    Please do more TP-Link Omada videos! Anything with more complex VLANs/Firewall Rules or maybe some tips and tricks people may not know about or how to use. Your videos on Omada have been great so far but I am going to switch over to Omada for my network because it's reasonably priced and would appreciate any and all info you can give. Thanks!

    Don’t forget to enable 802.11K and R for a fast roaming experience under advanced WiFi settings. This will help with clients automatically hopping from one AP to the next.

    When you do these speed tests please show the settings used for the WiFi. Bandwidth (20, 40, or 80), and channel used. I also suggest tests at default and then with the 2.4GHz width set to 20 and then with the 5GHz set to 80. Without knowing the settings it makes it very hard to compare and contrast different APs

      Everything was set to default which I mentioned in the video. The 2.4 was at 20 and the 5 was at 40

      Mactelecom, i actually got the eap 620 HD, not the 660…. My question is off of my modem/router, my internet is pushing anywhere from 500-700mbps, my home is small, and I installed it centrally. I am testing speeds under the access point, and im only getting like 60-90mbps… what am I doing wrong.

    great comparison, like some before this comment, U6 LR vs this haha
    btw, too bad we cant mix and match , lol, the TP link is easier to. obtain vs Unifi U6 LR in asia.

  • @pbrigham
    @pbrigham 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, you need a SPF+ adapter to RJ45 1/2.5/5 and 10G so you can plug it directly on SPF+ port on the agregator switch and have all the connections from 1 to 10G to make this tests, spite, I can't see how is possible to saturate that 2.5G Nic connection on the EAP660HD

    • @MactelecomNetworks
      @MactelecomNetworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Im getting a couple 2.5gb switches in a few week the agg switch only allows for either 1gb or 10gb nothing in between

      @@MactelecomNetworks ok that will do obvious, but check this out "Mikrotik S+RJ10 - RJ45 SPF+ 10/100/1000M 2.5G/5G/10G Copper Module" and you have from Unifi also, not only do 2.5/5/10G you have to pick the ones that do, this one from Mikrotik will do for sure and work with any SPF+ Switch.

    This needs to be cheaper, Ubiquity WIFI6 has the Lite for $99 and the LR for $180, while this is $200, it needs to be at least $150.

    • @MactelecomNetworks
      @MactelecomNetworks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Damn I knew I forgot something in the video. Probably the most important and it was the price! Fail. I agree it should be about the same price as the unifi 6 Lr

      @Pabula 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MactelecomNetworks TP Link has a line that seems very completive, Omada is like clone of ubiquity unifi, but its not there yet, it needs to be cheaper so people will adopt it, imo $180 for the LR so the EAP660HD should be $150 at the most, the $200 thats retailing on amazon... i will never recommend it over the LR.

      EAP660HD
      - 2.5 Gbps ethernet port
      - 5 GHz: Up to 2402 Mbps
      - 2.4 GHz: Up to 1148 Mbps
      U6-AC-LR
      - 1 Gbps ethernet port
      - 5GHz: Up to 2.4 Gbps
      - 2.4GHz: Up to 600 Mbps
      So, TP-Link has better 2.4GHz speeds and ethernet port.
      I'm still sticking with UniFi since they are for the most part prosumer all the way and have more network products that integrate with the single controller/interface. Plus, the amount of times they push out updates. TP-Link will probably stop pushing out firmware updates after a year and half (or do so at a very slow pace)
      UniFi also practically never has discounts...which means you could resell your AP and only lose a few $ from original purchase.
      Also, I'm not a fan of TP-Link's design for Omada APs. They look bulky and/or outdatedish in comparsion to UniFi.
      It's nice to have alternatives, though. More competition for UniFi in this area. :)

      TP-Link EAP620 and EAP660 also use more expensive broadcom chips, compared to the cheaper Realtek chips in the Unifi AP's.
      There are differences in the AP lines from each company.
