After watching you and your wonderful, toneful and tuneful playing style, I decided to buy the AER 60/4 today for my Eastman T386 and Eastman AR372. You are very inspiring. Great video.
Lovely playing thanks for posting it's very informative. one question, is the amp better going through a PA system or for small venues is it better as a stand alone? I have a version 4 and have had mixed results going through a PA, sound engineers don't always know how to get a good sound from it.
@@gustavlundgren Thanks, I've never used, it as stand alone but will give it a go from now on. It should be loud enough for small venues, do you think?
Gustav, thank you for what I think is the best demo of this amp on TH-cam. From your experience, this being such a high fidelity amp, would it work with a slightly (or more heavy even) overdriven sound coming into it? I play a combination of jazz and blues, and sometimes I like to use a pedal like the Boss Blues driver in front of the amp. Thanks in advance for your help!
@@gustavlundgren That’s excatly my worry. I have an Ibanez hollowbody and I know it will sound great through this amp clean, but having an overdriven input I am not sure about. Guess we’ll have to find out the hard/expensive way :)))
Beautiful tone, very descriptive review, thanks for uploading this video. May I know how you record it? What audio interface do you use? Logic pro or prootool.???
Thank you for the demo! I really like your sound. Do you think this amp would be suitable for solid body electric guitars as well? I have a Yamaha Revstar (it's got two humbuckers) and I'm looking for a clean tone. This seems like a nice practice amp + gigging / professional amp.
Thank you for the comparison been searching for it for months ! Think i noticed a difference in the sound the AER version 4 seems somewhat brighter, maybe there was more treble knob or something anyway really interesting. Do you know if you if an overdrive on my acoustic through magnetic microphone Will damage the AER ? Seems there is plenty of harmonics information already and that an overdrive can sound good. Any thoughts ? Thank you
Amazing review!!! Have you tried a Henriksen (maybe the Forte) to compare the cleans with this AER? I would love to know your experience with these amps and if some of these stand out for better clean sound. Thanks and keep the good content!!!
I have tried one Henriksen. It was quite ok. The AER however is really built for acoustic guitars with piezo or condensers. And as you can hear in this video it sounds great even for electric guitars.
@@JonnyAllenMusic AC33 is a great amp, but not really powerful enough for real gig situations. I tried one on a few gigs and really struggled to get enough volume.
Hi Gustav: Thank you for the very nice demo! I have the same amp and a 335 plugged in directly. I'm having a hard time to replicate the soft/mellow tone you manage to produce. Can you share the amp/guitar settings you used when you did the demo? Matter of fact, your demo played a role when I decided to go for the AER Compact 60/4 :) Many thanks in advance!
@@gustavlundgren Yeah, I saw and couldn't believe it ;) My Ibanez As200 plugged in with the same settings sounds very different, a lot brighter, compared to your 335. There are probably several factors here. The amp version I have has the solid oak wood casing, which might account for some of the extra brightness... Thanks for your quick reply! I'll keep chasing your tone.
@@jasper_north AER Compact 60/4. Best acoustic amp I’ve ever played through. The Blackstar Sonnet 120 is also pretty amazing and 1/3 the price of the AER. But if you have the budget, get the AER.

I just got one of these for my acoustic, I might even have to learn jazz after watching this!!!
Lovely Playing. Well done. Also thinking of buying the AER 60/4
That's some great playing and sound!
Amazing playing man!

always loved the sound of those amps
I love your music and your tone Gustav
i want know your usual amp eq setting and
guitar volume knob and tone knob setting
thank you!
Thanks! EQ depending on amp, but usually quite 12 a clock. Volume max! Tone always max or bypassed.
@@gustavlundgren thank you for answer!!
my amp is compact 60
you mean treble/middle/bass all 12 clock?
❤

Logic through my motu track 16
Nice touch
Hello, great sound what are your settings on the amp and guitar?
Thank you

Nice sound Gustav! I am looking for an amp to use with a big band. Do you think a 60W amp will do the job? A bb makes a lot of noise .... 😉
Yes! You can go super loud with this one
Sound mesmerizing likes Tony Mottola.
Hi, what strings do you have on your 335? Mine does not get this nice round jazz tone. Are they very thick flat wounds? Awesome playing by the way.
I use the Thomastik swing 0.12

I think they sound pretty much the same. The nobs where exactly the same. You can definitely use overdrive. I do it all the time!

It’s an acoustic amp? Right? U simply plugging electric guitar? Thnxx brother ❤
Don't they have boomy bass? (too much bass). I'm using Gibson L-5, and I have the aer compact but mine have much bass I don't know why...
It sounds a tad boomy to me. I'm sure I read that the bass is pretty massive.

Hi Gustav, awesome demo thanks! What mic are using on the amp? Do you use that same mic in a live setting?
This is a sennheiser e609 or 906. Those could definitely be used live. Cheap and great microphones.
did you plug the guitar straight in or are there any mods in the signal chain? thx for the review!
Straight
@@gustavlundgren beautiful sound💚🙏

What do you think about the aer compact 60 can it handle a jazz quartet with drumer, bass, horn and guitar?
Definitely
