I love the fact a plumber was there previously and couldn't get the job done. The curbside drain was completely chockers! Nothing was going through it. So many leaves , branches and decomposed leaves in it was an earthworm's paradise! Come late August the smell from the street side sewer grates is downright awful from the decomposition. We do have sucker trucks from time to time to fix the problem in Illinois. Crocky loves his mud baths! The driveway cleanup was very satisfying to see. Excellent job Ollie!

Your work at that storm drain is randomly reminding me of what New Orleans (Louisiana, USA) went through halfway recently. The did a progress assessment for all of the post hurricane Katrina improvements and discovered their drains were becoming the new weak point in the pumping systems. So, they had pumping capacity to prevent flooding, but the drains were getting plugged with debris (so the water wouldn't move even if they wanted it to).

All those drains he unclogs are all county/city/municipal drains, but he doesn't work for any of those lol. I think he just goes around clearing drains for the fun of it. Almost like all the Governments or councils as this happens everywhere that they take the Don't fix it if it isnt broken too seriously as no maintenance what to ever thats kept Drains in running and working order with no blockage

They take take the American approach.... Fix it when it becomes a problem, not before. I say that as an American. Anyways, it also has to do with money and i imagine many jut don't think about that stuff often or at all; only when the stuff they're used to stops working (correctly). If only the majority could learn preventative maintenance.... but then Ollie might not be having as much fun.

When street stormwater drains like that in my area start getting clogged up with organic debris, we simply call the city and they send out a wetvac contractor to fully clear the basin.
I hope you charge the city for that. As always Oliver, above and beyond what others do. 👍 Edit: as you Aussies say "that was Chockers". Good work Oliver.

Finally you using something to sit on instead of squatting down all the time. Might I suggest Ollie you grab a milk crate and carry it around in your van. For two reasons, first you can sit on it, instead of squatting or kneeling in crap or human waste. Second you could carry it in your van and you said to carry things from your van to where your working. Either that or bring back your trustee blue Esky that you used to carry all your stuff in before including the crowd favourite "the old double barrel". Lease then you might be inclined to use him more often and take him out of retirement. Just some suggestions for you wally to make your job easier.
