  • Ronnie Scott's is London's premier jazz venue. It's in Soho which is a really buzzy area of the city, especially after dark. If you like jazz this is the place to come. Inside it's all musical impresarios on the wall and red leather seats which gives it a really intimate atmosphere. You can even sit right below the stage. The club was opened in 1959 by two musicians, today it hosts a range world class jazz musicians every night.

all about the money now, poor acoustic's since they moved the bar; musician's playing on the long wall. very disappointed, wont go again!

@@gil-evens Jazz Cafe, 606, Vortex, Pizza Express, 100 Club & even Dalstons. All feel like clubs. Pity the way Ronnie Scott's has gone; saw so many greats there.

Its far too expensive tbh. Even the most basic gigs are over £40 a ticket. Ridiculous.

@@lasakau272 a lot of people just go to jazz clubs to pose and virtue signal to themselves they have taste but don't deeply care about the music. They go for one set then dip. Also, there's a good way to tell apart the true music lovers from the posers. The posers never come alone and look very typical while the music lovers can come alone, stay for every single sets, react to tasteful bits of music by shaking their head or making noise and don't overdress. If you see an old dude in shorts and sandals with an eccentric haircut, walk to that guy and just say "good stuff tonight", this will jumpstart a 30 minute convo about jazz, music and life

@@gil-evens my last night at Ronnie's was full of posers; talking all the way through reading menu's, ordering food etc loudly. I wasn't allowed to stand or sit at the bar; not a chilled place, but a disgrace to the artist's. Never again!
