@@George_Gogo01 Because not everyone has access to "lifelink" abilities. That includes dragons. Not every character is a mary/gary sue who can just do 'anything.'
Also, if the offsprings are involved - it's likely the parents will be too.
Mental transformations are almost always more dangerous than physical ones. She may not have changed physically, but she could tell that something _did_ change from how out-of-character she was acting.
I never get tired of this kind of ending.

Although she's a gumiho, she's basically a more violent version of a kitsune. These foxes themselves are hard to handle and in addition to their strength, you have to have an interesting personality to keep them from killing you. But in general, it's possible to have a relationship with them. gumiho are deadly, but this one has locked herself in her own technique, making her not dangerous.@@Azusashusband
@germanfox787 Its true that in many stories (and especially in the west its what they're known for) gumihos are extremely violent vampiric bloody liver heart eaters. Truth is Gumihos are mischievous like a kitsune and in some stories they only eat to ascend to a further being. One that falls in love with a human or refrains from eating for too long loses their lust for blood. Gumihos are more power hungry if anything since livers got that sweet sweet power boost that can help them ascend. (Its what the marble (basically their soul) is for). (For the record my first comment was a joke). You're referring to the one from the SCP foundation right? Gumihos can feel love, sadness, jealousy, bloodlust, yeah in simple terms they're a more violent kitsune but it isn't as simple as that. No the real distinguisher is actually the fox bead (which is the marble). A common trope for gumiho is their desire to become human (refrain from blood/ascending) which is another difference from its japanese counterpart
@@Azusashusband I know about the bead, in some myths this bead can be stolen. I wasn't talking specifically about the SCP girl, I was talking about all of them. Kitsune have specializations and 2 advancements from evil flesh eaters, to messengers of the gods. Gumiho are lacking in that regard. If a kitsune can basically never engage in killing, a gumiho would still have to get her hands dirty in blood (half-breeds excluded). And as I wrote later, you can still have a relationship with them, but you have to be physically and mentally strong enough not to die, which is hard to call a normal relationship.
@germanfox787 i don't know much about kitsune but i do know a lot about gumiho. So i can't say anything about the kitsune part. Actually I do know about the ones that are gods messengers but thats it. Gumihos in Korean myth can go without bloodying their hands but its the greatest test of patience for them depending on the story though. Some gumiho stories state when they reach having 9 tails they lose that bloodlust as part of their ascension. If you go to the gumiho wiki and go to the talk section, I made a thread called "an interesting difference" or smth like that and theres a link provided which links to actual ancient gumiho stories from korea. Also that korean wiki is much better for gumiho readings since well its korean. Theres a built in translating button but you're gonna have to find it. (For the wiki the stories idk how you can translate those). I do know this about kitsune and gumiho
Both are worshipped but Kitsune are worshipped more and considered less demonic in Japanese myth. Actually another creature the Dokkaebi basically has taken their place (their is no equivalent in chinese or Japanese myth for the dokkaebi, but the closest thing to it is the Japanese Oni)
But back to the gumiho. Here are things that are commonly mistaken
-Not Kitsune only Gumiho have 9 tails while Kitsune is a broad term
-Violent in many stories but not all. Also have ways to stop eating (ie, refraining or falling in love, ascensing, etc). Some just come built in without the bloodlust (or in the story they were introduced they overcame it). In even older stories they were naive fools and non violent.
-Have links to buddhism with its orb. While some kitsune have an orb its not the same. This orb is used to gather souls of humans to ascend. Its why they seduce people they want the human souls by kissing it out of them.
If you accidentally take the orb out of their mouth and eating it you get the knowledge of the heavens or the earth depending on if you up or down respectively. When this happens the gumiho will either die, die slowly, basically lose most their supernatural abilities if they live, or turn to bubbles. again depending on story. The gumiho often ascend from gumiho to human or gumiho to dragon levels of divinity depending on story. (Dragons also have orbs in Korean myth) (Koreans just love their marbles)

Every time an interspecies story appears, we already know it ends with marriage and babies. It's just a question of "how" and "why" it happens which is the real twist.

In the original version of this myth, at least in Korean version, the nine-tailed fox seduce hundreds or thousands of men to devour their liver to consume their "human essence" so that she can transcend to a human being. That being said, this guy can singlehandedly supply all the "human essence" the fox needs, even without killing himself. What a true legend.
