I'm back again... If you’ve played the original, much of this may look familiar, like parrying attacks with a shield, taunting nearby enemies and stinger-like stabs. Perhaps the coolest part is the counter into a shield bash, followed by a combo on one of the larger enemies, attacking with Empale will “release a stabbing strike straight forward.” Core Skill for the Fighter, one that players can use immediately. It can be also be used as an interrupt when timed correctly.
I appreciate the detail you go into for each one of these. :) Comes in handy for those of us who didn't use some of these vocations much in DD1, like me. Only briefly tried Fighter but might make it my starting class for DD2.
Def helpful - appreciate your detailed review of each of skill. I’m up in the air b/t starting as a Fighter w/ a Mage/Sorc Pawn or vice versa. Enjoyed the Mystic Knight in DD1… either way, I plan to play each vocation at some point.
Main pawn will definately be fighter. Shield launch for exploration, taunting so my squishy MA doesn't get trucked, and sword and shield asthetic greatness? Yes please sign me up!
Try to remember great fighters will not be about trying to burst the beasts down solo, but to taunt n tank keeping enemies near you and watching your stam, as you do periodic damage and shield. This allows the whole TEAM to keep the damage going more "consistently" for quicker kills, instead of all broken up running around taking damage. In the beginning, less so, mid to late game absolute punish if not, best to learn these skills early and be team focused. Climbing on these beasts and wrecking them as they fight and move is what separates this game from others and has to truly be experienced during a play through.
@@Gaming_AnalyticThx, but no. Did play DD1 a bit tho, and what I mentioned above will still be core mechanics, in fact I think this one mid to late game enemies are going to require far more team effort than DD1, we will see.
I’m so conflicted, for first playthrough I like to dedicate to a specific play style, later playthrough being where I explore vocations and min-max stats. Idk if I want to go full unga bunga warrior, or dive into mystic spearhand and cosplay darth maul
I normally do exactly that... Play the a character that feels the most fun to me first time around, and then do another couple of partial playthroughs experimenting with other classes i wouldt normally naturally gravitate to
First playthrough is Fighter for me. Will probably level Warrior too if those augments will give me more offensive power for my Fighter when I switch back to it.
Do You know if game let us play different kinds of shields (like in Dark Souls games)? I mean light, medium and very heavy shields? Or any shield has the same weight?
Cheers Franco... The Warrior looks so badass, and from my research seems to have been nearly completely redesigned from DD1. Looking forward to see how it plays!
Hello I got PS5 id like this game for free 😅 I want to try the mage or fighter since I've never played the game before I'll probably stick to fighter cause I'm used to games like Elden Ring already. 😊
True but it is still annoying that his only defence option is exodus slash. Act of vengeance and other moves are good but against bosses you can still get staggered even with the buffs

Thanks mate, and doing the research really help me also think about what and how to approach these builds ;p
So glad I found this channel. Your videos are always clear, interesting, and free of bias or speculation
Appreciate that Justin. Try and keep it real, no BS :p
Warrior: I protec with attac, but most importantly... I look like a snac.
Not much of a Fighter guy since I like Bows and Arrows too much. But in this game I will definitely play every vocation the game throws at me.
Very useful! Great to get this detailed info ahead of release! :)
Much Appreciated Thelca
fighter main here.
Super happy i found this channel. I hope to see a lot more DD2 content.
Appreciate that Mate, and stoked that your part of the NerdHerd :)
The most underrated class in DD1. Can't wait to see how much they've improved them for the sequel.
Def helpful - appreciate your detailed review of each of skill. I’m up in the air b/t starting as a Fighter w/ a Mage/Sorc Pawn or vice versa. Enjoyed the Mystic Knight in DD1… either way, I plan to play each vocation at some point.
All good mate! It's a really difficult choose. There are many viable options, and yes... Ill have to give all of the Vocations a spin also :p
Lmaoooo tusk toss is gonna be hilaruous near cliffs 💀
Main pawn will definately be fighter. Shield launch for exploration, taunting so my squishy MA doesn't get trucked, and sword and shield asthetic greatness? Yes please sign me up!
Lol!
2024 has got me so hyped for gaming, can't wait to dive into a 200 hour first playthrough
There's allot to get excited about... 2023 was an epic year for gaming. Looks like 2024 is setting up to be another banger.

Spoken like a true vet!

0:50 I call that move: EEEYAH!
Lol... :p
Im so hyped for this,im archer class fan but this time i think i'll consider to play fighter first
Im the other way around. I've never played a Archer... But will give it a go, looks pretty good from what I've seen.

Ready for the challenge that this game will bring.
Fighter as my main, pawn is a mage. May change the vocation later on.
One of the vocations I'm considering to play
First playthrough is Fighter for me. Will probably level Warrior too if those augments will give me more offensive power for my Fighter when I switch back to it.
No magic in the mix?
@@Gaming_Analytic Might dabble. But 2nd playthrough will be magic playthrough.
Can’t decide on a tank / healer pawn but I hope I can train my pawn to use springboard more consistently this time!
Looks amazing, will start with a fighter
yay someone who dig really deep into the hidden infos of game
cheers :D
Hey Should, how have you been? DD2 looks to be massive, cant wait to sink my teeth into it.
@@Gaming_Analyticnever been better since dd2 become one month away its absolutely gonna be a game to remember
I truly hope so... All things considered certainly seems to be heading that way!
i looooove fighter in the first game, excited to try it out again
I wonder what you will see in the hybrid vocations. Can't wait
I've already had a look through... And its very interesting to say the least. :)
awesome content. can't wait !!!
Thanks Ryan... Mage will be up next. Hope there's some good info in there for you too.
Maybe i will pick Fighter for my first playthrough, seems a solid option to familiarize with Dragon's Dogma mechanics.
And you can always swap out Vocations... so you don't need to feel locked in.
That's great! thank you for letting me know.@@Gaming_Analytic
Was just thinking, it would be cool to have dlc to go to somewhere snowy.
Do You know if game let us play different kinds of shields (like in Dark Souls games)? I mean light, medium and very heavy shields? Or any shield has the same weight?
Not 100% on that ;(
Looking forward to playing DD2
You and me both Darren!!!
Fighter looks great in DD2
Fighter main with Warrior main pawn 💪🏾 we beating ass
Hey my heres the comment. When r u announcing the winners ? Ty for the video very helpful
All good mate. Winners announced on the 20th.
Can’t wait to try fighter
That makes two of us brother!
This will be my Character, embrace the Bonk!
Hulk smash... or Bam-Bam from the Flinstones ;)
The Fighter will be a good pawn to have :-) or even a Trickster, wonder if the pawn system can play the trickster good?
Still wondering which vocation I should choose but Mystic Spearhand got my attention.
Looks crazy... Hopefully the skill ceiling in the M.Spearhand is not too high, otherwise Ill be struggling with these sausage fingers.
Sniping for that win! In any case can't wait, just one more month to go! Still hoping monk will be in the game!
Hope those helped... :)
Can't wait for this game.
Almost time... First proper, potential GOTY contender. Excited.
Great info - thanks
Most likely going to start fighter and then become super Warrior with BIG Sword 🤓
Cheers Franco... The Warrior looks so badass, and from my research seems to have been nearly completely redesigned from DD1. Looking forward to see how it plays!
Toss foes into the air, another fun skill.
Likely I will play as a fighter or warfarer.
Not a fighter but regardless still
Pretty cool
I'm' so hiped 😮
That makes a 'couple' of us :)
Fighter no shield ftw!
Sword and board... Without the board :)
If there is a parry then there is a goal for me, bring it on dd2 i'm waiting
Counter and kill... So satisfying
I'm running fighter till I cant get to that wayfarer vocation.
Any magick in the mix... Or leaving that to your pawns?
Left it to my pawn in the original but it looks really interesting in this one that i might have to.@@Gaming_Analytic
29 days, my dudes
Love fighter
Hello I got PS5 id like this game for free 😅 I want to try the mage or fighter since I've never played the game before I'll probably stick to fighter cause I'm used to games like Elden Ring already. 😊
If you win, we'll make a plan to get a PS5 copy to you. No worries!!!
Why can fighter block, parry, dodge and have 2 i-frame moves while warrior has only one. Why can't I parry with a greatsword lol
It does make the classes feel somewhat different to play, at a cost (as you've pointed out). It does feel a bit unintuitive...
I guess it's compensated with higher physical damage. And warrior even in dd1 was designed to take and withstand damage, not avoid them.
True but it is still annoying that his only defence option is exodus slash. Act of vengeance and other moves are good but against bosses you can still get staggered even with the buffs
Warrior got several counters this time around
Not very good at remembering to block…so not likely to play.
5:10 is it like full counter then
