The colors all mean the level of support. Blue - means anchored to the ground. Green stable. Orange not good, may fall over time. Red will break. If you have the supports anchored to the ground everything will be blue etc.. it’s like building a real structure.

Hey boss! You can snap support pillars under existing ones, but also it doesn't need to line up perfectly, as long as it's touching somehow it works. the supports you said are 3/4 under the floors are actually on the edges of the floors, the texture is just weird. Buildings take damage from rain if they have no roof, so if it was raining before you put the roof on it that's why they were damaged. Birch trees need a Copper axe, but you can also get Fine Wood from shipwrecks along the coast, breakable with a Flint axe. As always, a great video. Game is fun.
Supports work as such: If the part is green/blue you're good to go,if it's red/orange it needs support. So either a pillar,wall etc under and it should change to green/blue color when you hover over it. Also,if you don't have a roof on a building,like just the walls and floor is on then the weather damages everything. Can't use floor tiles as ceiling either,HAS TO BE thatch roof pieces in order to cover the base,prevent damage and give you the sheltered/rested buff.
LOL...great game! The first time the forest moved on me, I couldn't figure out what I did to piss the graydwarfs off! I bet PvP battles would be awesome in this...or a whole war where your viking team takes land or something.
you can stack chest inside your house if you use the small floors :) can also make bunkbeds this way. saved me alot of space since we're placing with 8 people, also you can place 3 meat racks on 1 campfire + you can add a campfire inside if you make a chimney
15:32 Did it rain while you were building? Because rain damages exposed structures. Once you added the roof, the damage would've stopped. Keep this in mind when placing things like workbenches and woodpiles outside. Keep an eye on that dock as well.

Another thing I notice is you do NOT need a new fire for each cooking station. Make your fire then add 3 cooking stations closer together, if needed you can add another 3 cooking stations at 9 degrees to the first set of 3.
If you don't build enough support everything connected takes slow decaying damage. You need green colored building parts, anything non green will cause connected parts to decay. For cooking on a fire pit you can add multiple cooking racks, I use 3 in a triangle shape around the fire, or if you prefer use two and place a cauldron where the third one would go so you can cook 4 meat and use a cauldron on one fire.
Now time for dungeons in the black forest . Unlock copper and get them hard trees down. Also tip campfires can have 4 racks over top 3 is easy 4 can be tricky .
If you look at a floor piece you will notice 4 planks, BUT between planks 3 & 4 you will notice a dark line that some mistake for the edge of that floor square. So you need SUPPORT after each FOURTH floor square. You may also notice that if you build up walls above 4 walls you lack support for wall level 5. To get round this use the larger upright beams every 4th wall piece.
The reason your structure was damaged all over is because wood structures take damage from the rain when there is no roof overhead. Stake walls and fences are ok but most other wood structures will take damage.

Sl1p grande, i think the weathering of the house walls and stuff and things comes from being exposed to the weather without a roof, you will see it on your porch as time passes. Also, i fit 3 food racks in each fire, one centered and two by itS sides, nice to save space.
Didn't read all the comments slip, but in case nobody told you if your structure is not covered by a roof all wooden structures take damage except for the palisade wall and rooves unless they are covered
I need to show you my little town I am starting by myself lol. I have 3 buildings so far at the bottom of a hill by the water. The plan is to turn the entire hill into a nice town with defenses and gates. I just got the first actual boat that you get after the raft. So that helps, along with my bronze equipment now (pickaxe/axe/sword etc). Now I am working on finishing up my gear and enclosing my forge/smelter/kiln. Then off to kill the second boss
Mods, that's how they built it. There is a mod that removes the structural integrity. Also there is a mod that allows you to use tools/weapons while swimming.
If you wana make a base on the water you can use the hose to raise ground it takes a while but you can raise ground thill you get in the middle of the ocen or find a small island and raise the ground there i made my self a island base and even made my self a road and stuff
Only the greylings and the ones throwing the rocks at you won't disturb u. But so far, the brute and the shaman with the 2star bigger red ones will actually run after light, trying to destroy it.

Also carrying a tool or weapon makes your stamina go down much faster. Hit R to put them away when you're running.

Holding shift will allow free placement and is very useful for more optimized placing. It lets you place supports much easier as well

Try your new flint axe in the Black Forrest, maybe it can chop down the trees (Pine and Fir trees) there

You can place more than one cooking station per fire pit. i have 5 on top of my one fire.
Maybe build a base near water, then dig a channel and flood land after build is done?!

The damage to your building was weathering. Any building piece not under a roof will take damage, especially when it rains.
You lose the sheltered status when stood at a window but if you put 1x1 flooring above them then you keep sheltered and I like the look of it

Plant . Them im pretty sure . But there is plenty of trees to be chopped down lol. But after you get copper you can can make your farming equipment.

The back porch needs repairing and, I think, the dock too. For some reason I'm thinking the buildings decay but not sure why I'm thinking that.
