    2020 and this video is still VERY helpful. I love the simplicity yet amazing results of the technique. Finally a method a new person like me can do without having to invest in a airbrush... Thanks!

    This is actually one of the best painting tutorials I have ever seen:
    - the explanations are very helpful and contain a lot of useful information
    - the video is very focused and synchronous to the explanations
    - it actually shows what the painter ist doing and the colours and tools he is using
    - and finally it's very motivating for me to get started painting my undead again :-)
    Thanks a lot!

    This is, as far as I am concerned, still the single best 'how to paint' miniatures video on the internet. Well explained, easy to understand, everything shown clearly on the screen, a few different techniques, an awesome appendix. It doesn't show super high levels of detail like some of your other videos but for the beginner/ amateur painter just picking up a brush, or for anybody wanting to get their minis done to an acceptable level, there is simply no better video I have seen. Awesome stuff, and inspired me to get my zombies painted up too. Thanks!

    As a new painter...I've watched a LOT of painting videos the past couple months. This is seriously the absolute BEST one I've seen so far. I don't even play anything that has undead models and I still loved it and now I want to build a zombie horde just to paint them because it looks like so much fun. Thanks for the video!!!!

    Brother, I just wanted to drop by and give you a huuuuuuge thank you for your tutorials! I followed the one above to the T during the last weeks and have just finished the highlighting stage and the Zombies look amazing already! Now just the eyes and blood stains and then I am gonna follow your other tutorials to paint the rest of the game. Thank you so much, these are the coolest looking minis I have ever painted thanks to your brilliant and detailed explanations! Really grateful! I followed all your tips, and each one was epic advice, that made the painting process easier accessible and enjoyable! I learned a lot from this tutorial already! Cant wait for the rest! Greetings, Oliver

    Thanks for this detailed video.
    I just finished painting my orcs and it was a huge help.
    When using Quickshade, I strongly recommend using turpentine substitute.
    With this, the shade can be thinned and the brushes cleaned perfectly.

    • @scathezombiestu
      @scathezombiestu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never used Quickshade, but it looks awesome. Do you recommend adding the turpentine substitue to the Quickshade before you apply it? Just asking before I try it (worried the turps might mess the initial paintjob up first). Cheers!

    My fiancée and I started this month in the hobby of miniature board games and painting them has been a very fun part of the whole process. Your tutorials are a great help and I am impressed with your ability to paint the details on the zombies' faces, I hope to improve even more and achieve something close to what you can do. I am Brazilian and unfortunately we do not have many of the materials that appear in tutorial videos from outside the country (QuickShade

    This is by far the best Zombicide Painting Tutorial to me, thanks! A very good explanation. I do also like the color overview at the end, so you don't have to scroll the video back and forth all the time. And it's pretty nice that you can bring your Zombies to tabletop standard quite fast for playing and still having the opportunity to improve them any time afterwards.

    it cannot be stated enough how fantastic your painting tutorials are. i have learned so much from them, especially the Zombicide Black Plague playlist of Zombies, Abomination, Necromancer and Heroes since this is my next painting venture ever since i saw your channel. I really would love to see this extended to the Abomination pack and NPC Packs. I know that would not be an easy task but it would be great to see how you tackle them. Sorastro, these results are just stunning and the ways of getting them are just as easy as your step by step guide. Very educational, very instructive, great work and beautiful miniatures. Please come back with some extra tutorials on medieval zombicide figures :) I'm really interested in how you would deal with wolfz, NPC walkers, ghosts, ravens, rats (that colour scheme consists rather of dark grey or black colors for the whole miniatures) or maybe some extra abominations like abominotaur, abominatroll, ablobination or even one of two dragons available for this game. Thank you so much for great work! I'm coming back to the painting after years inspired by this video as the first I have seen on your channel. Time to continue watching Star Wars painting series and to paint remaining miniatures. Bravo!

    I am a newcomer to the channel . amazed I did not discover you earlier. I have many hours of watching to come.
    Just wanted to note that many years ago when I was avidly miniature painting I used the tin of Quickshade as a dip, even quicker than applying by brush
    (interestingly enough, the original Zombicide got me back into miniature painting after dabbling early with classic Warhammer. I still have my original KS sponsor Black Plague set unopened, your 'tubes are tempting me to break them out and paint after a few years of a break from painting)

      +Sorastro's Painting Ooh interesting...have they done away with shooting all your mates before you can kill a zombie? And yes...I completely agree...the setting is so much more rich and thematic and quite refreshing for a zombie game...the older ones certainly might start to gather some zombie dust! :-)

    Well, thank you for such a great video !
    As a matter of fact, it is because of your videos that I decided to jump into the world of painted figurines.
    Quality of the pictures, calm voice, clear and simple explainations, a few tips to make it easier for the beginners... what else?
    You give beginners the comfindence they lack with sentences like "don't forget, you can always cover your mistakes".
    So please, keep going (and you're luckily covering all the board games I have at home ^^).

    Thank you so much for these painting tutorials ! They are THE best tutorials out there even in 2021 ! so many tips and tricks!
    My mini's from black plague do however seem to have more indiscrete mold lines :p I'm spending my evenings scraping and filing whilst longing to start painting these ...

    • @Sorastro
      @Sorastro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that. I don't remember being too fussy about the mold lines on the zombies tbh, but it was some time ago... :)

    • @TheHongKongHermit
      @TheHongKongHermit 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any time spent on removing mould lines is never wasted, at least. It's the one thing you can never go back and do after painting. Can always add an extra wash or highlight months later, to perk up a basic paint job, but untrimmed mould lines are forever. (But hoo boy, there is NOTHING in this hobby I like less than scraping mould lines. It's the very necessary, but very unsexy part of figure painting.)
