Hello. Was wondering how you usually wash your brush after applying quickshade? I find that washing with warm water or soap doesn't clean it well and i destryoed the brush after
I use Odorless Turpenoid (I think it's also called mineral spirits). It's designed for cleaning oil paints from brushes. Unfortunately your brush will still be pretty crappy after. I have brushes that I only use for quickshade - usually cheap $1 plastic brushes.
I definitely agree with you. This is one of my early videos, where I did things in a very simple way. There's a lot I would change if I were to redo it. For one, I likely wouldn't use quickshade on a model this big. The boils in a contrasting color is a great idea, and I'd also do the nose and ears in a more fleshy color to make them stand out. I probably would have used 3-4 different greens for the skin as well.
great videos! i recently bought the abomination pack and started painting them. I used your videos as my guide! thx for helping me out. Any chance theres a video on the ablobination as well?
@@HeroesBosses after seeing your videos, i bought a can of strong tone quickshade! I am planning to copy the colors in the zombicide book for painting the ablobination. Wanted to see if you have tips on blending the dark and light purple together.
i should add. When i did the minotaur with quickshade. I may have used a bad brush and couldn't get the dark shade off. I had to re-highlight entire skin area to get the skeleton colour back. My troll turned out pretty well though!
it's a common technique to seal the mini with somes Testor's and work in layers. There's nothing wrong with this. If your'e going to be working with Quickshade, you have to dull it back down with a matt varnish.
Do you know the exact track in this video? I love that sort of middle eastern chant going on. I would love to download that track. I've searched but can't find it. If anyone knows please tell me!
@@HeroesBosses I checked. No unfortunately but thanks for the try. I came across this video cause I'm painting the same mini. I like how you did it. Plus I love that music you used. I keep checking TH-cam but can't seem to find it. Great video 👍
I strongly considered that. I bought a bottle of Nurgle's Rot to use on the troll, but decided not to use it last minute. I think it would look great though.
That plastic cylinder is an artifact of the casting process. It is not needed to support the model. Really like what you do with the larger bases and painting the flagstones.
Thanks Kevin! Yeah, I tested the model without that "support post" and you really don't need it. I saw plenty of pics of other people's work where they had cut it off and it looks great.
I paid into the Massive Darkness kickstarter :) The miniatures look pretty amazing. I also just bought the 2016 Blood Bowl, so at some point I'll start painting those as well!
ahh, So did i...i hooked on CMoN games having The Others: 7 sin( great miniatures and Rum and bones: Secord Tide next year. Looking forward to what you gonna do with Massive darkness
Ian Whetzel Definitely not a stupid question! After the miniature comes out of its mold it can be covered in a lubricating layer called the "releasing agent". You just want to make sure that it's gone. If you paint over it the paint may flake off later, or just not stick in the first place.
Kiff Stevenson Yeah, the butt. Haha. After our brainstorming session I decided to go with painting the support to look like blood. I think it turned out pretty well. I also thought about sculpting a blood splash with the green stuff. Next time maybe :)
I think it looks great! I especially like how you used it on the entire sole of his foot, and how you added a few splashes here and there. Also, the skulls are great; they're perfectly in-scale with the Abominatroll. 'grats!
Very, very nice
You're digging deep into the archives :)
Love the blood! What a great trick to conceal the support peg
Thanks! I'm looking forward to using him in the game ;)
Another solid production! Masterful work and creativity.
Forrestbreathertribe Thanks again - glad you like it :)
Great painting. That is a really cool mini. Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you Daniel!
Thank you again for a great video!

Awesome Job!
I think doing the boils in a contrasting color, like yellow or orange/yellow would have added some visual interest to your model.

He's in the works! Glad you like the vids. Are you using Quickshade, or a different wash? Just curious :)

@@HeroesBosses i finished my ablobination! hope i'll get to see yours soon =)
Highlights after sealing it with varnish? A few touches with the hand on the mini and the highlights will start to vanish very quickly.
Sismanski Yes they will! You have to make sure you seal it again with varnish after you apply the highlights.

I think it's by Kevin MacLeod - Desert Caravan mabye?

What about using nurgle's rot to the "blood thing"? I guess I'll give it a try

can you show how to paint the Hero's from the main box?
The next video is of a main hero :) I'm on vacation soon so this one will be much faster than my last one!
Sweet can't wait, i love your painting style!!!
conrad miller Thank you! Very much appreciated :)
what's the next miniatures you a gonna paint if it's not zombicide?

Might be a stupid question but why scrub it in soapy water?

Heroes & Bosses Wow thanks for the quick response subbed tonight hope to see more ZBP. You do awesome work keep it up!
Ian Whetzel There will be more - I just have a job that keeps me super busy!
Otherwise a great channel I enjoy.
So you're not painting ablobination?
Yes I am! But I won't be using Quickshade on him. I'll be using washes instead.
I had a really hard time painting it with washes!
"Deviating from character art"?!?! UNSUBSCRIBE!!! j/k, of course. Another amazing vid, man!
Kiff Stevenson Haha :) Thanks Kiff!
