2 year, body off frame, rotisserie restoration. Cosmetics and mechanicals were restored. We just acquired a 3 car collection from the estate of a well respected local car collector. He owned a chrome plating business, so you know the trim on this car sparkles!
EXTERIOR: Outstanding fit and finish. All the body gaps are probably better than new. The body is laser straight from every angle. There's no rust, no damage. It has optional fender skirts. The Wimbledon white paint is like white glass. Every piece of chrome is restored, every piece of stainless is straightened and polished to look new. It has optional dual mirrors and rocker trim. The glass has been all been replaced and has a soft factory tint. Door jambs are painted, weather strips are replaced, latches restored, sill plates are new. White convertible top was replaced, the top frame was restored, weatherstrips replaced. The pump and lines were replaced. It is the original style wire hubcaps with spinners on radial tires.
INTERIOR: The XL comes with bucket seats and a console. This interior was entirely removed and restored to the down to the smallest detail. They lined ot with sound deadener. New red carpet and matching embroidered floormats and red seatbelts on the floor. The seats were rebuilt, have new cushions and upholstery. The upholstery fits tight as a drum and has the chrome piping. Even the seat chrome was replated, seat backs were painted and the brushed stainless was restored. The console is restored like new. The side panels are new, all the chrome and brushed stainless is restored. It has power windows. The dash area is meticulously restored. New padded dash, every knob, bezel, lense is like new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely restored, not just detailed to look pretty but it is rebuilt to function too. According to the owner all the mechanicals were rebuilt. The 390-300 hp motor has been completely remachined. It does have an upgraded Edelbrock intake painted black with an Edelbrock carb hiding under that big air cleaner. It's also dressed up with a set of finned aluminum valve covers. It has the correct hose clamps, Autolite battery topper and factory power steering and power brakes. The metal surfaces are painted real high gloss finishes. Bottom of the hood is gloss white with hood insulation, the latches are detailed.

in 1969 my Mom out ran the police in her '64 Galaxie 500 convertible one night coming home from go-go dancing in downtown Buffalo !!! ... two years later, when I got to drive it at 16 , I found it to be the fastest car that I've ever driven , even faster than my '78 Z-28 !!! ... this '64 Ford Galaxie 500XL conv. in Wimbledon White is a perfect example and worth every penny at just under $56K !!!
Outstanding! I think it would look MUCH better without the incorrect fender skirts but I know some people actually like them!
Absolutely gorgeous
As I've said regarding so many of these Volo cars, another one that appears to be absolute perfection, right down the the last detail! So this is #3 of the 3-car estate recently acquired? What an eye for perfection this gentleman had for detail! One of Ford's outstanding models, and how fitting that it would end up in the Volo inventory. This car needs absolutely nothing!!! Congrats on these 3 awesome cars. I wish I could have known the gentleman, just to personally commend him on these cars.I know this car is going to go to someone who truly appreciates it, and my heartfelt congrats to them!
Yep, all 3 should be up. It would be the 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air(V19160), 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL(V19159) & 1966 Ford Thunderbird(V19158).

Only fault is see besides the ragtop are those horrendous fender skirts. I've never been a fan of skirts, convertibles, and sun roofs, and unfortunately this car has 2 of those, but having said that, this car is fantastic. That's something I can't deny. Great video as usual Jay. 👌🏼
Hi jay , i visited your museum yesterday, it is Amazing museum, and on the top of that you are nice family, God bless you, your video remind me with my 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door taxi cab unfortunately it is gone in accident in 1990 ( in Iraq) . i like the Ford with 6 cylinder straight

Hi Jay. Well the final part of the trilogy ! This man was a perfectionist . In an ideal world (if we ever have one again !) these should be in the Petersen Museum.( or may be the Volo Museum!) ? The Ford galaxy is one of the most beautiful rocket car what's missing is the rocket lights on top the back fender . my friend has one with the rocket lights

Yeah...here I'm 35 and I had Magnaflows installed in a 2-1/2" dual exhaust H-pipe system off of shorty headers on my '67 Galaxie 390...the tone is phenomenal - hardly there when cruising with the top down but when you mash it...she roars in a beautiful deep growl

What a beautiful car? The only thing that looks terrible as a muffler sticking out the back they should be way over underneath the tail lights with two mufflers on each side I'm sure the car is probably really loud why do they do that to a luxury car put stupid glass packs on them I don't know I don't want my luxury car sounding like a hot rod why do they do that I don't know that would be the first thing I do is have the exhaust replaced correctly. So think about that if you're wanting to buy this car they've already going to cost you $5or600 for a new exhaust
