The AP does look like a Michael Kors watch... it's bad.
I personally think it’s a great looking watch but even if I had fuck you money and didn’t give a shit about resale value, I most likely wouldn’t buy one because I rarely if ever wear dress watches. I think the case design is awesome and the dial looks great so if they could create a sportier version with some of the same sort of design elements, I think it would be quite successful. I’m sure the build quality and finishing quality are absolutely top notch. I would just like to see them put all of that money and energy toward a new, more casual, every day wearing sort of piece.

I'm in the minority. I like the case. I like the domed saphire glass. I like the dials on the Chrono. But the dial on the 3 hander....oy vey. Nasty. It's got room to grow though I think.
the 11.59 (such a stupid name) has these hollow lugs that only fix to the bezel... its just awful..

The problem is that AL thinks of luxury watches as a commodity to be bought and sold and the resale index as a mark of its "worth".
But that's not the reason why people buy luxury items. Some people buy it feeling they are buying craftsmanship (or is that craftspersonship in our day of nauseating political correctness?).
Most people buy luxury items, let's admit it, to show off. To say to others, "Look what I can afford because that's how well off I am." Or, "I'm better than you."
Most people don't think of resale value when they buy boutique items. Most people know that when they buy that brand new Porsche today that it's going to be depreciated tomorrow. But that's not the point of buying a Porsche, is it?
You buy a $10000 Brioni suit, have it fitted, and you think you're going to be able resell it later for what you bought it? Hell no. You bought it to wear today and feel oh so superior to the rabble wearing a Sears suit.
You buy a Mercedes AMG today and it won't even be worth the trade in for a Camry in a few years. But that's not why you would buy a Mercedes.
Buying luxury boutique items is not always about a commodity to be bought, sold and flipped later for a profit. It's about being able to be a snob now!
Buy a Rolex because you want a Rolex. If you want an investment, skip the Rolex and buy a bar of gold and wear it on your wrist and it will probably be worth more later after the Rolex fever dies.
