  • You are not prepared for what is to come. #DunePartTwo - Only in theaters March 1. Tickets are on sale NOW. fandan.co/Dune
The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), Souheila Yacoub (“The Braves,” “Climax”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures Present A Legendary Pictures Production, A Film By Denis Villeneuve, “Dune: Part Two.” The film is slated for a March 1, 2024 release in theaters and IMAX nationwide and internationally beginning on 28 February 2024, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Book wise, Gaius knew she was completely out of her league when dealing with Alia, then paul stepped in to overshadow that. To be fair though Alia is batshit insane and is rightfully titled a abomination.

Modern special effects movies don't respect the audience. Visually the star wars movies are very good though the choreagraphy of some of the sword fights varies on the movie. I think a better criticism would be the comic book movies, and anything that relies on motion blurr to give the feeling of action when in reality it's just low fidelity.

It is incredibly massive and Denis, being a fan himself, understood that the world building was absolutely necessary and to not rush the story to get to the action. I'm glad people get to see that pay off in this second part and bring Dune to a whole new generation of sci-fi and film fans who maybe didn't know much about it. Can't wait to see it this week.

For the simple reason that once you conquered the planet you need to find new enemies to ensure your own conquest is not overun. Which means the in the end endless war is the ultimate power.
All invasions ended in failure since they stopped invading and they didn't united the people to defeat a common enemy. Instead they created themselves as the ultimate enemy.

Still amazes me that Denis was able to surround himself with equally talented people to make this thing work.. Adapting Dune always felt like an impossible task and yet here we are witnessing it in our lifetimes.

Yeah, though this cinematic masterpiece is definitely lessened by the presence of Zendaya in it. The less screen time she has, the less the visual brilliance of this movie will be compromised. Definitely Villeneuve's most detrimental casting choice.

@@JNB0723 Zendaya may be many things, but fine isn't one of them. Mia Khalifa would have been a more fitting casting choice than her. Also probably a better actress.

@@axelhopfinger533Same philosophy that went into the casting choices for _Rings of Power, the Willow series, Wheel of Time..._ We're lucky Dune didn't end up being a complete dud like those shows, which is what seems to happen when the list of priorities is topped by the message you want to send instead of the quality of the show. But at the same time, 74 on Metacritic isn't exactly high praise either. The movie was a slog, and honestly the only thing I see rescuing Part 2 from the same fate is the uptick on the action.

Best sci-fi film I've seen in many, many years. Absolute masterpiece, no notes. Go see it in the theaters on the biggest screen you can with the best sound. What a triumph of nuanced art. Hats off to Denis, cast, crew and everyone involved. Can't wait to see it again😄

Underrated opinion: The most epic part of this trailer for me was seeing Paul yell “Silence!” at the Reverend Mother with The Voice as she did to him in the first one. Perfect way to get back at her 🔥

Very rude to scream at his grandma like that. ;)
But yes, epic moment, only riveled by the emergence of the sandworms into the final battle. Plus the shot of the universally feared Sardukar running in terror from them.
