    Now that is how you freaking drive!!! Flawless victory

    Response is precisely immediate, positive with authority. The only thing I’m not realizing in this video is pitch changes in the simulator relative to the inclinations or vice versa on the track.

    It seems to me that 6dof systems doesn't lean much to the side to simulate lateral g-force. Is that because it would be to hard to return to level without the driver noticing it?

      Just what I was thinking

    The hardware looks nice, but the motion profile seems quite off. There is almost zero roll, and almost zero pitch. It seems as though the motion is more following the world coordinates rather than the x/y/z of the car chassis. e.g. turn right/left, no horizontal roll detected, brake, no pitch. That's not realistic. It's nothing software/tuning can't fix, but I would suggest that it is important at this level.

      acceleration / brake simulation by pitch is incorrect, as well as simulation of overloads in corners by roll. That's what amateur 3DOF machines do because they can't surge and sway. This is a professional simulator which simulates the braking and acceleration by surge and forces in corners by sway.

      @@rafalpiekut1660 e.g. a real car pitches when you hit the brake, it does not act primarily on the surge DOF (though I agree it could be secondarily impacted). Even at that, there is action neither on the pitch nor on the surge DOF. Again, seems like a tuning problem not a hardware problem, but since braking is the most intense force in a race car and this video shows little movement under braking, I have to conclude there is significant opportunity for improvement.

      @@kevinross9533 in the LMP2 car there is no pitch during braking and acceleration, so unfortunately you are wrong. There is no problem with the settings here, everything is correct.

    • @kevinross9533

      @@rafalpiekut1660 If you have no action on the surge or pitch DOF (effectively flat response), how then are you tricking the body and brain into thinking it is under a heavy momentary G load during braking?

    • @rafalpiekut1660
      @rafalpiekut1660 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kevinross9533 don't you see the action on the surge? it is impossible to simulate long-lasting forces during braking and acceleration, this is physically impossible, only the initial aggressive phase can be simulated, and these impulses are perfectly simulated here, aggressive short movements during the start of braking and acceleration.

      Well 6dof is possible diy in 5-6k range on AC servo motors or 3k on other stuff, but with compromizes, and obviosly it will take lots of time and effort, plus learning curve :)

    Well done but you need to take on board the kindly meant but critical comments from some here who are obviously knowledgeable about simulating g forces. Your ego appears to be doing your quality of experience a disservice.
