You sir are just the tonic that we all need ...had a real rough couple of weeks ...you just made me proper smile 🙂👍 well done you 👍 🙏 even when things fall down around you lol you pick your self up ..or the tarp 😂😂 love it 👍😂😂
The Hexamine stove is a great addition to the kit. When you run out of hexi blocks you can substitute them for wood, twigs and suchlike. Also it might pay to have a tin of cotton wool balls, that have been smothered in a layer of vaseline (oi oi) - which is a great firelighter. I've been using the same hexi stove for 9 years and it's going strong still, if I don't have any blocks I use it as a wood stove :)
Another quality watch. You crack me up mate. It's like watching myself being out there. No frills, just out to enjoy what we can where we can. Thanks man. 👍
You’re so spot on, especially as times like these and costs of living go on till who knows when. Let’s get out there and explore our own country. It doesn’t have to be costly. Do it on the cheap and you’re laughing.
As a new trucker you'll be eyes on storks for height limit signs. My heart skipped a beat when you drove into the Aldi underground with the roof box on the lid. :)
Brilliant video Adsm. Loving it. You know you can make a closed tent out of a tarp. Watch Wildbeare on the tube to see how she makes one. Oh. And the fact that she is gorgeous makes for great viewing.
used to use them cookers in cadets. just don't break the cubes up into smaller pieces they burn up faster, lol. I love camping that way, feels so free and wild. and the card that the cubes come in is covered in the same flammable stuff, rip a bit off and it lights easier then you can light the cube with the card.
Hi mate, Ex-Scottish Infantry here, you can break your Hexi blocks in half and use them as needed, easily replaceable,go outdoors,eBay etc. when setting up your basha, use the second to last eyelets to create a ridge and give the rain somewhere to go, keep your basha low and you'll be fine in the foul weather.
cheers, loving the cooker, ive a ton of little puil cords hooks came with the tarp so thinking i can do a raised A frame possibly next time, will have to see
being ex forces I have and still use the hexi cookers, they are ok when you get used to them. we used to dig a small hole to put them in, just try not to cut the blocks up and for best results get a jet lighter to light the blocks with too. A frame I always use for a basher setup. really enjoyed the video bud :) shouting at my screen "off with the gas " 👍
wow, not used a hexy cooker in a long time, the blocks just fall apart and you did the right thing, use the bits, not done wild camping for years, nothing beats it, never got on with tarps though always use a lightweight tent. really enjoying all your vids, so positive
Brilliant yet again, made me laugh many times, some of things you say crack me up. Not your best camp but didn’t dampen your spirits…. Well done you, sorry to hear no pot to p .. in ☹️ all the best mate (Bill aged 70).
Great video, but a little tip to your cooking from an ex soldier. When you put your pan on to boil it's automatic to put the lid on top the right way round. However as you saw it's hard to get off and you risk knocking your pan off. Much easier to put the lid over the top bottom side to the pan. This way you can lift it off easier or even slide it off.
@@wanderingwhere Also next time you're Blackpool way try Fleetwood. It's free parking on the sea front and you can drive or reverse into the parking space so you can look right out over the beach and sea.
Thx for that Peepresc, I have a set of 360 camp saucepans and the darn lids form a vacuum n if I’m cooking anything with a lot of liquid, steam you know you know ☺️🇦🇺
@@lotsoflavender31 in the forces we had 2 mess tins. One large one small. Small one used for cooking large one went on top bottom side down. Plus easier to get off due to the folding handle. I have uses this method since 1983 so it's definitely tried and tested lol 😆
Hi. Once again been watching all your videos. Enjoyed Scotland.. I dont need to tell you again how much we love watching you. My partner wants one of your beanie hats. They look cool. Stay safe and well.
A frame every time mate, look at the fire dragon stove by BCB very similar to what you have now expect the fuel turns to liquid or try a Trangia meths stove, both are small and lightweight, great video atb Pete.👍🏻
I have a dd 3 x 3 tarp there's several ways to pitch up depending on weather, take a look on you tube , I'm going around foggintor this weekend to bivvy I may take off as well lol! , you can put your sleeping mat in your biyy if it fits , I use a ground tarp or a bug net inner for bivvy camps. Good fun when slugs climb over you in the night ewww, ha ha. Made me laugh though lol! And who needs sleep ? Look at the firedragon fuel thingys for those portable stoves . Ya know ! 🤪
Not a bad spot at all. As for the tarp I can offer no help at all lol. A tent would've been better or tarped it in the trees. And I love the entertaining cooking show you also do. Lol. Take care sir. Graeme
Great video the stove looks really good and doesn't take up any space. Wow that Tarp didn't want to stay put did it had a mind of its own. What a great location for a wild camp you always find the best spots.
Mate, awesome as always 👍 you never fail to make me laugh! 👍😁😁 If you’re not already watching, Joe Robinet on TH-cam will teach you everything you need to know about tarps, fires, making your own shelter from sticks. He’s a good ‘un to watch. 😁

Hay mate the hexi blocks and stove you used is what we got issued in the army back in the day Uknow Uknow, I would break them in half but you can get BCB Or fire dragon gel ones now that are about 30/40p each a lot easier to use 👍🏻
Try the cooker with mess tin set, size is better suited for it. And perhaps get a bigger tarp so you can have it under your bivvie for extra protection and less chance of failure.
