@@Takahashi_Takeda then why watch a video on it if you don't even know the characters lmao. Not like this one is groundbreaking for helping people with the lore or characters

I’m someone who had played all the other tekken games but never got tekken 4. I played it this year and loved it, you can really see how it bridged the different tech between Tag and 5. The sound track is great and the stages are super cool, I love the airport
Started my journey with this series with T5 but I gotta say T4 has the best overall soundtrack. Authentic Sky is my personal favorite track from the series
Not sure how I missed this but growing up as a huge Tekken fan I’ve been waiting for this one! Your videos are pretty cozy and laidback, simply some dude revisiting some of gaming’s most iconic franchises. I love watching them for the informative yet non polished vibe these videos give off. Keep doing what you’re doing man, even if you stop doing the “I played every game” series, I know you’ll keep evolving your content and make something good.
Honestly, I would love to see a full video on Death by Degrees. The game is so odd and fascinating, and doesn't really seem to get much coverage, even when it was new
There are some interesting elements to the controls, and with practice you can actually pull off some seriously cool shit. So many "action games" just take their combat from DMC, so I always appreciate it when a game takes a different approach. The Resident Evil style exploration and puzzles is gratifying too.
Tekken Tag 1 was my first video game, ever. So I have a lot of nostalgia and love for this series. Music, characters, stories, UGH! Loved this video. Thanks!
18:41 afaik, in tekken 7, they have "punishment training" in practice mode where the opponent does an attack and the game tells you which move is the best to punish the enemy with. in the harder mode, you have to remember which moves you can use to punish.
This made me go download an emulator to play Tekken 3 again. It's my first gaming memory. My dad used to be a gamer back in the 90s, so when my parents split in '98, he started letting me watch, and eventually play with him. I can't even imagine seeing a 3 year old playing a 2D fighter but he probably needed the wins. Didn't take me too long to actually get better than him though, and that's when he didn't want to play with me anymore and started grabbing single-players instead. Great memories. It also made me tech-savvy as heck, so kudos to him.
Nice video, I really enjoyed seeing your experience with this franchise. There are some things that I can nitpick about but overall, it's nothing major. To answer your question at 24:00, the names from the AI I believe are actually sampled from arcade users during playtesting and early access to the arcade version of the game.
Fun fact about the CPU in Tekken 6-7. I know TTT2 used to pull Ghost Data from the servers and had you play against Ghosts that represented actual players + VF4 and VF5's Kumite/Quest Mode actually had the AI opponents be based on real players, to where the highest ranked characters were folks like Chibata, Ohsu Akira, Bunbunmaru, etc.
Tekken 3 will always hold a special place in my heart because it’s the first fighting game I remember playing as a kid, my oldest brother put me onto it and as a kid alongside the first Mortal Kombat. The no voice dialogue gave it kind of a creepy/mysterious vibe especially both Jin and Hwoarang’s arcade endings, they always both intrigued and creeped me out as a kid seeing Devil Jin
The tekken 5 intro starts from the Jins ending in tekken 4 because you can see the hole in the roof with feathers floating around from devil Jin. Hwoarangs ending was my favorite with the music and devil jins intimidating walk. All the humor endings like Lee, Law, Paul and Panda/Kuma are also fun.
24:03 the names came from the original arcades that the Tekken 5 arcade version was played on, they just ripped a bunch of ghost names from the arcade machines and put them in the disc.
Yeah for Tekken 4 Kazuya's remains were found and the lab at G corp decided to take him in and revive him with his Devil Gene, which is why he's all scarred up

If you like the environmental destruction in Tekken 5, you might enjoy the DOA series. It takes the concept of interactive stages and dials it up to 100 (in fact, I think it was the game that made interactive stages popular in 3D fighters)
Tekken 5 ost also makes this game so good back at the time.. i really like the moonlight ost and cathedral theme, the stages also make the two ost fit so well where you can feel the vibe.

what casual and competitive tekken fan's need to look out for now on is that when a character that has Leroy Smith level's of drip pray he or she isn't broken🤣 or a iconic 2d fighter comes in and fold everyone
This video gave me nice bits of nostalgia! Tekken was a big part of my childhood. Did you play these in each of their consoles? How did you get them all and played?
Oh man, I was here waiting for you to talk about the Tekken Ball mode in Tekken 3 but it's not in the video... :( That mode was so freaking fun, the fact that you could play volleyball in Tekken was just... amazing.
When you're talking about the characters in the roster, you should show who they are for any newcomers to understand and to show if they would have an interest in a certain character.
Yeah, I started doing that in part 2 after a few people suggested that. It's honestly a good idea and I should've been doing it the whole time. Thanks! :)
I love Tekken 4. it was my first Tekken ever, and it still feels rare. It misses all these extraordinary Characters like Jack, Devil, Devil Jin ... It feels more "realistic". The Environment is real, it isn't just Background you are really there. This Tekken has many things, that are only in Tekken 4. I always wonder why Tekken 4 is so different. Also the Health Bars are really different in Style compared to any other Tekken Game.
I liked watching this. I grew up playing fighting games on the PS2 (specifically Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Soulcalibur 3) and I only played Tekken three times on the PS2 and a LOT of times on arcades. In fact, Tekken is one of the most popular arcade fighting games in Greece.
tbh, my favourite Tekken is Tekken 5. It's probably because I have too much nostalgia for it because it was one of the first games I ever played. I still couldn't beat the Devil Within tho 🤣
I know everyone shits on tag 2 but man is my favourite in the series.and i know pros complained about it being unballanced, but for me as an casual fighting game player and a big tekken fan this is a superb game: huge rooster, fun gameplay,music,stages...everything is just superb!
I really enjoyed watching your video as a Tekken fan myself, and even I had never heard of Death by Degrees before watching this! Definitely subbed! 👍😎😄
Tekken Card Tournament did come back, as a mobile game. Unfortunately it didn't last very long but it had physical cards you could buy for it to add into the game or play in person. I miss it dearly.
Btw for those that don't know, u need to know that hiyachi threw kazuya off a cliff as a kid, kazuyas story where has him throw he's dad off a cliff hahah, revenge and that smile hahahaha
Tekken 5 was my first Tekken game and I absolutely love it. I remember playing it with my dad when I was very young, and seeing gameplay of 5 and comparing it to 7, kinda hits me with a sense of "damn, I'm starting to get old", and I'm not sure how to feel about that lmao
It still fascinates me how a cross between two of the greatest IPs in fighting games didn't work.Bandai namco even cancelled tekken x street fighter which was in development for quite a while. Also Akuma being in T7 pretty much confirms that the tekken and SF universe are interlinked somehow.(I don't know exactly how, possibly the multiverse). So there is a high possibility some tekken guest characters might come in SF6
There's no shame to begin by the 5th, pal (maybe you're young?). That was a great episode, and the last episode I enjoyed, at least you started with a real old school game. I don't know what Tekken is my favourite one, but I know it's on PS3 ( three posibilities)
@@jabba969 ah, I'm 28 too, but beginning by Tekken 5 on PS2....that felt strange, for me! 😊 Depends on how you liked the Playstation, or how you heard about Tekken, or maybe how tou decided "this morning, I gonna start a Tekken game!" But that's great
Nice! And to be honest, i didn't played every Tekken game. In my young age i played only 2D fighting games on NES and Mega Drive, but after i got my very first PC and later found out about emulation, i started to learn about other games on other platforms, and that is how i found out about Tekken. But my very first Tekke game was Tekken 3. And i didn't even knew about other Tekken games until, like 2016 maybe. Sure, i understood that if there is Tekken 3 then there should be Tekken 1 and 2, and so i played them later after i played Tekken 3. But, as you might understand, Tekken 1 and 2 in comparison to Tekken 3 was like ground and sky. And if Tekken 1 and 2 was a ground then Tekken 3 was for sure a sky. In fact, Tekken 3 remains my favorite Tekken game even now. But, like i said, i didn't played every Tekken game, and after Tekken 3, after some time, i played Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection on PSP via emulator, and Tekken 6 but PSP version. And to be honest, i didn't really liked them as much as i like Tekken 3 for example. Sure, they have new content and stuff, but i'm not a fighting game expert, thus i didn't found any new moves or improvements in fighting system, thus why, for me at least, Tekken 5 and 6 are not important, cause they remain the same, only with few changes. And compare that to other fighting games like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, where every new game in the series has new moves, new fighting mechanics and improvements, and you will understand what i'm talking about. Later i found out about first and second Tekken Tag Tournament, but i only managed to play first one, cause i don't own any modern console, and emulation of those two games are not perfect, except for the arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 1. Thus how i played Tekken TT1 - via Mame emulator. And it is a cool game, but there is not really anything interesting going on in that game, so i played it few times and forgot about it. For now, the only Tekken games that i skiped is Tekken 4, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken 7. Sure, i know that Tekken 7 is on PC, but do to my PC been old for that game, and do to the war that russia recently started against us my country, which is Ukraine, i can't play Tekken 7 cause i can't buy new PC. Sure, i could do that before war started, but new hardware was so expensive that i could not afford it. But then again, i played Tekken on Game Boy and even some bootleg Tekken games on Mega Drive, including Virtua Fighter vs Tekken. Andt hose were some weird ones. And i also played Street Fighter X Tekken, and i REALLY love that game. It was very fun to play back in the days, and i was playing it even these days. And when war stops, i'm for sure gonna find new job, get some money and buy myself modern PC to play Tekken 7 for sure. And even other Tekken games that i skiped, if emulation will be improved until that time.
What's your favorite Tekken game?

"I didn't grow up with Tekken"
Oh great. Opinion discarded
"I did grow up with Soul Calibur"
BASEEED
what casual and competitive tekken fan's need to look out for now on is that when a character that has Leroy Smith level's of drip pray he or she isn't broken🤣 or a iconic 2d fighter comes in and fold everyone
Dripless Devil Jin, Julia, Zafina: mew
Tekken 5 will always have a special place in my heart
This video gave me nice bits of nostalgia! Tekken was a big part of my childhood. Did you play these in each of their consoles? How did you get them all and played?
Oh man, I was here waiting for you to talk about the Tekken Ball mode in Tekken 3 but it's not in the video... :( That mode was so freaking fun, the fact that you could play volleyball in Tekken was just... amazing.
I didn't find out it existed until after I made the video ): I did cover the TTT2 version in part 2, though!
Consistently good content
Very good video. Well edited, interesting and covers the Tekken games real nicely. Great job bro keep up the work 👍
Tekken 3 is my favorite one on the series
Really glad this came up in my recommendation, keep up the great work!
When you're talking about the characters in the roster, you should show who they are for any newcomers to understand and to show if they would have an interest in a certain character.
Yeah, I started doing that in part 2 after a few people suggested that. It's honestly a good idea and I should've been doing it the whole time. Thanks! :)
Been waiting for this one
I love Tekken 4. it was my first Tekken ever, and it still feels rare. It misses all these extraordinary Characters like Jack, Devil, Devil Jin ...
It feels more "realistic". The Environment is real, it isn't just Background you are really there.
This Tekken has many things, that are only in Tekken 4. I always wonder why Tekken 4 is so different. Also the Health Bars are really different in Style compared to any other Tekken Game.
Tekken 4 almost felt like an experimental game that they then refined for 5. It did some pretty different stuff!
@@Niosai yeah exactly... This made it feel akward when this was your first Tekken Game.
@@AlryFireBlade it's storytelling and character development is 🔥
Tekken 4 was the Tekken game i played the least!
@@GenyaArikado That's sad :(
soon as i saw the soul caliber video i was waiting for this video let’s go
Bro
Katsuhiro Harada tweeted this video out
Congrats!
I'm still in shock!
Tekken 4 is my favorite. Best stories for each character, the most beautiful stages and very good soundtrack.
Tekken 5: Dark resurrection still has the best intro in the series and you cannot tell me otherwise
I started off with Tekken 5 good times.
@Tekken Theatre I had him unlocked tho. I'm pretty sure u unlock him by beating the story mode as Jin
Ayee good work this is quality I can see the amount of effort you put in.
Harada tweeted this
Played and beaten even Tekken game myself. Love the franchise to this day and patiently waiting for Tekken 8
I know everyone shits on tag 2 but man is my favourite in the series.and i know pros complained about it being unballanced, but for me as an casual fighting game player and a big tekken fan this is a superb game: huge rooster, fun gameplay,music,stages...everything is just superb!
Ok Niosai!!! Favorite fighting game of all time! THANK YOU 🙏🏽
I really enjoyed watching your video as a Tekken fan myself, and even I had never heard of Death by Degrees before watching this!
Definitely subbed! 👍😎😄
Thanks! I definitely want to revisit Death By Degrees sometime because it's just so weird lol
I'm calling Marduk, Mar-Duke from now on.
Tekken ball and tekken bowl were actually some of the most fun modes in the whole series, great memories with friends playing those
Tekken 2 still the most iconic to me , that intro still badass till this day
Tekken 5 was my first Tekken game and I absolutely love it. I remember playing it with my dad when I was very young, and seeing gameplay of 5 and comparing it to 7, kinda hits me with a sense of "damn, I'm starting to get old", and I'm not sure how to feel about that lmao
My man really called Jin Kazama, Gene for the whole duration of this video
Part 2 explains why lmao
pls thats the correct pronounciation lmaoooo can anglos stop enforcing their phonology on other languages?
16:35 I never knew that you could play as the patriots in Tekken. Amazing ♥️
The devil within mode actually feel fresh. They should remake that game into action rpg.
Such a fabulous upload, great job ✨
my support is here and have a nice day ✨👍
Thanks for giving Tekken 4 the credit it deserves. It's the best game in the series along with 5.
Him calling jin as jean is killing me😭😭😭😭😭
The Tekken 8 trailer must've been brutal for you 😂
@@Niosai The Tekken 8 trailer still used Ji-hn and not Jean. (That being said, pronounce it the way you want it's your content.)
Wow I had no idea Death by Degrees even existed. It actually looks awesome
Trike no 3 was my fave. Loved playing against friends on the weekends in the summer time
Same.
Growing up, was good.
Tekken 3's intro was a dope for the time and still has a solid atmosphere.
Tekken 4 is my personal favorite because of all cut scenes through each character is well received and got better.
Great work as always!
When will we be getting 'I played every Resident Evil game'? Halloween!?
Anyway, keep it up!
Violet was actually released in takken two but you had to push the select button over Lee to acquire him
I was always a Soul Calibur kid too! I grew up on Soul Calibur 2 and 3. In fact, 2 was my first game ever. Glad to see that other people relate.
Alright, now I challenge you to play every Street Fighter game and every Mortal Kombat game
My recommendations always on point.
I started with Tekken 5. Still the only Tekken I really played but I still feel a love for the game and franchise thanks to that entry.
There's no shame to begin by the 5th, pal (maybe you're young?). That was a great episode, and the last episode I enjoyed, at least you started with a real old school game. I don't know what Tekken is my favourite one, but I know it's on PS3 ( three posibilities)
@@dezede591 Depends on what you call young. I wouldn't call 28 years old young in the gaming world, but when it comes to fighting games perhaps it is.
@@jabba969 ah, I'm 28 too, but beginning by Tekken 5 on PS2....that felt strange, for me! 😊 Depends on how you liked the Playstation, or how you heard about Tekken, or maybe how tou decided "this morning, I gonna start a Tekken game!"
But that's great
Nice video!
Tekken 3 was my first one and my favorite! But you don't talk about the Tekken ball mod?
Thank you for your huuge work! Big fan of Tekken series❤️
