Hi Travis. I’ve been wondering why you run both of the front airlines down the passenger side frame rail as opposed to running the drivers side airline down the drivers side frame rail. Thanks.
I don’t like to drill a bunch of holes in the frame. If I did both sides then I would need to drill a hole in the other side of the crossmember. It saves me time running them across the crossmember and through one hole. Also keeps my lines together to run down one side of the frame to my airlift 3p so it keeps things neat. Just personal preference. You could do it either way.
Great show Travis, I recently installed the chopping block control arms and when I went to install the tie rods they were long so I had to modify a bit not sure there is enough to adjust for alignment
Thanks for the heads up on tie rods. I will be adjusting those soon as they are too long right now as expected. I’m learning as I go as well and sharing what I find out.
I have the same problem. The tie rods are adjusted all the way in and I have major toe out issues. Should I just cut down the tie rod to get more adjustment?
They are about three inches away at full lock. I ordered some 90s to plug into the bulkheads and some rubber hose to put around the line. I’m going to try a few things to secure it and make it even better.
The bolts are for a square body. They are thicker. Here’s the link. www.performanceonline.com/1973-87-chevy-gmc-truck-u-bolt-for-lower-control-arm-cross-shaft/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAy9msBhD0ARIsANbk0A_dwm32j3uVXjfesSA07Rrjb3Ffvko8d9nrJMOQR1wqcen6E7f6ujUaAmKfEALw_wcB
I’ve been leaning towards bagging my 66 so I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and I have gotta say they are great. I do have a question though. If you were to do the truck in stages like the front and then later the back. Is there a way you can run the truck temporarily before you get around to getting the tanks and everything else mounted?
Do the front first then you can have air lines to manual put air into to move the truck around. Then do the back and you can do the same thing. I would encourage you to just keep saving up and get everything at once. There’s nothing more frustrating than being stuck on a build because you don’t have what you need.
Thanks for the video. I do have one concern with the top shock mount. It looks like it’s on quit a bind. Maybe when it’s lowered it better. ??Those bushings might not last long or even bend the shock shaft. Are you sure that is mounted correctly? Just asking.
Thanks for your feedback! I installed per instructions. I understand the concern of the bushings. I don’t see it being an issue with weight on the truck but if it does become an issue, I’ll make sure to share with everyone. I appreciate it.
Thank you so much! Love the content I went back and rewatched, thank you for all the info. Also are you thinking about selling the upgraded hardware that you used for the lower control arms?
I have a question about the chopping block control arms 1” narrowed 1” forward on my truck I installed the lower and I noticed they have 2guide holes on shaft but you only use 1 and I noticed that the second unused hole was a little visible did you notice that I was told it is normal but I wanted to know if you had that on yours and it’s like a 1/2 to 3/4 off I called SS and they confirmed that it’s normal
Yea. I agree that the relocation bracket design didn’t align the shock correctly. That’s why I try this stuff out to see what works best. Thanks for your feedback. I plan to fabricate the top bracket some.
@@robbuchanan4870 I believe if the top shock mount was mounted closer to the control arm It would fix the angle. I’ve looked at other designs similar and they work better.
Yeah I thought about that I would need to order some of those cups I really liked the look of the CB arms I will be out for atleast a month I will be looking for your outcome 😊😂
SS I talked with Noah/Vance both and also CB so they know my problem I just need to see if the factory spec one will work or just move on from that whole situation no one really has that answer
Happy new year Travis
Thanks! You too!

So did you have to adjust your tie rods in ?

Love your vids. Hope to tackle my patina 58 apache this yr. Too many projects goin on. No rotor paint! Happy new yr!
Good luck with your build !
Great video! What are the shocks part number?

Thank you for watching!
Nice clean setup, liking those arms! How close do the bigger wheels come to those air lines on a full turn?

Nice, When I start my 66 ill be sure to order where it supports the channel@@SIMPLE.C10
Another great video! Do the lower control arm have provisions for sway bar mounts? Are sway bars overkill for a bagged truck?
Happy New Year’s BTW
Thank you! Some control arms do but these do not. I’ve never ran a sway bar but I have seen some that do.
Have you thought about using spark plugs wire separator clamps for the air lines to hold them together?
That’s a good idea. The lines barely have any movement in them so they stay pretty easy. Thanks for the suggestion!
Anytime! And might I say this video is actually the first video I ever seen that you have done a friend of mine, pointed it out

2600 in the front and 2500 in the back
Hey Travis where can I find the 90 degree air fitting to go through my frame like you did on this build?

Now you tell me! Haha.

Will the shock relocation bracket work for stock lower control arms?
Yes it will but if you’re running stock, I recommend just a 3 inch drop shock. I have them on my air ride guide at www.simplec10.co
Thank you so much! Love the content I went back and rewatched, thank you for all the info. Also are you thinking about selling the upgraded hardware that you used for the lower control arms?
Do you have the up graded u-bolts on your website?
No I don’t. You can order them from cpp or summit. They are square body u bolts.

Yes I had the same thing. I was surprised that the holes didn’t line up with the pins but I also was told it’s normal. Great question. Thank you.
No thank you I feel better about them
You are a lot of help appreciate you
Okay those 90 degree fittings what brand are they I want some
Where can I get the shock blocks?
switchsuspension.com/chevrolet-c-10-1963-1987-react-front-shock-relocation-brackets/
Do you have those shocks for sale on site with relocators
They are available with the control arms but not separate yet. I need to get those added on.
I have those control arms looking for some shocks
Those lower shock eyelets are not going to last long with those incorrect angles. And they will be worse with the suspension compressed / aired out.
Yea. I agree that the relocation bracket design didn’t align the shock correctly. That’s why I try this stuff out to see what works best. Thanks for your feedback. I plan to fabricate the top bracket some.
@@SIMPLE.C10 you should fab a new lower bracket instead that rotates the lower shock mount 90 degrees. Could be done with a piece of C channel.

Morning, Any new results with the chopping block control arms swap
No updates yet. They can take 4-6 weeks to get the new arms then I’ll know. If that doesn’t work I’ll cup my lowers.
