      Kind of, initial kicks still need to be behind scrimmage like in American, and tackles stop play like in American and Rugby League

    I have said it before and I will say it again and again. I LOVE THE CFL.

    That Double Punt with a return for a TD in 1995 game between Saskatchewan and Baltimore is so weird...

      And even more weirder is that Baltimore is from the US not Canada. And it was the year of Baltimore winning the Grey Cup and people in Canada is crying

      @@jamesqualls8125 it's not that weird. CFL had a US expansion that could've worked if not for NFL sticking their nose in others business.

    That last play is... unique. But yeah, you can just gave a safety in the last seconds of the game if you up by at least 3 points.

      Far less bullshit than what the Ravens did to the Bengals to run out the clock a handful of seasons ago.

    Yes! One more compilation of crazy/unusual plays in CFL! Crazy Football League is about to start its 66th season and what's the best way to prepare yourself than to watch some of the craziest moments?

    Why does CFL teams not do more onside punts? I know that CFL and Rugby Union are 2 different games, but their are a lot of examples of Rugby teams doing an onside punt, the idea is almost the same as in the CFL and still being able to get under the ball and recover

    • @cflhighlights9370
      @cflhighlights9370  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It takes a long time to run all the way down the field, often times the other team will get it directly first anyway. If you saw the Calgary @ Ottawa and Hamilton @ Saskatchewan games from this year, both times they tried them but the only thing stopping it from working was the other team landing on the ball first.
      They should be tried more often though, I fully agree, but the guarantee they'll work is not 100%.

      This question ties into my other post. With a onside punt attempt, is the defense allowed to block the offensive players trying to recover the onside punt?

      @@TheAseer2020 Couldn't cite the rulebook on that one but I don't see why not.
      The only thing not allowed is for an onside player to absolutely truck the returner just because the onside player is exempt from No Yards. Also, if an onside player simultaneously recovers the ball with the returner, it goes to the returner.
      I made a video explaining this stuff a while back, feel free to check it out. It's under my "rule explanations" playlist.

    Just when I thought I had a good understanding on the Kicking rules, this video kindly let me know that I do not.
    The one play where there's a fumble at the snap, a defensive player kick the fumble ball toward their oppositions goal, and they end up scoring a touchdown. However it's called back for interference with a loose ball. I thought that anybody can legally kick the ball at any time. I guess there's some restrictions. So how does interference with a loose ball work?

    • @cflhighlights9370
      @cflhighlights9370  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interference on a loose ball is when you shove a player out of the way who has the opportunity to recover the ball. Basically like pass interference for a fumble. Kicking the ball along the ground is permitted but you can't interfere with someone who has the opportunity to do that.
      I have a whole compilation of this kind of play coming out soon including one where the touchdown stood.
      Here's an example: th-cam.com/video/sa_8tlXGev4/w-d-xo.html

      Thank you for your reply I just read the rule in the rule book. So pretty much when a fumble happens you can't block anyone from attempting to recover the fumble, you have to play the ball not the player

    • @TheAseer2020
      @TheAseer2020 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also I do believe the rule book says that this is also true on a dribbled kick, which I think is the same thing as like a grubber kick in rugby. I think, however, the devil is on the details, and this issue just got a lot more confusing to me. Now I need to figure out when you can block someone and when you cannot block someone.

      @@TheAseer2020 This is a dribble kick, kicking a loose ball is a dribble kick. The short 1 yard onside punt that lots of people on the internet call a dribble kick is actually just...a short punt.

    Yeah. Antwi tried to kick the ball against BC and just missed the ball entirely.
