According to air up channel videos explanation, the way it works is that the pod adds flavored air bubbles to the water, so you get the flavor scent from the water going into your mouth up to your nose from inside, not from actually smelling the pod while you drink or having any other special technique and certainly don't mention anything about leaving the pod activated overnight. My guess is it only works for some people because how much of that air you perceive depends on the composition of your nose and throat passages and simply just how you suck and swallow when drinking which may vary from person to person. I ordered this before seeing any reviews and now I'm thinking it's probably not worth the gamble to try, and just return it without opening it.
I bought the Bottle and I have used it for about 4 months: it has worked amazingly since! I do agree with you that it is a 50/50 thing because some of my friends bought one and it didn't work for them :(. Great review!

It's meant to be a simple water bottle, not something that you need a degree in rocket science to use 😂 I was thinking about getting one of these but definitely not going to anymore. Rather just force myself to drink plain water or try a cheap alternative like sellotape an orange segment to my top lip while drinking some water 🤣

Hello everyone, I have an air up and I just wanted to say that it works really well for me, I have tried numerous pods and the one that tastes strongest in my opinion is sweet coconut even tho I’m not that big a fan of coconuts. It works a lot better with sparkling water. The one I hate most is watermelon and yes some air ups don’t work all too well I’ve tasted from other people bottles and theirs sometimes taste wired but mine doesn’t and my brother and sisters one works too. Wild berry is also a great flavour and no offource this won’t taste like and acctually fizzy drink but damn it tastes good with sparkling water, and no I’m just someone that is not payed to write this, it’s my genuine opinion.
I have the product and love it. But have recognised that it works best with small sips that you swallow straight away, if you swill it in your mouth then it won’t work
If you have to do things that the company don't state you should do then it doesn't work. It's insane. 'It'll work if you stand on your hand and put your nose right into the bottle and sniff deeply five times while drinking!' Uh huh. Maybe they're plants. 🤣 Also not being able to get your money back after you've used it is batshit crazy and screams scam. Even if the product worked, that would make me not buy from them! It's always within your right to get money back for a product that doesn't work.
Yes I don't really know much about legal implications but it seems to have a lot of variables to make it work which I wasn't expecting when I purchased it.

I’ve only tried the cherry cola flavor so far, going to try a lemon one later, but it does make the water taste different when the flavor pod is activated vs not activated. I think it does need to be known though that I’ve been drinking Hint flavored waters for multiple years now, and at this point in time Hint waters taste super strong to me, because I’m used to the super duper subtle taste of them, but when I first started drinking them, I could barely detect any sort of flavour at all in the same flavours that are my favourites today. The Air Up water tastes weaker to me than the Hint waters do. I do not think I’d be able to perceive any sort of taste if I was not already able to taste Hint strongly after drinking them for such an extended period. Took me maybe four months for those to taste strong to me. I drink Air Up with the bottle vertical while holding my breath, it’s just how I drink, idk if that’s normal or not.

READ THIS if you are having problems with flavor...simple solution so I actually figured it out... The problem is when people drink out of the bottle like a regular water bottle, they end up getting way too many parts water compared to the 1 little part scented air. Once the water travels up the straw it cuts off the air off, or at least is just way too much water for the amount of air it is letting in. It isn't adding flavor to the water, this is not co2 under pressure. It isn't being distilled through fruit...its simply a way to suck some scented air into your mouth with the water....just gotta have the right ratio. My solution: small sips. Like tablespoon size. for each tablespoon of water you get that 1 tiny puff of scented air. MUCH STRONGER CONCENTRATION this way, and you don't need to try and breath while you drink. Remember, you are not supposed to taste anything on your tongue, this is strictly pallet flavor. You should not be breathing it through your nose to get the flavor, the air needs to enter your mouth to hit your pallet. table spoon sip, letting the water fall each time to clear the hole to get the next air puff with the next tablespoon. Using this method, it actually works and makes drinking just water all the time a little more enjoyable.

So I just got one and I was confused when the peach flavor tasted off then I noticed the hole in the back of the straw and the a hole in the back of the pod. I had to mess with it a little bit and noticed that pulling it up as high as they wanted wasn't working well. I have to mess with it a little bit lower to get the proper taste.
I've had 2 of these bottles for a few weeks now which my young daughter uses, she noticed black flakes in the water, I've had a look and the rubber seal is disintegrating on the inside. Both bottles have only been handwashed (no dishwasher). I need to try and get full refund as they're faulty. Avoid at all costs!
I had high hopes, at first was amazed by the concept and it does have a bit of a feeling like flavoured water, however, build is crap and doesn't work properly. When scent is activated, the drinking experience is like sipping your drink with crushed ice from a straw when the drink is nearly finished. Effort and noisy sips the whole bottle of water through!!
Did you wanna try the cirkul water bottle or infuze? They both work great, though cirkul is easier to suck, and infuze is better on the flavor access as with cirkul you must use their pods.
As a 16 year old, I have sinus issues and need surgery when im 18 and need to take otrivine every day but even there air up bottle was dissapointing to me as well.
For me I think it’s the person not the water bottle as loads of people I’ve met who have an air up bottle say it’s really pungent and really nice ! So I bought one with the wild berry pod and in my opinion it tasted really faint but after a few times of drinking it I got a little bit more of a pungent taste so idk if it’s me but I think it takes time!

You can just put a fruit in the bottle, get any fruit like an orange squeeze it so the juice goes in the bottle then put the orange in shake it (ALOT) and drink it. (Note: the more longer the drink the fruit is in the drink the more taste and shake it from time to time.)
The thing is, it isn’t supposed to give you a kick of flavour. It is only supposed to give you a hint but tastable flavour. I know, the ads are very misleading picturing a taste of the actual fruits very strongly and even I was deceived and bought it. Still, it definitely doesn’t taste like ordinary, plain water.

For me when I first brought my air up when I tried it fist it didn't work and it was useless but after a while I found out that when u are drinking from the bottle u need to like smell it while u are drinking ot and plus it does still taste like water but u can still taste the sense
Is it a good idea anyway to inhale what's in the pods? Its a perfume they say? Obviously not water soluble so it doesn't stay in the water and go I your stomach but directly into your lungs! Ever looked at the range of chemicals in perfumes? Even ones from pure natural plant extracts ketones, esters, terpinoids?

I checked Amazon before I bought this but there was nothing on there that resembled this. I see now that Amazon have a cheaper version with the bottle only 7.99 if people want to try it. They do pods too. But it has been a disappointment for me.

Not saying it's gonna taste like juice or anything, but I did research a bit to find out why it was different for a bunch of people. The biggest (more reasonable) point is that you should take into account neuroplasticity so like how much ur brain is still evolving and adapting, as younger people have more neuroplasticity it happens quicker/easier for them, so depending on your age you might need to drink more times before you get the full experience (this should be explained by the company but oh well). It also has to do with your actual ability to smell so different people will have different experiences just based off of that, decreased overall sense of smell won't get as much flavor. Also forcefully inhaling/smelling as you drink will probably worsen your experience, it's meant to be based mostly on the smell you get through your mouth, not nose, you'll probably get more flavor if you drink naturally.

It’s funny cuz I tried my friends one ages ago and it was only a taste in the back of my mouth. Then the other day I tried my friends one which she had 2 pods with her cherry cola and lemon, and they didn’t work. I tried it again today and oh my god it tasted like I put lemon in my water. I was mind blown! So I still don’t know what’s up with me 😂
wouldn't it be better just to buy a £1-£3 bottle then cut up some fruit leave it for an hour it'll not be as bold as juice or coke etc but itll flavour the water if you steeped like strawberrys , I think theres fusion bottles designed for it, no where near 35 quid tho

It kinda of works but it needs improvement. The best I can describe is when you put small amounts of squash and a lot of water. It's an interesting new product which hopefully improves. Bit on the expensive side

Don't buy airup without reading this. TLDR: Don't buy if you don't like sparkling water. It's has even less flavor, but without the fizz. I bought it as a white elephant gift thinking it was interesting, but the "flavor" was chemically. I bought the starter pack and the sampler. Their return policy is if you open it, you cannot return it, and therefore, no refund. Obviously for white elephant, people will open it to try it. They wouldn't even give a partial refund even though I didn't use any of the other scent modules. I basically just paid $70 for a water bottle that isn't even good on it's own because it is specifically designed to be used with the modules. It does not seal tight in order to let air in as you drink and smell. Although I tried to get reimbursed somehow, the only thing I can do is share my experience as this situation is not covered by my card benefits.

My opinion: The amount of flavour enhancements people consume is so terribly big that a lot of people don't feel the taste and smell it either - the receptors are totally burned. If you try to stop consuming these unnatural products, in some time you will be able to feel this one as intended. And definitely the sugar we eat in the enormous amounts does affect this too. That's it. P.S. you don't have to smell additionally actually while drinking - that's enough just to drink.

I was soooo excited to get this as I hate water it makes me gag. A waste of money that I didn’t really have but thought it would be good for me to drink more water for my health. I've literally just this second unboxed it, filled it up, put a pod in it and literally nothing. Got the peach, kola and coffee flavour and theres no taste aside from water which I really dont like the taste of. I can smell the pods, they smell nice, but absolutely no taste for me ;( I was really hoping this would work for me cus I want to be healthier and drink water but I hate squashy tasting things, flavoured water (as in water with actual flavours in them) and water itself. A bit of a waste of £50 for me unfortunately ;(

Much to my disapproval, my daughter got one this morning for her birthday. All the kids in her class have got one and she didn't want to be left out. I guess it vaguely tastes of cola but maybe we need to let the cartridge settle or whatever. But. Even if it does work, people seem to be forgetting that they've paid £40 for a plastic water bottle. I think the problem is, if you drink the air up wanting and concentrating on the taste, you won't get it. You should drink water as naturally as you can. If it then doesn't work well that's you. But it works for me constantly.

I would say alot of its perception and how your brain perceives things. I think some is user error by no fault of their own as the instructions aren't clear . What I really found works is drinking the water normally not focusing on how I drink it and am I doing it right. Now I'm getting the flavours really strong and so is my partner. The problem at the end of the day is - the product does work, it is proven and I can vouch to it. So really the company should look at some amending of the returns policy. And finally if you don't want to pay £35 for a product, don't pay for it. Its their right to sell for the price they want. I want a £600 ice cream maker but I don't want to pay that much but I'm not moaning at the company for the steep cost.

I had high hopes, at first was amazed by the concept and it does have a bit of a feeling like flavoured water, however, build is crap and doesn't work properly. When scent is activated, the drinking experience is like sipping your drink with crushed ice from a straw when the drink is nearly finished. Effort and noisy sips the whole bottle of water through!!
The crushed ice at the bottom of the drink is a very good description to be fair.

Did you wanna try the cirkul water bottle or infuze? They both work great, though cirkul is easier to suck, and infuze is better on the flavor access as with cirkul you must use their pods.

It’s a scam I have one and it doesn’t work at all once I had a brand new pod from a new packet and the next morning it was scentless
For me I think it’s the person not the water bottle as loads of people I’ve met who have an air up bottle say it’s really pungent and really nice ! So I bought one with the wild berry pod and in my opinion it tasted really faint but after a few times of drinking it I got a little bit more of a pungent taste so idk if it’s me but I think it takes time!

You can just put a fruit in the bottle, get any fruit like an orange squeeze it so the juice goes in the bottle then put the orange in shake it (ALOT) and drink it. (Note: the more longer the drink the fruit is in the drink the more taste and shake it from time to time.)

The thing is, it isn’t supposed to give you a kick of flavour. It is only supposed to give you a hint but tastable flavour. I know, the ads are very misleading picturing a taste of the actual fruits very strongly and even I was deceived and bought it. Still, it definitely doesn’t taste like ordinary, plain water.

For me when I first brought my air up when I tried it fist it didn't work and it was useless but after a while I found out that when u are drinking from the bottle u need to like smell it while u are drinking ot and plus it does still taste like water but u can still taste the sense

Is it a good idea anyway to inhale what's in the pods? Its a perfume they say? Obviously not water soluble so it doesn't stay in the water and go I your stomach but directly into your lungs! Ever looked at the range of chemicals in perfumes? Even ones from pure natural plant extracts ketones, esters, terpinoids?

Not saying it's gonna taste like juice or anything, but I did research a bit to find out why it was different for a bunch of people. The biggest (more reasonable) point is that you should take into account neuroplasticity so like how much ur brain is still evolving and adapting, as younger people have more neuroplasticity it happens quicker/easier for them, so depending on your age you might need to drink more times before you get the full experience (this should be explained by the company but oh well).
It also has to do with your actual ability to smell so different people will have different experiences just based off of that, decreased overall sense of smell won't get as much flavor.
Also forcefully inhaling/smelling as you drink will probably worsen your experience, it's meant to be based mostly on the smell you get through your mouth, not nose, you'll probably get more flavor if you drink naturally.

Then the other day I tried my friends one which she had 2 pods with her cherry cola and lemon, and they didn’t work. I tried it again today and oh my god it tasted like I put lemon in my water. wouldn't it be better just to buy a £1-£3 bottle then cut up some fruit leave it for an hour it'll not be as bold as juice or coke etc but itll flavour the water if you steeped like strawberrys , I think theres fusion bottles designed for it, no where near 35 quid tho

It kinda of works but it needs improvement. The best I can describe is when you put small amounts of squash and a lot of water. It's an interesting new product which hopefully improves. Bit on the expensive side

TLDR: Don't buy if you don't like sparkling water. It's has even less flavor, but without the fizz.
I bought it as a white elephant gift thinking it was interesting, but the "flavor" was chemically.
I bought the starter pack and the sampler. Their return policy is if you open it, you cannot return it, and therefore, no refund. Obviously for white elephant, people will open it to try it. They wouldn't even give a partial refund even though I didn't use any of the other scent modules. I basically just paid $70 for a water bottle that isn't even good on it's own because it is specifically designed to be used with the modules. It does not seal tight in order to let air in as you drink and smell. Although I tried to get reimbursed somehow, the only thing I can do is share my experience as this situation is not covered by my card benefits.

My opinion: The amount of flavour enhancements people consume is so terribly big that a lot of people don't feel the taste and smell it either - the receptors are totally burned. If you try to stop consuming these unnatural products, in some time you will be able to feel this one as intended. And definitely the sugar we eat in the enormous amounts does affect this too. That's it.
P.S. you don't have to smell additionally actually while drinking - that's enough just to drink.

I've literally just this second unboxed it, filled it up, put a pod in it and literally nothing. Got the peach, kola and coffee flavour and theres no taste aside from water which I really dont like the taste of. I can smell the pods, they smell nice, but absolutely no taste for me ;( I was really hoping this would work for me cus I want to be healthier and drink water but I hate squashy tasting things, flavoured water (as in water with actual flavours in them) and water itself. A bit of a waste of £50 for me unfortunately ;(

I think the problem is, if you drink the air up wanting and concentrating on the taste, you won't get it. You should drink water as naturally as you can. If it then doesn't work well that's you. But it works for me constantly.

I think some is user error by no fault of their own as the instructions aren't clear .
What I really found works is drinking the water normally not focusing on how I drink it and am I doing it right. Now I'm getting the flavours really strong and so is my partner.
The problem at the end of the day is - the product does work, it is proven and I can vouch to it. So really the company should look at some amending of the returns policy.
And finally if you don't want to pay £35 for a product, don't pay for it. Its their right to sell for the price they want.
