- The Tenants returns as we take a look at the free trial version, which offers us a lot more content than the demo we played several months back. We amass a bit of money and quickly move to get our own apartment set up which we can then rent out to our very first tenant! They do unfortunately run into some issues early on but we're quick to respond to their pleas for help.
Of course there is work to be done before then, some of which we skip through quite quickly. We renovate several rooms with tasteful decorations and furnishings and we also take on a 'babysitting' job whereby we look after an apartment for another landlord whilst they're away!
We also take on an Elite Contract where we have to design a very fancy sailing/pirate themed room on a boat! There are barrels and telescopes and compasses and even treasure maps.
But with only one property to our name, we set out looking for more money to make sure we can expand our property portfolio.

Decide which tenants you want to make business with. React to various situations... you never know what's gonna happen: annoyed neighbours, problematic tenants, police involved? Gotta stay alert!
Design your apartments and give them a polished look. Get rid of that old paint and buy some new furniture or just change the floors. Do not overdo it though! The better it looks, the more money you make!
Invest wisely to achieve maximum profit. Keep an eye out for the best bargain, and strike when you see an opportunity. Are you into risky deals, or you just want to play it safe? The choice is yours!
Become a landlord and get involved in real-estate. You are the one in the driver's seat. Stay calm, focused and ready to make your business rise all the way to the top!

I watched this and then went to sleep and was haunted by that toilet in the first house with no kind of privacy barrier...
It was a house for people who are very, very close friends...
I once tried the game (cracked version) for just tryouts but found myself stressed out and dropped it, mainly due to the freaking horrid tutorial area.
Like indeed, a shower and toilet space with no privacy and in my playthrough, it needed a carpet...A bathroom area with a carpet, why?! Had trouble fitting the heater and fuse back to somewhere sensible as well, it was just horrid and such a haunting experience.
I can't get past the tutorial because of all the nonsense going on. I am not an architect but I can tell that such things are just out of whack.
On second thought, seems like the other areas also have some bothersome layouts like the starting apartment...urk, the game looks promising but I just can't ignore some of the strange quirks or so.

I stand corrected, I just finished the video and you can move around the walls, nice. It was just that one tutorial trailer that was horrid.

That is a very, very valid point. Our one tenant is actually a bit of a geek, maybe we should need to give her a cupboard too!
The cars can find their way around the streets... this game is officially more complete than most triple A titles.
They must have spent a lot of time on the traffic management!

I watched @GrillMastah play this earlier and went right to steam and got it. My 1st tenant got roaches 3 times in 20 mins, poor Uncle must be ready to mutate with the amount of bug spray I made him squoosh everywhere in that flat! Then her pipes burst whilst Uncle was cleaning somewhere else.......I don't know what she was up to, all she does is sit on the bed playing vroom vroom games. So when her contract was up for re-negotiation I put her rent right up. That'll teach her. Now I'm taking a break because it's way too short and I'll have to wait till the full EA release to play longer each time, and I can watch you do way better than I did lol.

You can check out a similar game to House Flipper. Cafe Owner Simulator allows you to manage a restaurant / cafe. They just announced on Steam - looks cool;)

Purple washrooms are difficult to pull off, good taste or bad.
Takes careful consideration and a delicate touch to appeal to general sensibilities,
But,
As im sure youre well aware,
General sensibilities are neither necessary nor necessarily sensible
It is sort of unfortunate that you can only store things when in Clean up mode and not also when in renovate mode ...
but I suppose it makes sense ... sort of ... heh
I've been waiting for this game for awhile! House flippers has had no new content for awhile now. Definitely prefer this to the sims.
I think there is a new update for House Flipper on the way, something about rescuing pets.
@@TheGeekCupboard Actually - there is one coming in between (in May). Look up House Flipper Luxury. Mansions and indoor pools!

Before you started the boat job you had $102. Upon completion of the job, for some reason you ended up with 15k, even though the payout was supposed to be around 5k + 850 bonus. Soon after it shows the 15k, you're then giving another 5k which I'm assuming was the bonus? Super confusing when I was watching.. Do you suppose the random 15k right after exiting build mode was rent money from your other tenant?

broooo I offered my first tenant 800 thinking it was a reasonable price, when I got a job getting tenants for another apartment (did the same thing) I failed big time. I was wondering I kept getting negatives fml.
My boi. Its their money. Set everything up, check your budget at the end, and upgrade. You could have gotten the expensive wine rack and grandfather clock on the boat. Im still happy you got 5 stars, but always upgrade at the end with leftover budget. It goes a loooooong way. Seeing you complete with thousands left is painful
Hmmmm .... if this game gets most of the features of House Flipper, then I can see it replacing that other game for the most part ....as you said, House Flopper with a sims feel ....
