These words struck me hard. I’m German and we life with the shame of the holocaust since 75 years. No Jewish person has to walk down a street that’s named after a Nazi general. The flags were banned for decades. Nazi literature is banned and we have thousands of monuments that remind us of the big suffering we inflicted on innocent people. As a German I life with that shame and all I can do is to take the memories of all the people who got killed and carry it with me. I think white Americans are so afraid to face their shame and to face their inheritance of slavery that they prefer to live in a racist society. That is not like justice works. White people are allowed to ignore their shame. Black people cant ignore racism. Today young Israelis love Berlin and move there because it’s so cheap and hip. They don’t like to talk about the holocaust anymore and they are absolutely allowed to ignore what happened. It’s the duty of the grand children and the grand grand children of the murderers to carry the burden of guilt and commemorate the people we as a nation failed horribly. I think white Americans are finally ready to listen. I think black Americans have a lot to talk about.

It seems like most minorities don't get the fact that they will not be considered an insider in the social strata that has been built in the United States. @A FreeOne , I don't know how old you are, but everything you have stated above is conservatism, this sounds more like the Republican Party. Have you taken a look at Trump, and your base lately?
I don't know why 🤷🏻♀️ but Trevor talking about his mother just melts my heart... God bless you Kimberley Jones. God bless you Trevor Noah. God bless your mom, Trevor 💕
He genuinely respects women and especially Black women, having been raised by one. It's refreshingly pure. Plus, it's nice to see that he's never forgotten his humble beginnings/where he comes from. So many of us work so hard, day in + out, to escape our origins for whatever reason. Trevor has never let his true essence go. It's the reason why he's so well-rounded, in my humble opinion. I'm such a fan! 🤩 LOL.
Trevor seems like such a kind, humble man. I listened to his audiobook, "Born A Crime", and it's one of the best books I've ever listened to. His mom is a wonderful woman. I'll be looking for Kimberley Jones's book too. God bless them indeed!
".....Warrior cop instead of the guardian of the community that we actually deserve." Yes. This. I think the reason _why_ someone goes into police work is one of the most important things the police force isn't asking its applicants. Do you want to "catch bad guys"? Or do you want to protect the community of which you yourself are a part?
@AleEvaMari Really glad to hear you say that. I've been thinking that myself and also that any applicant should have their backgrounds checked for prior associations with white supremacists. I also think that any currently employed officers with white supremacists or with known racist attitudes should be fired. I also believe that D.A.'s should also be stripped of their immunity. I mean WTF - who are they to be held as being "above the law"?!
@Artist and Fitness Model is that your excuse for there being a bunch of PWT white people doing as you racists like to say "taking advantage of the system"? I don't even know why you came to this channel to mess with black people along with the other guy. Y'all will get bodied in the comment section lol. It made me cry; she really struck a chord with her honesty. As a woman, I have dealt with inequality all of my life. As a professional, the men were more interested in my build than my brains. And it's been easy for me compared to my black sisters. We are Sandra Bland.
As a white man who grew up in Los Angeles for the past 42 years, filled with racial awareness and inclusion, having felt like nothing but an advocate for equality... Kimberly's live speech opened my eyes and mind more than anything I've ever experienced. Holy s#it! Truth is powerful Much love and EMPATHY, everyone. Much love.
Two amazing people having such a great conversation. I could soak this up for hours. Trevor and Kimberly have really opened my eyes and deepened my understanding of racial injustice in the USA.

We all accept the fact that discrimination exists (black and white) to varying degrees in different places but we hear of how terrible things are in the USA with racism causing all sort of made up ills even leading black people to crime in the USA. so it may help but to compare the USA homicide rate with a nearby country with no anti black racism. Few would claim that there is any anti Black racism in Jamaica. Jamaica has a 99% black population and is viewed as a black paradise. Jamaica's homicide rate for 2018 was 47 per 100 000 . The USA homicide rate for 2018 was 5 per 100 000 The number of people shot and killed by police in Jamaica in 2018 was 140 in a country with a population of 2.6 million or 0.54 per 100 000. The number of people of all races shot and killed by the USA police was 991 in a country with a population of 327 million or 0.003 per 100 000. Is this what the world is protesting about? Why has the black lives matter movement not gone to resolve the evil in Jamaica? Where is the free media on this? Are the cops really the problem? According to an Amnesty International report dated April 2001 they documented many cases of police brutality in Jamaica, some amounting to torture. Victims commonly include criminal suspects and their relatives, as well as children and women. Documented methods have included beatings, burns with hot irons, suffocation in water and mock executions. Where are the international protests? Does anti black racism in the USA really affect the crime rate? If yes then does the absence of anti black racism have an impact on crime in Jamaica? We have this past week seen the psychological effects of white on black crime on black people in the USA, however what are the Psychological effects (of the black on white crime) on the white people in the USA bearing in mind that robberies with white victims and black offenders were more than TWELVE times more common than vice versa and a white person is about TEN TIMES more likely to be killed by a black person than visa versa.
She is a queen. her voice and her message got people to see what they have been blinded to for so long. What this country has hid from many people for so long the pain and her voice was so real the anger and her voice was so real she deserves a platform of her own

I didn't know who she was before she blew up. I was like. Damn. She sure knows a whole lot about black history for a random protester -- droppin' names like Tulsa and Rosewood in her speech. I'm so glad she got an opportunity to complete the circle "meeting" the person who inspired her social contract theme.
@@butterflychellebelle9198, they should be, for sure, but they're actually not. Far too few of us had been taught about those massacres in any real depth, that if they were taught to us at all. Consider yourself lucky if your history classes were well rounded enough to teach you about these injustices.
Kimberly Jones is so captivating in the way she narrates and story tells, bring her back she's brilliant and pleasant to watch. Her perspective and respect toward youth is so needed, as we need to think about the generations that have yet to come for the good of all people on this planet and the survival of mother earth. These times feel very pivotal.

I cry every time I see her video and hear these words. It’s pierced my soul and I felt proud! She is sooo strong, intelligent and wise about the reality of our lives we need you Ms Jones to lead this revolution towards equality of our beautiful black/brown people!
Kimberly’s speech is so powerful and beautiful. You can actually feel that accumulative anger of not only the obviously visible tragedies but the “daily indignities.” I get chills when she points out how Black people are looking for “equality and not revenge.” Her words pull everything together...
She'd be dead by now. Your country doesn't want voices like hers. Not the REPs and not the DEMs. If it where like that, you'd have Bernie running for office now.
Politics would muzzle her. Her assignment as I see it is to educate/wake up the masses who are often seduced to vote for fools such as the current one.
This is the anger we have to live with and people have the nerve to asks us why are black people so mad all the time... And I'm like well here are my shoes just walk in them for a few secs....
What I was trying to indicate was that you will realize quite quickly why we hold so much anger and frustration , and yes I agree that all minorities are facing these exact situations but as a young black women I can only speak for my race, I guess you can say. but I would like to hear how different situations impact diffrent races ❤
@@davineshamonique4645 I am a non-Black POC and I feel very strongly that the focus not be diverted from, very specifically, ADOS. Every single non-Black POC comes from a history of slave ownership in one way or another, at some point or another, including Latinx and NA. I don't mean to discount other non-Black POC, my people don't have a voice and are dying every day, but this time, this moment, this is when momentum cannot falter. This is the time when the Black people on whose backs this country was built rise and everyone else provides support. We cannot detract from this. For those of you who feel somehow it's not fair, look at it this way. What happens here will have a domino effect, and already is. But here, in this country, right now, everyone needs to focus their energy to SUPPORT Black people in any way we are asked BY Black people to do so. Not take the reins, not overshadow, not try to tell folks how and what to do when. This is the time for us to support the wisdom, experience, struggle, strength, hope, and expertise of Black Americans in all their glory. Now.

Excellent interview. I have to credit John Oliver, as I originally saw her video at the end of his show. He only played the back half, but it left me in tears. The way she explained the system of injustice was perfect and should be used in every history class. Her words really make you think about how we got here and hat is happening now. She even touched on the looting and highlighted that it didn't have to be this way. I cannot than this woman enough, as she did more in 7 minutes than many history courses do over a semester. As a fellow black woman, I could not agree more with her points. While I barely use FB, her whole speech was definitely posted. Please Kimberly, don't ever stop. :-)
So much of the POWER of the full video comes from the first 2+ minutes, not shown here. By starting out calm, Jones gave a beautifully intimate view of how Black rage is the natural response to society's failure to do justice. People are quick to write off the visibly angry. But there's no dismissing this woman!
Kimberly’s got fire! That’s the strength and passion that we all need in this fight for justice and equality 🙌💯🔥

Change only seems to come about through revolution; the past is the best teacher of this.
A FreeOne those were conservatives... I’m so tired of explaining basic US history lessons to middle school drop outs *sigh*
@@notplayboicactus5700 They think they can fool us by repeating that ignorance! We know the truth!
@A FreeOne , I don't know how old you are, but everything you have stated above is conservatism, this sounds more like the Republican Party. Have you taken a look at Trump, and your base lately?
How do I give a hundred thumbs up? Kimberly Jones, you are a powerhouse. Thank you for sharing your voice.
Hi Mark. We at www.purposefulvisions.net is doing the work. Feel free to visit the site. Thank you
I don't know why 🤷🏻♀️ but Trevor talking about his mother just melts my heart... God bless you Kimberley Jones.
God bless you Trevor Noah.
God bless your mom, Trevor 💕
Yeah. How can anyone have a hard heart when he talks about his very existence being a crime?
He genuinely respects women and especially Black women, having been raised by one. It's refreshingly pure. Plus, it's nice to see that he's never forgotten his humble beginnings/where he comes from. So many of us work so hard, day in + out, to escape our origins for whatever reason. Trevor has never let his true essence go. It's the reason why he's so well-rounded, in my humble opinion. I'm such a fan! 🤩 LOL.
Doomsurfer @Doomsurfer go to bed, Russian troll
Trevor seems like such a kind, humble man. I listened to his audiobook, "Born A Crime", and it's one of the best books I've ever listened to. His mom is a wonderful woman. I'll be looking for Kimberley Jones's book too. God bless them indeed!
Thank you so much for having Ms. Jones on the show... she is an incredible human and an exemplary voice, right now and always.
So much intellect and insight. I hope you have this young woman back again Trevor. She is definitely worth listening to.
By catching bad guys you protect the community🙃
Yeah but the focus is lost, priorities matter
@@olovram exactly.
True warriors are servants. The bullies on patrol across America are not serving anyone.

THANK YOU SISTA FOR BEING THE PEOPLE VOICE 🥰🥰🥰
"You're lucky that what Black people are looking for is equality and NOT revenge!" I felt that in my soul! #powerful #deep #truth

@real american Racist keyboard warriors are lucky you can say that anonymously.
@Artist and Fitness Model is that your excuse for there being a bunch of PWT white people doing as you racists like to say "taking advantage of the system"? I don't even know why you came to this channel to mess with black people along with the other guy. Y'all will get bodied in the comment section lol. Take your racist thoughts over to a KKK brotherhood channel or some other bs channel that nobody with a soul and a decent education would care about

Looting and vandalizing shops???
What about that
Thank you Ms. Jones!!!!!!!!!!!
It made me cry; she really struck a chord with her honesty. As a woman, I have dealt with inequality all of my life. As a professional, the men were more interested in my build than my brains. And it's been easy for me compared to my black sisters. We are Sandra Bland.
such beauty, such passion , such strength and abundant love in one person.... love and respect Kimberly Jones.
God bless you.
As a white man who grew up in Los Angeles for the past 42 years, filled with racial awareness and inclusion, having felt like nothing but an advocate for equality...
Kimberly's live speech opened my eyes and mind more than anything I've ever experienced. Holy s#it! Truth is powerful
Much love and EMPATHY, everyone. Much love.
Two amazing people having such a great conversation. I could soak this up for hours. Trevor and Kimberly have really opened my eyes and deepened my understanding of racial injustice in the USA.
MS KIM OUR FUTURE IS BRILLIANT WITH A PERSON AS YOURSELF YOU DID THE DAM THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This must be a dream come true for her. I'm glad she can talk with the guy who inspired her powerful speech.
This was one of the best interviews ever. Thank you for lifting up Kimberly Jones’ voice and work. Huge fan!
Hi Mary. We at www.purposefulvisions.net is doing the work. Feel free to visit site.
the look on Trevor's face when she said she "so eloquently stole that quote from you"...priceless. beaming with pride :) my all time favorite interviewer, interviewing one of the most passionate speakers i've heard, ever. amazing.
It gives me chills every single time I've seen it. Holy CRAP.
She spoke the truth.

I love how easy it is to understand what she is trying to convey, very heartfelt speaking person.
I'm out of words. This woman's voice resonates so damn well, I feel it in my body. The world is cheering for you America!
Her points are so true. She is upholding the American ideals.
The USA homicide rate for 2018 was 5 per 100 000
The number of people shot and killed by police in Jamaica in 2018 was 140 in a country with a population of 2.6 million or 0.54 per 100 000.

She upholds a communist idea.
She is a queen. her voice and her message got people to see what they have been blinded to for so long. What this country has hid from many people for so long the pain and her voice was so real the anger and her voice was so real she deserves a platform of her own
@leo16sea now ...She brought me to tears😢 ...that was the most eloquent statement made of today's state. Thank you Kimberly Jones! 'Growth only comes fom discomfort' Wow!
Tulsa and Rosewood are common knowledge
No, they really aren't. I had to turn to Google when she brought them up and I'm a college educated black woman.
@@butterflychellebelle9198, they should be, for sure, but they're actually not. Far too few of us had been taught about those massacres in any real depth, that if they were taught to us at all. Consider yourself lucky if your history classes were well rounded enough to teach you about these injustices.
She share BASIC KNOWLEDGE. “Random protesters “ ? You sound an idiot.
Tia Williams isn’t that sad? I mean how it’s been so well hidden? Talk about propaganda.
Kimberly is an amazing black woman! Thanks for having her on your show, Trevor. Now I can follow her so I can learn, grow, and contribute. 👍🏽
I normally have a critique, I have nothing to add to this conversation. She did a great job communicating my thoughts.
Yes she did.
Intelligent black woman is all we need now... Love you sis
I just love her and her energy
Great conversation Trevor and Kimberly
Wow! This Sister is so authentic and has helped me understand why people are feeling angry. Tulsa and Rosewood sealed it for me. The game is fixed for sure!
I cry every time I see her video and hear these words. It’s pierced my soul and I felt proud! She is sooo strong, intelligent and wise about the reality of our lives we need you Ms Jones to lead this revolution towards equality of our beautiful black/brown people!
I wish she was our President I LOVE her!!!!!!
I nominate this lady for president.....Kimberly jones
She's very inspirational.
Yes 💘
If that was to happen Ivaka would kill herself
Yes yes yes. President Jones. Please!
Kimberly’s speech is so powerful and beautiful. You can actually feel that accumulative anger of not only the obviously visible tragedies but the “daily indignities.” I get chills when she points out how Black people are looking for “equality and not revenge.” Her words pull everything together...
Yeah, she told it straight to my heart.
Phew! Brought me to tears and touched my heart deeply. Words of Truth. Word of God.

Thank you for speaking this truth!! Powerful, so very powerful.
She’s brilliant and so spot on. We desperately need to listen. ❤️🤬
Kimberly Jones should go into politics. Our country needs more voices like hers.
She'd be dead by now. Your country doesn't want voices like hers.
Not the REPs and not the DEMs. If it where like that, you'd have Bernie running for office now.
@Shaun W. Reagan was too far left for you.
@Shaun W. Bernie isn't socialist. Bernie is central left. If you want to know about socialism, try some SciFi literature.
Politics would muzzle her. Her assignment as I see it is to educate/wake up the masses who are often seduced to vote for fools such as the current one.
Oh really? She is a hateful, bitter, unhappy person. She advocates for violence ad destruction. If you believe your statement, you are a fool.
“We have trained warrior cops not guardians of our community.” How right she is.

*"It's like this bully that lives in our communities that nobody else sees."*
Wow. nailed it.
She is a good speaker, also, very good delivery. Even if you only lip-read, you get it quite clearly. Almost mesmerizing speaker, I would say.
This is the anger we have to live with and people have the nerve to asks us why are black people so mad all the time... And I'm like well here are my shoes just walk in them for a few secs....
Davinesha Monique Even better walk in these shoes for some months.....not only some secs.....

Now.

That video sent chills through my body and so well said.....if no one understands after that they just don’t wanna understand.
What an incredible passionate voice! Thank you, Kimberly Jones!
He finally put her on
This woman has a beautiful mind!!
...And a beautiful smile!!
So much of the POWER of the full video comes from the first 2+ minutes, not shown here. By starting out calm, Jones gave a beautifully intimate view of how Black rage is the natural response to society's failure to do justice. People are quick to write off the visibly angry. But there's no dismissing this woman!
