Wile the fig trees look nice i wont have them near my place if i can help it....house i grew up in was lifted and pushed off its foundation by roots from one....only took 6 years from when the house was built to the time cracks started....thenew owner bought it as a write of 20 years in lived in it for 2 years and demolished it and built a demountable in place abd kept the tree

In Oz we rarely have basements. Houses are mostly either built on slabs or low foundations. However, we also have idiot landscapers who just love to cover up outdoor inspection openings (cleanouts).
I am thinking it might have something to do with the weather we get in the Northern and Midwest States. The freezing and such. Not sure but thinking it probably does.

Looks to me like you need the newest jet on the website where you buy your stuff at, the one that cleaned the pipe with all of the roots in it. That looked like the jet to have, it shoots water forwards and reverse. Looked like a huge time saver!
Why not before you start if theres dirt dig a trench 2 to 3 feet away to a small hole you dig so if it over pours as it does it doesnt go everywhere it goes down your whole untill you unclog or fix then not such a mess just asking
Cost. You could make them out of stainless steel but it would be very expensive. Most people prefer to put their money into parts of the house you can see..

There is more birds in Sydney at the moment because of how dry it has been west over the mountains. They come to the coast when in drought out west.
