These videos should be included in history classes. West Indian history taught in schools is incomplete without this crucial information.

I am a Jamaican born to a Jamaican father 🇯🇲and Guyanese mother 🇬🇾I found out that Guyana had an uprising before Haiti and Jamaica and before the American Revolution even happened the Berbice uprising and its videos on TH-cam talking about it and articles on google and books are being published about the maroons that were in Guyana that the British killed and Britain Cheat Guyana out of their independence they were supposed to get their independence 1990 but Britain and America feared that British Guiana was going to powerful like Cuba because they were developing faster than some of the Caribbean islands so they ripped the document and they said the White House has a bunch of documents on Guyana when it was called British Guiana back then and even now than any other countries documented in their files

@mentalno.178 It's called Guyana now, neibouring Venezuela and Suriname. It was British Guiana when it was ruled by the English.

True the Berbice Rebellion was successful for 1 year before the Dutch with the help of the Amerindians who were paid for each Head and or Limbs of African enslaved peoples captured were able to take back the County of Berbice from Kofi (Cuffy) the Leader from the Gold Coast now Ghana.

Guyana independence should have been in 1965 not 1990.guyana independence was in 1966 four years after jamica which is still now an independence country not republic.King Charles is the head of state of jamica.

This is the truth which is still hidden under the soil of history. All the indentured countries should join to together as a CommonCrossing People to make the history and memory of indentured labourers as well as Slavery included in United Nation Education System. This subject is vital to humanity to draw awareness and consciousness on all the prejudice injustice discrimination suspicion hostility and racism still exist because of ignorance of root of history and memory. The falsification of history by the west has a purpose for division and hostility.A very educational video to bring us all in the field where ever we all belong to the to the motherland through sea cross and sugarcane field.

I am English born to a Mauritian Father. A few years ago I found out i have family in Trinidad. Seems I could have family in any one of the British occupied countries. I discovered my family arrived in Mauritius from Bihar in the 1850's. The ship that carried them from Kalkutta was called the Waterwitch,. With respect to the British being tight on accurately logging everything, and the Mauritius indentured labour records department, we found a photo of my forefather with a signed contract. The conditions were extremely poor and there must have been a sense that they were tricked!!

Actually I came from Kalabari in Eastern Ijaw from southern Nigeria. I'm particularly interested with the word Kala which means "small", so when you add the word Kala to Pani which will means small plate. We still use the word "Pani" today but remember that it was a borrowed word from the erstwhile colonial masters due long trade both the legitimate and illegitimate trade. I am historian by training and honestly I am so much interested in Guyana... and that is because I have no trouble in understanding some of the documented berbice Creole words which were now extinct...

KALA PANI are 2 Hindi words meaning black water. it has nothing to do with being borrowed from colonial masters. It is referring to crossing the ocean from India to the Caribbean
