@@lurker5087 it's a bit too bright and colorful indeed. They should have targeted the feel of the opening CGI cinematic, which still is dark and ashen but not as muted and sepia-like as the game. Still looks great for a fan project.
Thats because ue5 is usually really bland and brown opposed to ue4, it works with dark souls but its sad that we are going back to bland boring graphics for realism like its the ps3 days

That's the first UE5 remake mockup I've seen that actually looks decent. Presented as a real thing I could've been fooled if the lighting wasn't a dead giveaway.
That's because they changed the lighting only, the 3D assets are the same (or almost the same). Most of UE5 mockups are made with generic assets, taking away all the artistic style of the game.

there's some visibility concerns, but i particularly love how you tried to make sense of its linear terrain in a world that is supposed to be open. you connected the backdrop to the gameplay area instead of the way it just hangs in the air in the original. would buy a remake like this immediately.
this video proves that sometimes you just cannot tell on what game engine footage was recorded from. Especially how flawlessly animation looks. I cannot tell if it's same adapted animation took from the game or completely made from the scratch. Very well made, i wish i had same patience learning game engine 😄
Absolutely phenomenal work! If you add more to this, please keep us updated! Also, my one and only critique would be this: In-game, Firelink Shrine has a little bit of a blue ambient light throughout. I know it's not realistic, but I think that sort of adds to the feel of Firelink Shrine and Dark Souls III as a whole. Maybe adding a subtle light could emulate that effect. Regardless though, this looks stunning!

You know, this could be a start of a cool animation project if someone was willing to mess with it - I know Unreal 4/5 have animation tools akin to Source Filmmaker in-engine that people have been using lately, and I feel like one of the great detractors from some lore videos in Fromsoft games is the lack of custom animations to characters where needed due to engine/cheatengine limitations. It's kind of a dream of mine, actually, to be the one to animate short segments of ancient lore of the Souls series done in the perspective of characters from the period. Keep up the good work, hope your study of Unreal 5 leads to great things.

At first i thought this was gonna be an awful asset flip with poor animations and bad shaders (since most UE recreations videos are). This is surprisingly well done, no extrapolations and you're actually using the game's movement system and camera, which may or may not be a pre-made package but still, either way it's more effort than any average UE "remake" video. Pretty good!
This looks amazing!!! I’m a souls newcomer with 150+ into Elden Ring, and I’ve been interested in checking out the other games in the series. When I saw how Dark Souls 3 originally looked, I thought it was weird how it wasn’t graphically up to par with something like Uncharted 4, Doom 4, or Battlefield 1, that all came out the same year. Not that graphics are everything in a game. This is exactly how I imagine it looking in a modern day remaster. I love it!!!

That looked surprisingly incredible. Honestly, if I had to male a comparison, it looked like you brought a trailer from Dark souls 2 or 3, and made it into a playable game. Now, all the game would need is some fixes to make some areas gloomy as they're supposed to be, but otherwise I can't wait to see how this would look for Lothric Castle, Earthen Peak, The Ringed City, Anor Londo, Irithyll Dungeons, and the Ariadel painting. This looks very cinematic, I can't wait to see how you will expand on it if you ever do!

When you did that iconic Shield Bag that's how i am fully convinced this really is done by a passionate animator and souls fan rather than those other "projects" which looks fake as heck and looks as if the animator just mashed random free assets from unity store and PNGs and call them "Concept Trailers" so they can get their views and clicks... Well done,This reminds of RRe36,another passionate dude who's been working on recreating Batman Arkham games on the Unreal Engine 4 which is just as mighty impressive as yours. Listen. You need to fire up a kickstarter campaign. Get funding because this looks beyond phenomenal. There is a large number of motivated modders who would be valuable to add to your team to iron out porting weapons, items, enemies, bosses and sharpen up the physics of the game on the engine. You might wanna also improvise if you want like adding the jump mechanic and jump attacks from Elden Ring, restoring some cut paths and content like the loop of Smouldering Lake connecting to Irythill dungeon…etc. You have a fantastic project on your hand and you can make a LOT of money because a huge number of people Love this game and consider it the best soulsborne one out there. You really can't do that with projects like this... on account that every asset/ is technically considered "stolen". Gotta have some pretty clear "just for fun" disclaimers when taking assets from a mega company like From haha
Amazing. I usually disregard these "games in unreal" because they don't look like the originals at all but this straight up looks like the game but better.
@@RedAlpha101 It is kinda heavy since it uses Lumen for global illumination, but I did what I could to optimize it for 60fps. I'm using an RTX 3070 and I get 60fps throughout the entire map.
Those are mostly the same assets the original game uses, right? In that case it's just incredible how much of a difference a better GI model makes (of course the talent of the composer makes a huge difference as well). Well done indeed. The game looks so much better.
A lot of assets from old games look really good when in UE5, lighting and proper bump-maps etc really what sells looks for graphics. Like for example, Halo 3 and Reach armors look really good in UE5 because of the lighting. Higher fidelity engines like UE5 make things really pop and come to life.
Here, take my money. If this was real I would instantly buy this. I'd love to see a true remake of the ds games, like how bluepoint did for demons souls. That would be an instant purchase for me, no need to even think about it

No bluepoint understands artistic style. This looks like a copy paste job in to UE5 while removing any effects. Looks bland and dull.

its not just GI model, you can see what changing only GI looks like in Metro Exodus RTX on vs off,
amount of changes here is huge
