Roshan Taqui sb is a pole star historian who with his command over persian, urdu and local dialects has unearthed facts which are not revealed to the pro British and British writers. Researching about the life of Wajid Ali Shah without referring to his masnavis is like reading only the cover page of a book. Hats off for the present day custodian of Awadh history.

लखनऊ का पर्यायवाची अगर कोई शब्द या नाम है तो वो है "डा0 रौशन तक़ी सर", लगता है कि लखनऊ डा0 रौशन तक़ी सर के क़लम और ज़ुबान में ही अहाता है।
पूछो जो फिर के आए हैं यां हर दयार से,
देखा न होगा गुल इक ऐसा हज़ार में।
मुन्नी लाल ’जवाँ’ का ये शेर चाहे आप लखनऊ के ज़ैल में लें या रौशन तक़ी सर के ज़ैल में, एक ही बात है।
British loyal writers ने अवध की तारीख़, तहज़ीब और तमद्दुन को पूरी तरह से मस्ख़ करने में अपना एड़ी चोटी का ज़ोर लगा दिया लेकिन रौशन तक़ी सर ने हक़ाएक़ की रौशनी में अस्ल लखनऊ को पेश किया है, इतने अज़ीम कारहाए नुमायां के बावजूद सर का इख़्लास लासानी है। लखनऊ और अवध पर सर के एहसानात का तख़्मीना करना बहुत मुश्किल ही नहीं, नामुमकिन है। हिमांशु भाई आप बहुत ही भाग्यशाली हैं जो आपको इतनी अज़ीम शख्स़ियत की सोह्बत हासिल है।
