A couple years ago when the Hot Cheeto Mountain Dew was released, I bought it for one of my friends as a joke, not thinking that he would actually drink it. But he did. And when I asked him what it tasted like he responded with “Disappointment with a hint of regret”
We loved the colored ketchup! My son would eat better with it. Also, my grandfather had an Edsel. He took excellent care of it. He passed away in 2012, and it still had all original parts and paint job. Now my dad takes care of it and it only gets used for special occasions, like weddings. It will never leave our family. 😊
4:14 My daughter had a MS KIN when she was in high school back in 2015. She loved it! I remember her reading her favorite fan fiction on the little screen. It was a cute phone.
I got cosmopolitan and Neapolitan mixed up and was about to say “Neapolitan yogurt sounds great! Just like the iced cream”. That was until you mentioned the magazine and then it clicked
The green Heinz ketchup didn't work in the UK, because we have green chilli sauce, pickled cucumber relish and mint sauce. They taste much better, on the right foods. No one wanted the purple one. The solution to low fat snacks turned out to be the industrial use of air fryers. I tried new Coke once...🤮, ended up drinking Cherry Coke and Barrs Cola, until the product was dumped.
Poor Blockbuster….I have fond memories of running to the store and getting a DVD on Friday or Saturday night. We called lawn darts, jarts. I cannot believe all us drunk people survived our cook outs.
I remember seeing and experiencing 3D tv at a Best Buy when I was younger, thought it was the awesome. Maybe one day it will make a comeback like you guys said
My cousin always struggled with weight during her childhood. While on our Daytona Florida trip in the 90s she had her dad buy her a bunch of WOW! Chips which she scarfed down enmass over one afternoon. It over loaded her 8 year old body and she got rushing, horrific death smelling, uncontrollable diarrhea in the car while we were on our way to dinner that night. It just kept coming and coming, i remember sitting in the waiting room of the hospital with her older sister with our shoes and socks stained with her poo. It got all over us as we were in the backseat together
3:20 CD-I was the brainchild of Todd Rundgren. He wanted people to be able to manipulate his music and change the mood, tempo and timing. He went to Phillips, which became Sony-Phillips. For his first interactive album, he changed his name to TR-I, which stood for Todd Rundgren-Interactive. I saw this release in a Seattle record store where he was extolling the virtues of this new system. You could play them on your average desktop. I'd brought a couple of his albums with me to get autographed and instead of signing his name, he signed it TR-I which really pissed me off because those records were collectors items from the 60's. The album was kinda meh and I had the money at the time, but I was for damned-sure not paying $500
The ironic thing is that Blockbuster actually had a chance to buy Netflix at a third of Netflix's value today, but they turned it down because they didn't its business model had a future.

15:43 I've actually heard that in some ways the Zune was actually better than the iPod. It's too bad it didn't succeed against the iPod. It did last for a while though and it's forever immortalized in the guardians of the Galaxy films
One thing that gave Bluray a huge leg up on HDDVD was that it was included as part of the PS3 (much like DVD and the PS2), which makes sense since Sony was one of the 9 electronic companies that started Bluray - Toshiba was the primary on HDDVD, trying to take on the likes of Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Hitachi, LG, Thomson, Philips, Pioneer and Panasonic with their Bluray tech.
The problem with Windows Vista is that it didn't work on PCs made before 2006 due to Aero glass and transparency. Also, PC manufactures made PCs that barely met Vista's requirements causing them too run very slowly
I remember the HUGE Build up to the release of Segway : It was going to revolutionize human life! making all other forms of transportation obsolete... evidently, they didn't count on precipitation...
I remember being a kid and my Dad and step mom had the low fat chips and they would call them them poop chips and told us to be careful if we wanted to eat them! Lol
I was working for AT&T Mobility already for over 3 years when the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 came-out. Literally one week after launch date, my very first call of that particular morning was from a harried young woman who told me that her boyfriend's Samsung Galaxy Note 7 literally exploded. At first, I thought she was just another nutcase calling us, but I registered her complaint and, literally beginning an hour or two later, at least several of my colleagues got similar calls. By the next day, the story made the national news add 3/4s of our calls dealt with this very issue.. By the end of that week, lawsuits started being filed. Most people don't know this, but Samsung was actually close to shutting-down operations forever in North America because of it. Thankfully, they persevered because I sure as hell will never buy an iPhone.
My girlfriend was messing around and pot the Cheetos Lip Balm in her belly button her belly button tasted great but it backfired because her belly button smelled of Cheetos for a month she was pissed and went of Cheetos 😂
9:34 To be fair though, you could tell that when they released the film that the DeLorean was not a great car. Remember how Marty McFly completely questioned that doc Brown made a time machine out of a DeLorean? I think he questioned that the way he did because of the DeLorean is a bad car and they knew it
I remember when the Wow chips were a thing, and we were vacationing in a condo building by the beach. They actually had signs in the condos warning not to feed those chips to the seagulls because ... well, bird poop. Lots of bird poop.
New Coke was made because in taste tests, people preferred the taste of diet coke to regular coke, so they made their regular coke taste more like diet. And in taste tests, most people preferred new coke to old coke. So they literally failed because they made a product that more people should have found enjoyable.
14:01 The ONLY problem with Clippy was that he was so difficult to get rid of. The idea was absolutely brilliant. The execution was absolutely horrendous. 14:05 Comic Sans is a beautiful typeface when taken as it is. The problem is it was the Nickelback of typography before Nickelback even became big. It was EVERYWHERE and EVERYONE was using it for everything they can think of. That proves it is a beautiful typeface. It just sucks when everyone overuses something so wonderful that it becomes a pain in the ass to even see.
I never understood why there has always been so much hate about Nickelback. Maybe you’re one of those people who thinks they sold out after they got a hit single?
@@COMPFUNK2 Actually I love Nickelback. Unfortunately, they're considered overplayed from their early days. I personally don't care either way. I still enjoy their work, I was just using them for the example.

The Wii U is now looked at as it crawled/walked, so the Switch could run. As with the GamePad you could see that Nintendo wanted to try to do something with both a Home console and a handheld. Which as we know lead to the Switch.
I'm probably in a major minority, but I thought the Edsel looked rather cool, especially the front grill. Fun Fact: Paul Revere, of Paul Revere and the Raiders, had a keyboard made out of the front end of an Edsel.
My family, aunts, uncles, cousins all switched to Cherry Coke while we waited out New Coke, and rejoiced when coke classic was announced. New Coke was intolerable.
Beta didn't take off because you needed multiple cassettes to watch a movie. People didn't like having to get up and switch tapes to continue their movies. But you are correct beta was way better than VHS. Its like comparing a vinyl record to a CD, yes that big of a difference. Most movies were 3-4 cassettes. If they had just made the tapes bigger so it was all on one instead of multiple everyone would have owned a beta instead of a VHS.
Sheesh, tired of people crapping on the Virtual Boy. Yeah it wasn't great, yeah it gave headaches, but when i was a kid, this was my very first 3D experience, and it was the coolest damn thing I had ever seen. Growing up and learning how it works, it's a miracle what they pulled off. Teleroboxer and Galactic Pinball, and Mario Tennis!
I had Windows Vista from the start of 7th grade to the end of eighth grade HATED IT. It was ALWAYS installing updates and it kept failing to properly install them. It finally crashed before I finished 8th grade
I still have my Wii U in storage, and I had a bunch of games (that I later sold to pay for my increasing rent until I moved to a low-income apartment). Currently thinking of just pulling it out and beating Twilight Princess HD.
Worse than Arch Deluxe was the concept of an entire hamburger restaurant serving a similar hamburger. It was called "Raymond's", named for Ray Kroc. A prototype was built in Beverly Hills in the 1970s. They served a version of a "deluxe" hamburger. My Dad worked for Kroc and I went to the restaurant once. Kroc also experimented with a pie restaurant called "Jane Dobbyn's" in Pasadena, named after his wife at the time. McDonald's also experimented with selling hot dogs and frozen ice cream cones. Their most famous experiments were the Filet O' Fish and the Big Mac. Both of these were invented by franchisee restaurant owners and not corporate researchers. The Filet O' Fish was created in 1962 by Lou Groen, a McDonald's franchise owner in a predominantly Catholic neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio, in response to declining hamburger sales on Fridays due to the practice of abstaining from meat on that day. The Big Mac was created by Jim Delligatti in Pittsburgh who stated later he did not invent the Big Mac but merely copied the double deck hamburger marketed by the Big Boy hamburger chain since the 1940s.
I remember the McDonald's version of a hot ham and cheese sandwich... I 100% believe it failed because of the hideously stupid sounding name... The "Yumbo". My Mom was going to try it once,& couldn't bring herself to say the awful name, lol!😮
19:52 Oh I wish you showed a clip from that college humor series "If Google was a guy" Because the part when he answers a question from somebody wearing Google Glass who literally asks "Why do people laugh at him for wearing Google Glass" and The guy who is Google doesn't even answer the question just laughs so hard just look at him. Even Google found Google Glass to be so dumb😂
8:10 I got a WiiU and my boys and I love it. We still have it and play it sometimes. With the teeny tiny paddles the Switch comes with it, I actually like it more than the Switch (which I also have).
1:36 So back then Netflix wasn't even doing streaming They were just doing DVD deliveries and were the biggest at it. Blockbuster joining in on that fight actually seem like a really good thing and I like the ads because they brought how you can order DVDs and have them delivered but yeah you could always just go back to the store and get another one instead of just having to always wait for the next one to be delivered. That was like the best of both worlds but it was too little too late. Like you said they were playing catch up with Netflix. Oh well. Even though we definitely had Blockbuster video in our area my family always chose Hollywood video its competitor anyways. Now there's just the one blockbuster video left in bend Oregon and I have seen a video store up in eureka called spotlight video which has literally the same signage and same logo as Hollywood video except the logo is painted blue instead of black.
I found hot dog water flavored chapstick. I gave it to my son in his stocking for Christmas. His reaction was, "Thanks, I hate it" 😂😂😂. I feel like that flavor might be a bit worse.
The Arch Deluxe was better than any burger McDonalds currently makes. Yep. I said it. Also, Betamax failed due to the format being more expensive to manufacture. Which led to the porn industry choosing VHS over Beta. That was the nail in the coffin. Porn beat Betamax, in the end.
I had the purple ketchup, as an adult. It tasted normally but had a weird texture. ~ My parents owned a bunch of Kung Fu movies on Betamax. They had the player as well. It was better quality than a VHS. ~ We still have a WiiU. It’s okay but that screen controller is heavy and clunky. ~ Didn’t own a Newton but that’s pretty amazing that they were able to transfer things to each other wirelessly, especially back in 1993.
Never had a problem with Vista on my quad Q6600 and 8gb of RAM, i think crappy low budget hardware and severe lack of RAM was more of the problem than the OS.
14:18 the early XBOX 360s had HD DVD players when the war was still going on. As for the 3D TV. The Hellsing Ultimate Abridged clip of Alucard saying that 3D TV was a scam
I remember the new coke. It tasted like Pepsi. I was bummed. So my husband and I would go to Mexico and buy the coke there which was super cheap. Now Mexican coke sold here is expensive but I like it better. I was glad at least they changed the new coke back to the way it was though it still wasn't exactly the same.
"When Wow Chips were released by Lay's in 1998, no one could have imagined the fallout." I'll take "Sentences With An Unfortunate Second Meaning" for $200.
4:39 Oh that's what happened to Microsoft smartphones. I actually didn't realize they were called Microsoft kin. To be fair even though I have a phone with Android on it I don't use the Facebook or Twitter app either. I don't like how they take up space on my phone and can cause slow down on my phone and I just don't see the point when I actually can use the Chrome browser that comes with my phone to just go on these social media sites. The only social media sites I use the apps for are TH-cam and TikTok.
10:13 isn't Apple maps still around? I mean I was under the impression it was a massive failure but I remember seeing a car with cameras all over it and it had stopped somewhere so I took a closer look at it and I planned to upload my TH-cam short about it at some point, even though I saw this month ago so thanks for reminding me with this number on your list but anyways I thought it was a Google car but then was very disappointed to see that it was an Apple maps car and even pointed out how even people who have iPhone use Google maps. I'm an Android user who uses Waze
I had a Kin and it was suicidal I don't know if it's because of the shape it was but it would constant jump (not fall) out of my hand. Also water was the touch screens kryptonite even a tiny raindrop and you needed the touch screen for it to work even though it had a full keyboard.
Galqxy just jumped to the Note 8, and it was AMAZING. I LOVED mine. I had it forever. I only reason had to upgrade was because something fell on it and broke my screen 😞
You know your product is a failure when it resembles a Roman military weapon (the plumbata). And I don't think the Romans were planning to use these lawn-dart lookalikes for just playing a horseshoe-game variation when they were pretty much successfully campaigning to dominate pretty much the entire area around the Mediterranean Sea! These things had barbs as well. That's why they also called them "martiobarbuli", or "little barbs of Mars" (referring to the god, not the planet).
8:00 wii u basically split the online eshop in half so any classic games you already paid for online was discounted to transfer from ur wii to Wii u account or put back to full price then done again when Nintendo switch came out i love my Snes & 64 games but not enough to buy them 4 times
When that bigger Zune came out and you could save videos on it, that Zune was better than anything Apple had for several months, but then iPhone came out and ended all need for a separate MP3 player.

Now there's just the one blockbuster video left in bend Oregon and I have seen a video store up in eureka called spotlight video which has literally the same signage and same logo as Hollywood video except the logo is painted blue instead of black.
Hey! Don't diss clippy. Some of us have kinda sorta tepidly okay mildly pleasant memories of him!
Cheetos chapstick seems like the most hated chapstick ever
I found hot dog water flavored chapstick. I gave it to my son in his stocking for Christmas. His reaction was, "Thanks, I hate it" 😂😂😂. I feel like that flavor might be a bit worse.
06:12 - his "aaah" was the hint that he wasn't convinced either.
The McDLT was good too.
It didn't help that Beta tapes weren't long enough to record a whole football ( US ) game, where VHS could . . .
I used Microsoft bob as a house and spent hours decorating my roms.
Shame you didn’t mention the C5. Tricycle type of Road vehicle invented by the ZX Spectrum Godfather Sir Clive Sinclair. Failed so bad
18:22 seven and seven! 🤩
Never had a problem with Vista on my quad Q6600 and 8gb of RAM, i think crappy low budget hardware and severe lack of RAM was more of the problem than the OS.
Came here figuring I knew what #1 would be, was not disappointed.
I always wondered why video stores didn't start their own streaming service to fight Netflix.
Flamin’ Hot Cheetos lip balm might sell though.
Mexican Coke tastes better because they make it with only cane sugar; no genetically-modified hi-fructose corn syrup. 😊
Where’s the cybertruck?
"When Wow Chips were released by Lay's in 1998, no one could have imagined the fallout."
I'll take "Sentences With An Unfortunate Second Meaning" for $200.
We still have an original set of lawn darts. I love breaking them out at parties.
Clippy was awesome. I loved him.
I loved the colored ketchup, I had the green one.
The Arch Deluxe was AMAZING
Nerd/Geek hype for the @LGR clip
I loved the Arch Delux
5:23 Billy Zane's hair system was a failed product.
Agreed
My family bought VHS because the tapes were larger and therefore stored more.
New coke tasted like Pepsi to such a point that the CEO of Pepsi gave one day off to every employee
I had the Note 7. It's a shame. That one defect ruined what was otherwise an excellent phone.
To my knowledge lawn darts are like blumbata which were used thousands of years ago.
" 'Great' ideas, with the best of intentions! What could possibly go wrong?"
Cheetos lip balm taste weird
It's better with guacamole.
Who remembers KOOGLE peanut spread? Chocolate, Vanilla, Cinnamon, and B-A-N-A-N-A!
Urp!! 🫢🤢🤮
