Malenia starting her second phase with Flower of Doom is both a pro (can instantly rot almost anything) and con (leaves her vulnerable to Maliketh's death-swipes from afar). Would be interesting to see another version of this fight where she starts her second phase on foot, if possible, as that also might enable her to utilize her full moveset, and also give Maliketh small chance to avoid debilitating rotting. Also, this demonstrates wonderfully how demigods can't defeat fully resolved Maliketh, and only ones who might are probably Empyreans with their potential godhood; Malenia, Miquella and Ranni.
I think it is a disadvantage for her to start on foot. Against human players it eould be an advantage, but not against a computer like Maliketh. Because scarlet aeonia is the only way for her to catch up with maliketh on damage output. Her kifesteal and waterfowl is not good enough against destined death. Of course for us humans scarlet aeoni is such a good openjng to attack, and easily dodgeable. But maliketh prefers attacks that can be tanked instead of dodged
yep, the result of almost all the rounds depended on that moment. If Maliketh uses a close combat atack, he is dead. If he uses death swipes from afar, Malenia is death.
Godhood or Empyrean status is not a measure of power but a measure of nobility. Demigods like Radahn are stronger than Empyreans. Heck even non-gods like Godfrey are stronger than gods.
This is less a demonstration of Malenia's superiority and more a demonstration of how the AI isn't programmed/smart enough to stay AWAY from the scarlet rot nukes. That was Maliketh's downfall, EVERY time. When RNG allowed him to jump around or stay away from her otherwise the start of her phase 2, Maliketh cleaned house. Mally just needs to stop being so self-unalivingly stupid to walk right into an instant death aura all the time
Regardless of what the AI does. Malenia is generally pretty lore breaking. And likely the worst character Fromsoft has ever conceived. You can tell Fromsoft had such a huge hard-on for the health regain mechanic. There are other comments here that even suggest every other boss was nerfed besides Ms. Firecrotch because they loved her so much. Like, does any single solitary player of Elden Ring REALLY believe that she would ever lose to Radahn over in Aeonia? No way. If you believe that then you haven't played the game. I absolutely refuse to believe his slow stupid starscourge ass could land a single blow against her. It'd be a fight closer to Godrick vs Malenia. This is why I will forever be team Maliketh because he's as true to the lore as possible. He has a neat little gadget to make his fight easier for everyone. And he's a badass that doesn't need to literally nuke an entire continent when he's losing.

Or you just haven’t taken the time to fully understand her move-set… either way, she’s not even close to being their worst boss/character. I would recommend fighting her with light roll, and learning her parry timings; then you might begin to respect her design more. The entire fight can either be incredibly satisfying, or ridiculously annoying, depending on how you choose to play. Her healing ability forces players to be precise and deliberate about every move they make; it’s a real (very optional) challenge, that takes a decent amount of dedication. This is what sets Fromsoftware apart from other developers, and this is why I keep coming back. Also, the Radahn we fight is not in his prime; he was much quicker and a lot stronger when he fought Melania… so just consider that. Mang.
The means by which you started each new round were amazing. The way Maliketh seemingly did his "teleport out of a pillar" animation, followed by a "new" Malenia carefully walking on-screen, was a cool way to instill a "wait, what?" followed by a "ah, neat!" reaction from the audience. Also, Malenia teleporting in with a flurry of Aeonian Butterflies was polished and thematically appropriate. Of course, most of all, these were great fights!

More resistances. -Rykard= immunity to statuses except sleep -Maliketh= full health bar for phase 2, immunity to poisons and dd effect, roar does dmg, more poise dmg -Godfrey= earthquakes must be instakill, roar dmgs, more resistance to statuses -Radagon and Rennala= always parry spells, except physical ones and aoes. Rennala's moon must be instakill. Both should cure themselves. Fire giant ph 2= flamethrower from belly must be instakill Godrick= more dmg, more poise dmg, grab attack w dragon must be instakill -Fortissax= more dmg, fire also causes deathblight, more health, immunity to poisons and statuses. - Lansseax= more health, more dmg, more poise dmg, more resistance to bleeding and frost. -sir gideon ofnir= at LEAST 7 estuses, can use perfumes and block our healing. Can summon spirits to keep players away. -Elden beast= less mobility, more dmg, the holy rings must be instakill I think these changes would heavily fit the lore and could make every major boss shine. Good fight, back to back without any interruption. This is a good idea to find out the true win rate between bosses. I think 60% win rate against Maliketh in his arena is as high as it gets. I've seen Fire Giant and Godfrey win in this arena, but they'd lose 9/10 imo
Goddess against God-killer, ending most of the time in mutual destruction. It's almost poetic from a narrative perspective. It's also very satisfying to see Malenia's elegant swordsmanship face Maliketh's relentless aggression. The classic battle between the master duellist and the unstoppable assassin.

For fairness, it was worth putting Malenia in the second phase, when her AI is much more aggressive, otherwise in the first Malenia is inactive for most of the battle.
She has two health bars for a reason. If you put her in 2nd phase from the start, she’ll have one health bar. That’s fair. Maliketh only has 1 health bar, sharing both phases.
People are all commenting so much about Maliketh's AI but if u go with that, what about Malenia's AI? She is the most peaceful boss in her first stage and in second stage just sits on her scarlet aeonia, doesn't even move. If she starts with the same aggro as her second phase, Maliketh might not even survive her first stage. The best version is just let them both duke it out in their second phase, remove scarlet aeionia attack from Malenia, give Maliketh extra HP and pray he wins.
Difference is, Malenia has a 100% chance to do her 2 most powerful attacks in every single fight no matter what. She also gets infinite hyper armor for one, and the 2nd one is a literal phase switch rot nuke teleport. Those happen in EVERY single fight. Maliketh isn’t fortunate enough to have that, so literally any time he loses against her, it’s because his AI didn’t do his good attacks and got him killed.
Maliketh here is severely buffed from starting full hp in phase 2 but that just makes the fight better cause gurrang phase is boring... so alright. Malenia starting with half hp in each rd of phase 2 was pretty annoying but I guess that's just a dev problem. Pretty sad Maliketh never got past the flower in the rds he lost, would have made the video more interesting. Should have done multiple fair phase 2 vs phase 2 attempts just to see, cause her phase 2 alone can beat full hp maliketh with good rng and without the flower. Anyway, good idea of a video. People say that the scarlet aeonia carried but if she just started phase 2 she will have even greater win rate since she will not stay in one place for 5+ seconds getting hit. if she managed to bring him to half health with just phase 1 then getting the rest will not be a problem for her since she is twice as agressive in phase 2 and will kill him way faster then he can kill her.
Most of the videos where Malenia was bested by Maliketh was because of her long recovery time after using Scarlet Aeonia, making it way easier for Maliketh to spam his Destined Death from a safe distance and wipe out her healthbar.

I love the comments about Malenia's Rot "carrying" her once she phase transitions. That's her phase 2 gimmick, adding rot and starting it with Aeonia. Maliketh's is that he uses his sword, gains a ton of mobility and adds a percent based DOT. To make it fair and remove Malenia's rot would mean removing Maliketh's sword, additional mobility and Destined Death DOT as well, which would just be Beast Clergyman against phase one Malenia, and we all know that Malenia isn't losing that fight.

Nobody is saying remove the rot all at once. Just remove the scarlet aenonia aids since that’s her only win con and let Goddes of Rot do something. Even though that just goes the same way phase 1 did I think.

Maybe try a video of them fighting where neither have their DOT effects, Rot and Destined Death? I assume Malenia phase 1 would crush both of Maliketh's effortlessly but it'd be worth a two minute video to figure out at least.
Malenia would crush him. She just has too many powerful skills. Scarlet Aeonia still does a lot of damage without the rot. Then there's Waterfowl Dance and the Clone attacks, both are killer moves. Don't forget Life Steal too. Even some of her regular attacks do so much damage, like the sword thrust, aerial slash, grab...
Without Destined Death there was no way Maliketh could fight against Malenia's lifesteal it looks like. Unless he just keeps staggering her, a single Waterfowl will bring her back to full.
Maliketh without destined death is like elden beast without holy damage or rennala without sorcery (only staff aow and summons). Destined death is the only reason Maliketh earns a spot to be in elden ring
So... Malenia - 6 Maliketh - 2 Draw - 2 Full HP Doggo (without weaker phase 1). Arena advantages. And Malenia always gets debuff from destined death (look at her hp after phases 2, she started not with 80%, she got max hp debuff). Dominant and clear win for the Blade of Miquella. Maliketh is top-2 boss but far from Malenia.

Malenia 6, Maliketh 4. A tie leaning in favor of Maliketh means it’s a win. Phase 1 would help him here, why would it not? He would get free damage and have a cutscene teleport get-out-of-jail-free-card just as Malenia does with her phase 2. Malenia starts with 80% hp in phase 2 in the base game, that isn’t from Maliketh’s debuff. Arena advantages? Those don’t matter here. The only thing that determines whether Maliketh wins or not, is his own attack rng. With or without his arena.
So Maliketh still gets smoked by Malenia even with the odds artificially stacked in his favor (his arena, starts in phase 2 with full health, NG stats when be benefits more than she does because all his attacks are percent-based). This should solve the question of who sits on top of the boss hierarchy.
Still, it's pretty RNG because it's dependent on bosses using a specific move tree against another boss using a specific move tree to win. It could easily have been 5-5 or even Maliketh winning 6-4, but it really just depends if the game AI decides to use a move or not
@@FaptaA Exactly bro, and every round is dependent on him having a specific RNG. Malenia has 33K health, Maliketh has 10K health. I'm happy with the 4-6 result, but still. His triple air slash is just an above-average move. I'd say his Judgement Cut is better at the damage, minus mobility.
Was there ever a question? Malenia has 10k more hp than the final boss, she has self heal every time she hits something, she inflicts the highest damage variant of scarlet rot in the game, she has a dodge, and she has high general damage output with her basic attacks and combos, in addition to waterfowl dance. Doggo has what? 10k hp, a percent-based dot effect and a couple fancy flips and spins?
It's nice to FINALLY see Maliketh fight in his own arena for once since a portion of his maneuvers utilize the pillars. I would still like to have seen a straight up fight though. In a few of the rounds he seemed to be, clunky. I can't really explain it. What program is used to make these fights?
Conclusion: Malekith still the second most baddas boss in the game, "coz Malenia, even with debuff, against all advantages for him won more than a half of fights. She's a beast.

@@DecimaarZ Malenia wasn’t nerfed, but Maliketh was buffed - starting in his second phase, in his own arena(pillars) giving him mobility boost. Malenia, when she got to her second phase - the debuff from DD was still active, effectively bringing her health to 50% instead of 80% in which she usually begins. This fight in my opinion is overall underwhelming because either DD melted Malenia’s HP before she could land a hit (in her second phase) or the rot destroyed Maliketh as soon as Malenia entered her second phase. There was no proper fight if you know what I mean..

The Malenia simps are out in force in these comments, she was designed to be an OP boss with 2 absolute nukes of attacks, health regeneration, a 2nd phase with a new health bar and scarlet rot. And even with all that, if the devs had given Maliketh's AI the common sense not to wander directly into her waterfowl/scarlet aeonia attacks, he'd win 9 times out of 10
He isn't even supposed to run into that phase 2 beginning attack not even the player stays there it was meant to be avoided and maliketh fought with 1 health bar while she had 2 health bars so maliketh wins easily

Prime Maliketh? Prime Maliketh would have all shards of the Black Blade, but you can see in his transition cutscene it looks jagged, missing lots of pieces from the people who took it from him. Also starting at phase 2 is a no-brainer. He just starts as Beast Clergyman because he doesn't want to risk losing Destined Death, but if it's a demigod pulling up he lore-wise would start in phase 2. Malenia has two whole phases with two different health bars and Maliketh still won 4 rounds. Also don't forget, this is Prime Malenia vs Weakened Maliketh since he's missing so many remnants.

@@YisusTV556 You're mistaking no-brainer balancing as advantage. Maliketh has only 10K health, both phases combined, while Malenia's both phases combined are 33K. Malenia has lifesteal. Malenia has a separate healthbar so even if Destined Death is spammed on her first one, her second phase won't have any more statuses. Malenia's second phase basically is a death-sentence, and she opens with her Scarlet Aeonia, which has insane tracking and it always hits Maliketh even if he jumps away, it only misses if he does a specific move. By the way, his being in his arena doesn't do much against Malenia. The "advantage" it brings he only does 1-3 times in each round, and it barely helps since it's just an extra move. It helped twice, each time being good RNG so he jumped away from her Scarlet Aeonia. But overall, him being in his arena is not prime. Also, it's not really a big deal that he starts with 100% health, because that's the bare minimum. He in his prime would have lots of more health, lots of more moves, more powerful Destined Death, lots more of agility. In the lore, his sword originally had all the shards of Destined Death, but assassins stole lots of remnants (you can see it so obviously in his transition cutscene) thus it's very jagged. I'm not saying he would oneshot both phases of Malenia lore-wise both of them at their prime, I'm saying he would've probably made a 5-5, or won 6-4. 1. Being in his arena is a very minor advantage. 2. Being at max health is like, bare minimum because that's what it should be, but FromSoftware made us fight Gurranq against for some reason and his second phase doesn't start at 100%. 3. You're mistaking "advantages" as being in his prime and disregarding lore. 4. Such "advantages" are bare minimum compared to Malenia. She does Waterfowl 2-4 times a fight, hyperarmors through every attack, drains his health and heals from it, and it's very long as well.
Rot Goddess didn't physically attack once. Each battle was basically: Maliketh melting Malenia phase 1 -> phase 2 nuke and the outcome was determined by whether it triggered rot or not. Dodging the flower and spamming death waves is literally how Maliketh ever gets to win. Let her start as Rot Goddess and she eviscerates Maliketh 100% of the time regardless of whether her healing is activated or not and regardless of the arena.
Exactly, phase 2 Malenia is basically unstoppable. I also got annoyed that Maliketh couldn't get passed the flower to see what Goddess of rot could do, bit she either got screwed from starting with half hp or rekt Maliketh before she could do anything else... Maliketh's dodging combined wit his lethal attack and destined death, I can tell he just swipes almost every boss easily (only Consort Radahn and Malenia have the ability to defeat him sometimes)

Would it be possible to make a video of Maliketh facing bosses but with his destined death disabled? We all know DD is insanely strong. It is if not, the only reason Maliketh rakes up victories in most BvB battles. It would be very interesting to see how he would perform if DD didn’t do percentage based damage. There is a guy who did that in one of his videos. He had Maliketh's destined death turned off and while he could still throw slashes of DD, they just did blunt force damage instead of damage over time. He actually fared better than I had expected, though obviously he would have destroyed every boss he went up against if he had his destined death
It won't, as you could see in the cutscene, Malenia was able to kill him even in her first phase. The only problem is that Malenia is not primed to start melee from the range at which Maliket's script is activated, so she mostly just takes his hits, if she doesn't, then she won't need Red Aeonia to win.
Maliketh is stronger since Destined Death is stronger than Aeonia. Plus, Malenia has 2 full health bars, here Maliketh has 1 but normally has 1/2 health bar (1/4 Malenia's), and I am not talking about actual HP. Malenia won just because Maliketh didn't always dodge Waterfowl Dance and Aeonia, but, overall, he dodges attacks better than her.
Malenia is about the closest thing to an unfair fight and a terrible character as From has ever created. I don't care so much about the 70 billion deaths she delivered to me. But her in game actions and health regain break her lore. There's literally no way she'd ever lose to anyone especially slow dumb Radahn.

Radahn is not an optional boss, he needed to be patched. Malenia is optional and was designed to be the ultimate challenge for the players, so she can be broken.

It all comes down to Scarlet Aeonia. If bosses don't get struck by it, they have a chance against Malenia. Otherwise she takes the win or draws. If Radahn was an endgame boss, he would beat literally every boss because his meteor crash would be more destructive than it already is.
No beast clergyman phase meaning 10k hp Maliketh WITHOUT his first phase, aka a huge nerf. Maliketh flips around outside of his arena as well, no clear advantage was gained by the fight taking place in his arena. Malenia starts with health missing in the base game, that isn’t Maliketh’s doing. It’s probably related to the rot hurting her when she transforms or something.
@@Styx_Gaming The 10k hp includes Beast Clergyman in-game. So Maliketh is actually buffed here with having the same health pool but phase 2 the entire time. I agree with the arena though, it doesn't add that much. It just makes him more likely to jump.

So the fact that meliketh can stack it in phase 1, and then stack it while malenia scarlet aeonia is decent buff in malikeths favour. EDIT: can be seen clearly at 5:10

There are lore reasons for every two healthbar fight: Rennala´s second phase with full health-bar is an illusion. Malenia is Goddess of Decay and Rebirth, and after defeat she experiences rebirth that brings her one step closer to godhood. Rykard and Eiglay (serpent) are separate entities with their separate health-bars. Maliketh having only one health bar hammers home that he is just a regular beast (even though strong one), and it is his weapon, the Black Blade of Destined Death, which is exceptional.

Malenia starting her second phase with Flower of Doom is both a pro (can instantly rot almost anything) and con (leaves her vulnerable to Maliketh's death-swipes from afar).
Would be interesting to see another version of this fight where she starts her second phase on foot, if possible, as that also might enable her to utilize her full moveset, and also give Maliketh small chance to avoid debilitating rotting.
Also, this demonstrates wonderfully how demigods can't defeat fully resolved Maliketh, and only ones who might are probably Empyreans with their potential godhood; Malenia, Miquella and Ranni.
I think it is a disadvantage for her to start on foot. Against human players it eould be an advantage, but not against a computer like Maliketh. Because scarlet aeonia is the only way for her to catch up with maliketh on damage output. Her kifesteal and waterfowl is not good enough against destined death. Of course for us humans scarlet aeoni is such a good openjng to attack, and easily dodgeable. But maliketh prefers attacks that can be tanked instead of dodged

That was Maliketh's downfall, EVERY time. When RNG allowed him to jump around or stay away from her otherwise the start of her phase 2, Maliketh cleaned house.

@@drcox012whoa there - this sounds like a very personal beef you have going with Malenia. Maybe she wiped the floor with you one too many times? Or you just haven’t taken the time to fully understand her move-set… either way, she’s not even close to being their worst boss/character.
I would recommend fighting her with light roll, and learning her parry timings; then you might begin to respect her design more. The entire fight can either be incredibly satisfying, or ridiculously annoying, depending on how you choose to play. Her healing ability forces players to be precise and deliberate about every move they make; it’s a real (very optional) challenge, that takes a decent amount of dedication. This is what sets Fromsoftware apart from other developers, and this is why I keep coming back.
Also, the Radahn we fight is not in his prime; he was much quicker and a lot stronger when he fought Melania… so just consider that. Mang.
The means by which you started each new round were amazing. The way Maliketh seemingly did his "teleport out of a pillar" animation, followed by a "new" Malenia carefully walking on-screen, was a cool way to instill a "wait, what?" followed by a "ah, neat!" reaction from the audience. Also, Malenia teleporting in with a flurry of Aeonian Butterflies was polished and thematically appropriate. Of course, most of all, these were great fights!

-Placidusax= nuke must be instakill, poise breakable only when charging the nuke (recreating midir's infinite poise except from certain moments). More resistances.
-Rykard= immunity to statuses except sleep
-Maliketh= full health bar for phase 2, immunity to poisons and dd effect, roar does dmg, more poise dmg
-Godfrey= earthquakes must be instakill, roar dmgs, more resistance to statuses
-Radagon and Rennala= always parry spells, except physical ones and aoes. Rennala's moon must be instakill. Both should cure themselves.
Fire giant ph 2= flamethrower from belly must be instakill
Godrick= more dmg, more poise dmg, grab attack w dragon must be instakill
-Fortissax= more dmg, fire also causes deathblight, more health, immunity to poisons and statuses.
- Lansseax= more health, more dmg, more poise dmg, more resistance to bleeding and frost.
-sir gideon ofnir= at LEAST 7 estuses, can use perfumes and block our healing. Can summon spirits to keep players away.
-Elden beast= less mobility, more dmg, the holy rings must be instakill

Good fight, back to back without any interruption. This is a good idea to find out the true win rate between bosses. I think 60% win rate against Maliketh in his arena is as high as it gets. I've seen Fire Giant and Godfrey win in this arena, but they'd lose 9/10 imo

People are all commenting so much about Maliketh's AI but if u go with that, what about Malenia's AI? She is the most peaceful boss in her first stage and in second stage just sits on her scarlet aeonia, doesn't even move. If she starts with the same aggro as her second phase, Maliketh might not even survive her first stage.
The best version is just let them both duke it out in their second phase, remove scarlet aeionia attack from Malenia, give Maliketh extra HP and pray he wins.

chance to do her 2 most powerful attacks in every single fight no matter what. She also gets infinite hyper armor for one, and the 2nd one is a literal phase switch rot nuke teleport. Those happen in EVERY single fight. Maliketh isn’t fortunate enough to have that, so literally any time he loses against her, it’s because his AI didn’t do his good attacks and got him killed.
Maliketh here is severely buffed from starting full hp in phase 2 but that just makes the fight better cause gurrang phase is boring... so alright. Malenia starting with half hp in each rd of phase 2 was pretty annoying but I guess that's just a dev problem. Pretty sad Maliketh never got past the flower in the rds he lost, would have made the video more interesting. Should have done multiple fair phase 2 vs phase 2 attempts just to see, cause her phase 2 alone can beat full hp maliketh with good rng and without the flower.

People say that the scarlet aeonia carried but if she just started phase 2 she will have even greater win rate since she will not stay in one place for 5+ seconds getting hit. if she managed to bring him to half health with just phase 1 then getting the rest will not be a problem for her since she is twice as agressive in phase 2 and will kill him way faster then he can kill her.

I love the comments about Malenia's Rot "carrying" her once she phase transitions. That's her phase 2 gimmick, adding rot and starting it with Aeonia. Maliketh's is that he uses his sword, gains a ton of mobility and adds a percent based DOT. To make it fair and remove Malenia's rot would mean removing Maliketh's sword, additional mobility and Destined Death DOT as well, which would just be Beast Clergyman against phase one Malenia, and we all know that Malenia isn't losing that fight.

Malenia would crush him. She just has too many powerful skills. Scarlet Aeonia still does a lot of damage without the rot. Then there's Waterfowl Dance and the Clone attacks, both are killer moves. Don't forget Life Steal too. Even some of her regular attacks do so much damage, like the sword thrust, aerial slash, grab...
The attack recover decided Malenia will not lose any 1vs1 fight.
Without Destined Death there was no way Maliketh could fight against Malenia's lifesteal it looks like. Unless he just keeps staggering her, a single Waterfowl will bring her back to full.

So Maliketh still gets smoked by Malenia even with the odds artificially stacked in his favor (his arena, starts in phase 2 with full health, NG stats when be benefits more than she does because all his attacks are percent-based). This should solve the question of who sits on top of the boss hierarchy.
Still, it's pretty RNG because it's dependent on bosses using a specific move tree against another boss using a specific move tree to win. It could easily have been 5-5 or even Maliketh winning 6-4, but it really just depends if the game AI decides to use a move or not

It's nice to FINALLY see Maliketh fight in his own arena for once since a portion of his maneuvers utilize the pillars. I would still like to have seen a straight up fight though. In a few of the rounds he seemed to be, clunky. I can't really explain it. What program is used to make these fights?

Malenia, when she got to her second phase - the debuff from DD was still active, effectively bringing her health to 50% instead of 80% in which she usually begins.
This fight in my opinion is overall underwhelming because either DD melted Malenia’s HP before she could land a hit (in her second phase) or the rot destroyed Maliketh as soon as Malenia entered her second phase. There was no proper fight if you know what I mean..

The Malenia simps are out in force in these comments, she was designed to be an OP boss with 2 absolute nukes of attacks, health regeneration, a 2nd phase with a new health bar and scarlet rot. And even with all that, if the devs had given Maliketh's AI the common sense not to wander directly into her waterfowl/scarlet aeonia attacks, he'd win 9 times out of 10
He isn't even supposed to run into that phase 2 beginning attack not even the player stays there it was meant to be avoided and maliketh fought with 1 health bar while she had 2 health bars so maliketh wins easily

Prime Maliketh? Prime Maliketh would have all shards of the Black Blade, but you can see in his transition cutscene it looks jagged, missing lots of pieces from the people who took it from him.
Also starting at phase 2 is a no-brainer. He just starts as Beast Clergyman because he doesn't want to risk losing Destined Death, but if it's a demigod pulling up he lore-wise would start in phase 2. Malenia has two whole phases with two different health bars and Maliketh still won 4 rounds.
Also don't forget, this is Prime Malenia vs Weakened Maliketh since he's missing so many remnants.

Maliketh has only 10K health, both phases combined, while Malenia's both phases combined are 33K. Malenia has lifesteal. Malenia has a separate healthbar so even if Destined Death is spammed on her first one, her second phase won't have any more statuses.
Malenia's second phase basically is a death-sentence, and she opens with her Scarlet Aeonia, which has insane tracking and it always hits Maliketh even if he jumps away, it only misses if he does a specific move.
By the way, his being in his arena doesn't do much against Malenia. The "advantage" it brings he only does 1-3 times in each round, and it barely helps since it's just an extra move.
It helped twice, each time being good RNG so he jumped away from her Scarlet Aeonia. But overall, him being in his arena is not prime.
Also, it's not really a big deal that he starts with 100% health, because that's the bare minimum.
He in his prime would have lots of more health, lots of more moves, more powerful Destined Death, lots more of agility.
In the lore, his sword originally had all the shards of Destined Death, but assassins stole lots of remnants (you can see it so obviously in his transition cutscene) thus it's very jagged.
I'm not saying he would oneshot both phases of Malenia lore-wise both of them at their prime, I'm saying he would've probably made a 5-5, or won 6-4.
1. Being in his arena is a very minor advantage.
2. Being at max health is like, bare minimum because that's what it should be, but FromSoftware made us fight Gurranq against for some reason and his second phase doesn't start at 100%.
3. You're mistaking "advantages" as being in his prime and disregarding lore.
4. Such "advantages" are bare minimum compared to Malenia. She does Waterfowl 2-4 times a fight, hyperarmors through every attack, drains his health and heals from it, and it's very long as well.
Rot Goddess didn't physically attack once. Each battle was basically: Maliketh melting Malenia phase 1 -> phase 2 nuke and the outcome was determined by whether it triggered rot or not.
Dodging the flower and spamming death waves is literally how Maliketh ever gets to win.
Let her start as Rot Goddess and she eviscerates Maliketh 100% of the time regardless of whether her healing is activated or not and regardless of the arena.
Exactly, phase 2 Malenia is basically unstoppable. I also got annoyed that Maliketh couldn't get passed the flower to see what Goddess of rot could do, bit she either got screwed from starting with half hp or rekt Maliketh before she could do anything else... I guess there are many other videos but this one had the potential to give it to us many times in a row, smh... wasted potential

Would it be possible to make a video of Maliketh facing bosses but with his destined death disabled? We all know DD is insanely strong. It is if not, the only reason Maliketh rakes up victories in most BvB battles. It would be very interesting to see how he would perform if DD didn’t do percentage based damage.

There is a guy who did that in one of his videos. He had Maliketh's destined death turned off and while he could still throw slashes of DD, they just did blunt force damage instead of damage over time. He actually fared better than I had expected, though obviously he would have destroyed every boss he went up against if he had his destined death

It won't, as you could see in the cutscene, Malenia was able to kill him even in her first phase. The only problem is that Malenia is not primed to start melee from the range at which Maliket's script is activated, so she mostly just takes his hits, if she doesn't, then she won't need Red Aeonia to win.

Maliketh is stronger since Destined Death is stronger than Aeonia. Plus, Malenia has 2 full health bars, here Maliketh has 1 but normally has 1/2 health bar (1/4 Malenia's), and I am not talking about actual HP.
Malenia won just because Maliketh didn't always dodge Waterfowl Dance and Aeonia, but, overall, he dodges attacks better than her.

It all comes down to Scarlet Aeonia. If bosses don't get struck by it, they have a chance against Malenia. Otherwise she takes the win or draws.
If Radahn was an endgame boss, he would beat literally every boss because his meteor crash would be more destructive than it already is.

Malenia starts with health missing in the base game, that isn’t Maliketh’s doing. It’s probably related to the rot hurting her when she transforms or something.
@@Styx_Gaming The 10k hp includes Beast Clergyman in-game. So Maliketh is actually buffed here with having the same health pool but phase 2 the entire time. I agree with the arena though, it doesn't add that much. It just makes him more likely to jump.
@@Styx_Gaming when malenia changes phase, status such as frost, poison, rot, blackflame dot, destind death dot are removed, like starting the fight again. if you beat malenia with black flame dot, or detined death dot, that wont carry over to phase 2. So the fact that meliketh can stack it in phase 1, and then stack it while malenia scarlet aeonia is decent buff in malikeths favour. EDIT: can be seen clearly at 5:10

There are lore reasons for every two healthbar fight:
Rennala´s second phase with full health-bar is an illusion.
Malenia is Goddess of Decay and Rebirth, and after defeat she experiences rebirth that brings her one step closer to godhood.
Rykard and Eiglay (serpent) are separate entities with their separate health-bars.
Maliketh having only one health bar hammers home that he is just a regular beast (even though strong one), and it is his weapon, the Black Blade of Destined Death, which is exceptional.
