In the Nolan-verse, Joker being created essentially by Scarecrow makes all kinds of sense if his background was indeed in the Military. He seeked treatment for PTSD through Scarecrow but Scarecrow saw something in him and experimented his fear toxin on him but instead of facing with his biggest fear it changed his brain and he became insane, or "supersane"

A missed opportunity for John Blake would have been to make him the kid in Batman Begins who gets fear-gassed during the assault on Gotham (actor who went on to be King Joffrey) after being given a Wayne Tech periscope from Batman. By the time The Dark Knight Rises takes place, that kid would have been in his mid-20s and let's face it - if a murder of parents can create the Batman, getting fear-gassed by the Scarecrow and owning a piece of Batman's high tech equipment has to do something to an adolescent. Total missed opportunity as screenwriting goes

I was like ...Why did they make John Blake some random orphan? In fact, they could have made him that kid from Batman Begins and had him say his parents were killed during the fear gas attack in Batman Begins and that Batman giving him a piece of Wayne Tech, helped him put the pieces of Batman's identity together over the years

In regards to the “Robin is a fail safe” I think I’d only apply it to Dick Grayson and not the others. There’s tons of material across comics that Grayson specifically is the lightning rod that grounds Batman.
Robin is a "release valve" for when Batman needs to work off some.... steam.

I just think he saw in Grayson a person that needed the help that Bruce Wayne never got. A way to more stably channel his dark feelings into something constructive. So that Dick would never become Batman. Perhaps one day be A Batman but never the brooding loner balanced on the edge like Bruce became. Given Dick's much more successful relationships both intimate and as a team leader, I think that it has worked.
Wellllll, except for the Dark Knight Strikes Again where he's a jealous prick who got fired, got his head cut off, and thrown into a volcano.
What about Drake? Bruce has said personally that the best detective of them all, and eventually better than HIM even, was Tim. Don't get me wrong, I'm more of a Red Hood fan, but Red Robin is definitely the one to take over after Bruce, hands down.
Dick keeps Blüdhaven, Jason is the guy to reform criminals as a criminal, Stephanie is... Idk? And Damian sticks to being Robin with the Titans or goes back to the League of Assassins, or fights for his father's mantle.
Did I forget anyone? I'm not counting Signal, Barbara, Huntress, Cass or other members of the family, because we're talking about who replaces Bruce as a failsafe, not a fill-in, like Azrael.

The motion picture in question is in fact not a fragment of nor in relation to the current DCEU filament of films. The director, Matt Reeves has stated on multiple occasions that “The Batman” is a standalone escapade and thus experiences no hinderance relating to other features constructed by the same corporation.
They've made some terrible movies but I quite liked Shazam, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad. They aren't amazing films, but I felt thoroughly entertained during their runtimes

No theory about the Joker compares to the actual IRL way he was created.
Congress in the 30s and 40s was looking to crack down on the free speech of comic makers with hearings and looking at censorship laws. To prevent this, comic makers at the time created their own regulatory body called the Comics Code Authority, which would approve only certain "moral" comics. Before this however, certain comic characters, Batman was one, adopted new personal moral standards in response to potential and actual creeping government censorship. Before the Congressional outrage, Batman used to kill. After, he developed his "no killing" code to become a moral pillar, where he would just punch out crooks and leave them for the cops.
His new moral code became Batman's only weakness; the Joker was created explicitly to force Batman into moral dilemmas, and thus the best fictional dichotomy was born.
Joker was created before the comics code.

Batman has called Killer Croc by his name Waylon before on several occasions. Maybe not as much as others but he has. I know he (at least at one point) felt sorry for him for what he’d been through in his life being abandoned, being deformed, and having to grow up as a carny freak and living in the sewers. Now that I think about it that sounds like the Penguin in Batman Returns lol.

I think the Batman is a Bully one about him calling his rivals by their real names has a good amount of truth to it. The only other comic characters I can think of who do this are Venom calling Spider-Man "Parker" all the time and Vegeta calling Goku "Kakarot" both of whom are doing it out of spite. The only exception I can think of is Spider-Man calling certain "villains" like the Rhino by their first name, but those characters are usually people who are genuinely good at their core and just caught up in terrible circumstances.

The dramatic transformation of James from the enthusiastic, young entrepreneur, Mr Sunday Movies, to the bitter and jaded supervillain, "Mr Sunday", is what keeps me coming back for more. DC & Marvel could only hope to develop a villain with this many layers.

Established Titles is a scam, by the way. The "Lordship" they provide is recognised by no one. It's still more valuable than an NFT, however, for the cost of the certificate paper and ink alone. Plus, the tree planting thing is good, assuming its legit.

You know, every time I hear "Batman has the will and bravery to never stop" I scream at my TV or computer "THAT IS EVERY FUCKING SUPER HERO! Sherlock Holmes! Goku! The Care Bears! Bugs Bunny! The Koolaid man! Fucking all of them!". And the exceptions for them are as equal to the exceptions of Batman. EVERY VERSION of Batman.

It is like "Wolverine is invincible because his claws can cut anything" or "Superman is too powerful" or "Super saiyan level 18 god ssj". It is just fan wank that has no thought in it but repetition of a poorly thought out idea
I agree with the cult forming, but the "every super hero has it to never stop", though.. I'm not sure there's that many heroes who have such an extent of an indomitable will as Bruce is depicted to have it. For example, Superman has given up sometimes, and in some different universes/alternative realities he's evil straight out out of desperation and giving up. Flash has had moral tribulations regarding the weight of its path with personal sacrifices, like Flashpoint. You said Goku, but even him, universe where he didn't beat his head, kinda became a normal Freeza grunt. Bruce, even in one shot continuities, is always the unrelenting dude. Soviet timeline? Batman is against Superman. Future timeline? Old Bruce still at it. Evil Justice League? Owlman is the nihilistic villain who wants to kill everything bc the lack of reason. Even Bruce-Joker he goes out of his way (universe?) to destroy every life not only in his, but other dimensions. Batman is always on the 100 mark, being unmovable to the extreme. Faultering is somewhat alien to batman depiction. Just my view, though

The whole JLA, Avengers, X-men, Fantastic 4, Titans, and Suicide squad will climb the same mountain all the same, but Batman a a handful of others won't pause to reflect how much it sucks to be climbing that mountain.
I guess that is less his indomitable will and more goal focused punctuality.

If commissioner Gordon and Harvey Bullock give up, it is only to contrast any one of those other headliners going the rest of the journey

I think the Joker was one of the soldiers of The League of Shadows in Batman Begins attempting to finish the mission of Ras Al Ghul. That’s why he’s able to get into spots without being seen, move copious amounts bombs through the city, and took Ras’s lesson about theatrically a bit literally.
The tv show "the batman" is one of my favorite versions in media because it gives alot of time to develop bruce not just batman. He has multiple charity events for orphans & he uses his position as a billionaire & head of a company to actually try & reform some of the villains such as clay face & the ventriloquist by giving them actual stable jobs, whereas in society it's extremely difficult cause every job application has that felony box you have to check. & you have no choice but to return to crime
I like the young justice explanation as to why Batman took Grayson under his wing which was so robin could get justice for his parents’ murder and wouldn’t turn out like him

One i love is in the comics, a story put forward that alfred orchestrates all the baddies with old theatre buddies, himself portraying the joker. Bruce isn't all he's hyped up to be, so they let him win. All this to give a depressed bruce a purpose in life

Batman using villains real names is a psychology thing. You aren’t supposed to humor people’s delusions. most of the time that means ignoring “the voices” people hear, or hallucinations, or ignoring lies people are telling about their pasts, but not using their stupid silly name works too.
Jack is a nickname for John and Jack is also the name of the Joker in Batman '89, Mask of the Phantasm, and Batman: The TellTale Game... so maybe John Blake is "John Blake, Jr" and the original John "Jack" Blake is the Joker? 🤯

11:47 I read this recently and don't know if it's true, but, apparently, the reason why we haven't seen Henry Cavill's face on Supes is because Netflix owns his likeness for The Witcher series. It was apparently something he, his agent, and lawyers missed and, I think, still has like 2 years to go. The dude doesn't really seem to care though given that he's doing pretty well and just wants to be left alone to play Warhammer (which is something I completely understand. His obsession over a geekdom he loves, I mean.) but this seems to be the reason why he has always stated that he's still Superman, and why WB hasn't come out and said they fired him given that he's not actually fired, just waiting.
Again, just something I read like last week, I think, I have no idea if it's true in any way, shape, or form.

@@Phontoz I just did a quick check and the timeline seems to add up. I mean, Shazam and the 1st season of The Witcher were released in 2019, so contract signings, shootings, and whatnot definitely happened before then.
