and slippy. Covered in wet clay, all over the tent and everywhere. So much cleaning to do when I got home. Definitely not a good winter camp.
Hahahaha, I admit, I found it funny. Only because you laugh about it too. What else can you do though? Good on ya both for braving it out. Never been one for winter bivvying only because it's dark at 4 and you can't sit up in a bivvy. At least with a tent you can sit up and play a game or something but a bivvy is like, ok, I'm just going to lay here for 16 hours 😂 nice to see the harsh reality of these type of camps. Funny though 😂
got a 3ful gear quidian pro just before Christmas done a few 6 miles trips with it with all my camping gear trying it out whats your and how you liking them so far
What a scary/grotty cave lol. I like that it's got vertical drops down outside and tall rocks high above though. Are you doing any mountain/summit camps this year?
Does this video make me feel like a wimp? Absolutely! Would I seek out a wet cave to bivvy in so I feel less wimpy? Absolutely not!! 😝 (Just call me Horace.)
Would you rather camp like this for the rest of your lives or only camp ten more times and then never again? P.S. Zoe is using an Olight headlamp; what happened to the Wubens?

Yeah most definitely. We love the hills. Just prefer more lowland stuff when it's wet and windy.
So you're married. Otherwise you'd set the bivy's head-to-head instead of head-to-toe. ;o) LOL
It was purely because of the incline of the floor and the zips being on the right hand sides of the bivvy bags lol
