    As someone who has traveled the full length and lives close to the Pinellas Trail, there's a lot of great places worth checking out. In Downtown Dunedin on the trail is a place called Lane's Lemonade. They have some of the best orange ice cream around. Also, if you are in Tarpon Springs again, head to the Tarpon Tavern. Great eatery with plenty to choose from. One other thing about the Pinellas Trail is it goes literally all the way north of Lake Tarpon and connects to the Coast to Coast trail heading to Starkey Wilderness Park in Pasco County. Another connection to the trail is at Druid Road. The Druid Road Trail connects between Clearwater to the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa. All of these are just a sample of the many trails in Florida. 🙂👍

      Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to share your recommendations. We will have to check out Lane's and the Tarpon Tavern when we are back in the area. Someday we would love to ride further on the Pinellas Trail and the connecting trails as well!

      @@faithgnes3105 Cocoa Beach can be achieved by using the Coast to Coast trail which ends in Titusville, FL. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any southern connections from the Pinellas Trail to Anna Maria as the southernmost point of the Pinellas trail is the Northern Skyway Fishing Pier.

    I'm from St Pete and would ride the Pinellas Trail everyday from DWTN out to at least Clearwater, sometimes to where the trail ended just past Tarpon Springs. I moved in 2001 to Ohio to be closer to my family and never returned. I miss the weather and the lovely sunshine every day. If you get a chance for a day trip, check out the Withlacoochee Trail beginning at the southern trailhead town of Trilby. It is slightly longer than the Pinellas Trail, but takes you through the backwoods of Florida. Beware of Black Bears, Snakes & Gators....enjoy!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for the tip! We've received a couple other recommendations to check out the Withlacoochee Trail as well and just recently started doing some research on it. I think we are definitely going to do it within the next few weeks. We're really excited and will definitely keep an eye out for bears, snakes, and gators. Hopefully will see at least one of each... would make for a great video!

    Hi everyone, thanks so much for coming along with us on our E-Bike Adventure. After watching, what do you think? Would you consider riding the Pinellas Trail from St. Pete to Tarpon Springs? Or would you prefer a 1/2 day pre planned adventure (like the ones offered by E-Bike Adventures of St Pete)?
    If you know of other trails you would recommend in the area please leave those in the comments, along with any experiences purchasing E-Bikes!
    Thanks again to Drew with E-Bike Adventures of St Pete for loaning us the bikes to make this episode possible. If you are interested in renting or purchasing E-Bikes, make sure to check out his site at ebikeadventuresofstpete.com

    Can’t walk my dog or kids on trail anymore….super appreciate treating it like a highway with no traffic laws! Sure you mostly showed yourself coasting along at regular bike speed but mostly not the case! Only found this video trying to search laws for trail after almost getting hit by a guy doing 35-40mph with no lights. Almost as safe to play in the street. Let’s not forget a lot of them have no license and is reason riding e-bikes

      What is the difference between regular bikes and e bikes? I mean besides the obvious? Like how much exercise do you get with the e bike compared to a regular bike?

    • @aurora571000
      @aurora571000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@faithgnes3105
      If I was choosing between regular or e-bikes again, I would choose a regular used bike and only get an e-bike when I had built up my strength and found I had a specific need for the electric. I am a senior who got an e-bike for exercise and have mostly used it without the e-. It is heavy and difficult to compare to regular.

    .
    In October, I purchased my first e-bike - a jade colored Electra Townie GO! 5i step through and I’ve tricked it out with a matching handlebar basket and Ortlieb panniers from REI (they had the ones that matched the color of my bike). I modified the rear rack bracket of a black stow bag so it also fits with the panniers in place. Other mods include a drink holder, bell and extra lights for safety.
    .
    I’m a retired pro photographer so I needed the means to carry my birding lens gear along with my trusty and vintage GoPro HD with the add-on LCD screen … yep, batteries! Hahaha!
    LOVED your video of the St. Pete to Tarpon Pinellas Trail experience on e-bikes! I’m working up to doing a RT in one day to Dunedin for lunch. It starts at the end of the drive on the East side where there is a decent parking area. This is the Southern terminus of the Skyway trail, which will get you into South St. Pete. From there it's an easy ride to Gulfport through Clam Bayou trail and nice loop to the beaches. Coming back past the Don Ceasar.

    Great video !!! What hotel did you all stay in?
    Kinda a long comment:
    I also want to thank you for your videos. Our son Joshua Piazza was the motorcyclist killed on Central Ave in September and I just have to tell you my husband and I vegged out on your channel on the afternoons shortly after losing him because your videos gave us a sense of comfort and normalcy. Josh loved St.Pete and now I want to explore there more and these videos help know where. I have Lupus and walking is difficult at times and I have not rode a bike in years but one of my desires is to ride some of the Pinellas Trail like Josh did when he was younger. I did not know how I was going to do that because finances are tight right now and we don't have bikes but now I know next year who to call for renting bikes and where to go. Thank you for this video, it gets me closer to my pumpkin's memory 🥰

      Shannon, we are so sorry for your loss 😔 we can't imagine what you and your husband have gone through over the past several months. Love and hugs to you both as you continue to cope with his loss ❤️ Exploring St Pete and the trail sound like wonderful ways to remember and stay connected to him.
      As far as your question, we stayed in the Quality Inn in Tarpon Springs. It was really just a place to sleep and have breakfast. If there are other questions we can answer please let us know.
      When you do eventually get on the trail we hope you have a wonderful time.

    This was one of my favorite videos from you guys. My wife and I have ebikes as well for several years now. They are so much fun! Started out with two Ariel Rider x class 52 V's but it was too much bike for my wife. Sold hers and bought her a Vivi step 26" step-thru. She was much more comfortable on it. Would love to know what you end up buying if you do. Enjoy!

    • @Explorcation
      @Explorcation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for sharing, Billy. I had to look up the Ariel Rider. That's a cool looking bike. We would definitely love that 70+ mile range, although not sure how our butts would handle 70 miles in on day. I guess if we worked up to it they would probably adapt! But most likely Jamie would end up preferring the Vivi just as your wife does!

    • @billyc3757

      @@Explorcation The Vivi is cheap but more than adequate. The Ariel Rider will go 37 Mph and it handles hills and rougher terrain with no problem. Keep cranking out the great videos for Florida. We watch them weekly.

    Whenever I go to Burlington, I rent electric bikes and do this trail. It's beautiful and amazing: The Island Line Trail, also known as the Colchester Causeway, is a 13.4-mile rail trail located in northwest Vermont. It comprises the Burlington Bike Path (Burlington), Colchester Park (Colchester) and the Allen Point Access Area (South Hero). The trail follows the route of the Island Line railroad, built by the Rutland Railroad in 1901. Such a great ride.

    VERY tasty looking foods and drinks! I’m glad you included prices, and I’m a bit surprised how expensive a lot of it was. Is that typical of Florida? (Michigan e-biker here). We have the Lectric Step-thru and Lectric XP 2.0 (one year anniversary this Christmas) and we love them. Great bikes at the $999 price point.

    • @Explorcation

      I wouldn't say Florida as a whole is expensive, but Pinellas County has been getting considerably more expensive lately. We've heard a lot of great feedback on the Lectric bikes, and we'll definitely look into them further when it comes time for us to finally buy our own!
