- It was recently revealed that Michael Keaton is in talks to return as his duel role of Bruce Wayne and Batman. This would act as a continuation of Tim Burton's Batman 1989, Batman Returns maybe a Batman Beyond live action adaption and also acting as a veteran crime fighter/mentor in the Flash's Flashpoint movie. With the exit of Ben Affleck and this potentially acting as a soft reboot of the series is the best move for the DC Universe to bring back Keaton or go in a different direction? Maybe yes! But also who knows. BUT MAYBE. Thanks for watching.

I'm not sure she actually died in that scene. When she fell, she went through several awnings that slowed her descent. And all the other scenes later on when she said she died didn't look that fatal. Yeah she gets shot a bunch of times at the end by Christopher Walken, but a person high on adrenaline can tank a bunch of gunshots.
@@fattiger6957 Agreed. I think when she says she died, she means that Selena Kyle 'died'. It's clear that she's suffered a massive head trauma which has affected her mind. The remainder of the movie plays on the myth of cats having nine lives, by which I think we all agree doesn't mean cats come back to life after each incident.

It is a solid idea (and more than a little exciting) to introduce the mul-DC-verse. It means they can absolutely have their bat-cake and bat-eat it with as many iterations and worlds for as long as they are financially viable.

I think a digital face mapping render of Christopher Reeve would be a far better decision. It's been done in film for over a decade now, and it's gotten better and better as time has passed. Give it a couple more years and I think deep faking in movies will be perfected, and we could see the return of everyone's favorite Superman.

@@brendansheehy8124 Keaton seems to be in decent shape for a guy pushing 70. But the great thing about Batman is that its easily to put a stunt double in the suit for physical scenes.
Being perfectly honest, I'm not the biggest fan of either Batman '89 or Batman Returns, so Keaton's Batman isn't that special to me. However, Keaton is an amazing actor, and just the idea of this happening sends shivers down my spine.

Don't think Affleck is a good Batman, but he's an excellent Bruce Wayne. Actually, almost exactly the opposite problem with Keaton; his Batman is great, but his Bruce Wayne just doesn't quite work.
Doesn't matter in the end, because even though I don't like Batman '89, I'd rather watch it a hundred times than suffer through either Justice League or BvS. (And I actually like Batman Returns quite a bit, so long as I completely ignore that it's got nothing to do with Batman)
That’s funny Óscar. I love those two movies. I disliked what Joel did with the franchise. They were fun and entertaining. But too campy. Hearing Keaton retuning sends shivers down my spine too. But in a good way.

I wasn't born when the movie came out. And I saw it for the first time at an age where the utterly amazing visuals couldn't mask the structural problems (Batman can't figure out the Joker's blindly obvious location, and even when he finds out, he does nothing until the very end of the movie, wayyyyy to much screen time is spent on the villain relative to the protagonist, and the switch between seriousness and silliness in the film's tone isn't very graceful, and makes it harder to get invested).
For what it's worth, I've always preferred the '66 movie, as I think the silly version of Batman holds up the best over time (for a recent example, see Lego Batman)

Have FLASH bouncing around different EARTHs instead of time travel and creating alternate timelines Universes.
Flash simply ends up on Keaton/Batman EARTH-89.
That way the Affleck Batman still exists and then it also gives room for Pattinson Batman to also exist all on separate earths

They could still call it Flashpoint, and tell a story about Flash getting trapped in a dystopia where the Justice League is fighting each other, but explicitly make it more of a multiverse thing than a "time travel" thing. The Flash doesn't just have the ability to move vertically through the fourth dimension of time, he can also move laterally through the multiverse, through different dimensions of alternate time lines.

I like that idea. I don't really like Flashpoint (probably mostly because it led to the terrible New52) so I've no problem with not using it. Plus, if they establish the multiverse then maybe my beloved JSA will one day have a movie

While I like Batman and Robin, I have to agree with Tweeks that Clooney was wrong for the role. While Kilmer was also wrong for the role, I would rather see Kilmer over Clooney and Keaton over both of them.

Honestly, Clooney would've been a legit good Batman with a good script and serious setting. Like the guy is a genuinely a great actor. No doubt about it.
OR if this film came out in a different era. Cause by the time this film came out, Batman as a character had already moved on from the "camp & silly" nature of the past. Thanks to Burton, Batman to the general public became this mature & serious character. He shed that image of the past.
Like Adam West was a darn good Batman for his era but there's no freaking way that version would work today. Because that's not what Batman is anymore.
I don't recall Cloony writing or directing the film, so he's hardly to blame. In fact, his scenes with Michael Gough are very good and quite touching.
Syklone I didn't mean that Clooney himself single handedly destroyed Batman. I meant that version of Batman did. There are a lot of that led to the "death of the franchise". From the setting to the writing, tone, directing & acting.

This is just a small thing but I want Ben to know how much I appreciate his work. 18 seconds into the video there's a shot of Keaton from what I assume is Homecoming. Then someone from that shot walks across frame creating a side wipe that goes across Keaton into a shot from Batman and it lines up almost perfectly. I don't know how long it took to find that but it impressed quite a bit. Very nicely edited.
Ben is an amazing editing but Rob Collings actually did this one. All self taught and he is crushing it.

Seen the vid but i would really like to see the few minutes before and the minute after. By how little it shows makes me think that they purposefully edited the video to make more controversy and or views or something idk. I just feel like something in those minutes would reveal alot of what actually happened. I mean he does let her down pretty softly while if it was real i feel it woulda been more of a throw.

As a kid growing up with the Burton movies and the animated series, the two are almost synonymous with each other. It would make sense to me, and a dream come true, if they did a Batman Beyond movie as a sequel to Batman Returns with a few returning cast members.

"We know" is inaccurate. Not everyone has seen the show or the cartoon and certainly not the comic. The point is that all of these ips are old but new artists put new take on the stories we love and a new audiences get to enjoy.

I'm here for it. While there have been terrific portrayals over the years (looking at you, Kevin), Michael Keaton was MY Batman growing up, to the point where I was a little stung he didn't cameo in Crisis despite having no plans to watch it.

Y'know how I'd approach a Batman Beyond film? Set it in the Burton/Schumacherverse 50 years after B&R. The Batcave would be filled with dozens of easter eggs, such as: Catwoman's clawed gloves, Penguin's giant rubber ducky, a bottle of Smilex, Fries cryo gun, Nigma's TV box, Bane's mask, Two Face's suit, Ivy's gorilla costume, etc. I know most people don't care for the Schumacher helmed installments, but, I & many others still have an nostalgic attachment to them, plus, think given his recent passing it'd be kinda disrespectful not to, at least, include a few visual nods to his movies.
I like the fact that he is one of the oldest superhero actors. Unfortunately, Christopher Reeve passed away, but I will definitely settle for Keaton. There's some type of poeticness to it.

I think it would be cool if they did some kind of a wink and a nod to Christopher Reeve's Superman and establish that he and Keaton met up somewhere along the line. Doesn't have to be anything major. Could just be as simple as a newspaper in the batcave that has Reeve's Superman on it. I think that's one of those "What if?" kind of things where fans always thought it would have been cool they met up and it could just be a cool little Easter egg. Speaking of Easter eggs, Keaton's batcave better be full of em. So much stuff you could put in there that could tell a story and provide some history for what's happened in the past 30 years.
I would very much like to see him as like Kingdom Come Batman. Where he has the back brace and does most of the work with Bat Sentries that he has made with his old Batmobile, Batwing,etc... would also love to see how they would mess up Magog like they did Doomsday

Now that I think about it, Flashpoint can fuck up the timeline so Jack Napier doesn't kill Michael Keaton Batman's parents, instead Joe Chill did, then we get to see Batman's parents die again.
they should really capitalize on this and throw together a movie that is just DC comics we've already seen adapted. Maybe they can write a new origin for the Joker while they're at it.

I think this is nearly PERFECT. I'm a little bummed out that the shcumacher movies aren't gonna be cannon anymore and the character arc bruce had between these 3-4 films is probably going away, but otherwise i'm over the moon excited!

I always wanted to see Keaton do an older aged and somewhat jaded Batman where he's so used to the weirdness of Gotham that over the top villians are almost as commonplace as they are in the animated series. Maybe mix elements of Batman Beyond with the Dark Knight Returns but keep the '89-'92 elements in there as well. Almost like Batman and Robin, but with less camp and comedy and more dark thematic elements, character arcs, and a decent story to wrap it all up in. Hell, maybe even bring Catwoman back.
