Hey did anyone else hear how much happier daggerwin was making this vlog for us I was glad he is not stressed out trying to please everyone with survival role play he needs a break so let him take his time to make it better for us all cheers
Indeed! It's hard to create engaging content and to be creative on demand is more or less impossible. From a viewer/fan perspective it's better for him to take a break and deliver great content later on than forcing out content on a fixed schedule like machine! Keep up the phenomenal work Dag! :D
For a field this small, I'd recommend doing potatoes! The mods for themnare pretty small and cheap, doesn't require a lot of horsepower and after digging them up, you can scoop them up by shovel!
Or maybe he can buy "krukowiak" from modhub to pickup potatoes

Yea potatoes is a good idea use the old john Deere harvester. Don’t think you can get any more vintage then that
For a more powerful tractor, either go with the ferguson or another old cabless one, there are several upwards of 50 odd horsepower I belive
Creative twist here Daggerwin, looking forward to seeing how the series turns out. And wishing you a creative boost on the survival roleplay plot writing. Can't be easy keeping the story fresh and entertaining. But somehow you make it work 😎👍

Please make this permanent!! Coming from Eastern Europe with grandparents who worked in agriculture this series hits close to home! Gorgeous map and great “story” from you would make this epic to watch!

If I might make a suggestion, "work rpm" mod? Doesn't really change anything, just makes the engine rev up realistically when it's doing something like tipping the dumper, or running the PTO, etc. Every bit of added realism right?.
I agree. As simple as it is its always a must for me.
In Germany we call this Tractor "Geräteträger", which means equipment carrier. Its a multi functional tractor. Instead of the Dumper you can mount a seeder a cultivator or a front loader. There is a Fendt GT in the modhub where you can change these equipments.

I’m not usually one to comment, but I think this series is looking absolutely great. With Survival Challenge there has always been that “frenzy” to grow as fast as possible. Oh, I know it wasn’t fast or frenzied by “speed farming” standards. but still...this seems so relaxed in contrast that I think you have a winner.
Oh, and also, that tractor is completely made of Win. I think it was the sounds that really nailed it for me - the metal squeal of the brakes was perfect.
This is almost like the Absolute History series with the three guys showing how people survived throughout historic periods. Nice!
I agree. Starting from scratch with 0 money is interesting and satisfying. The big machinery has its appeal, but working from the very bottom up to more expensive equipment is great. I enjoy your videos.

I’ve recently started a survival “start from scratch” just today!! They’re pretty fun and gives you something to work for versus buying everything or essentially starting with everything right off the bat. 👍🏻 great content as always bud!!
Love this. Too bad there wasn’t vintage mods like hand cast seeding or scythe. More hand work. Or old horse drawn implements would be cool. Thanks for the videos daggerwin.
I dont know about the power requirements needed but on modhub there is the AGROZET SA2-074 by Ostry, Slyclif which is a vintage potato planter it is 1100 quid which isnt to much, it is vintage, at least i would say it is, and then there is the vintage potato harvester you used in survival roleplay, i dont know how much that costs or how much power it needs but if you could use them to plant and harvest potatoes then that would be a cheaper set up than cereal crops, and you can use the shovel to pick them up and put in the dumper, and then you can use a plow from the ferguson pack by North Modding Company, the single farrow is 100 quid and that dumper should power it, the 2 farrow one is 170 quid if the dumper will power it, and you will need to plow the ground after you have harvested potatoes to make the ground as productive as possible.

The Eicher can't actually handle the Hassia FS, I recommend the Lizard S043/2 from modhub because it doesn't need as much hp as it says. For a cultivator, the Eicher AG300 works well, 3 meters and the G220 has no complaints when using it, and it only costs 300.
And for the loading wagon, the one from the Alice Chalmers ride on mower is a good choice as you said, it only is in the 3 digit area and can carry 8000l if I remember correctly, tho I'm sure it's not that much.

Oh and, I think the G220 is Simple Ic compatabil, it's on git hub, and quite a few tractor's use that for Interactive control, the newest version even allows for the tractor to be operated from first person.
As for a combine, there is a trailed Fahr one on FBM, tho it does need around 60 hp or so
When in first person view driving the tractor, I keep thinking "why is he backing up everywhere?"

Love this series already. Love playing FS with vintage farming equipment. So can I recommend the Pöttinger LW 15. It’s a nice older and very cheap loading wagon. Keep up the good work. 👍

I have the same mower in real life. Here In Slovenia every one has one of these becouse it's from Itali. It's an indestructable machine.

There is a lizard hay trail that hooks to the three point of the tractor and you just back up to the grass and it loads it’s in loading wagons
Idea for survival roleplay:
The old owner of your farm appears out of no where, they are homeless. You find them laying down in your farm.
They have big delts and loans to payoff. And would than create a lot of probelms, with the police.
I hope you like this idea. I would love to see survival roleplay come back.

Maybe you could ask the neighbours you they want their lawn cut and could earn some more money that way as well
Wow Dagger. This series will be very interesting and great (as always). Its good to see few versions of Survival series on your channel- Survival challenge, and now this Vintage survival. Survival challenge started with logs, and Vintage Survival with grass. Keep up good work Dagger. ;)
where do you get this game
This is exactly what I expect from you daggerwin. Quality content. And I recommend the farming classics mod on mod hub it has lots of realistic vintage equipment and tractors.

I watched your survival series and was drawn to buy FS2019, then was dissapointed the actual game wasn't as satisfying at the start due to the vast money and equipment.
So i went off to the mods and I'm going to try it your way 😁
How do you set your funds?
I have a way to help with that which requires no mods. Go to files - Downloads and you should see a file called 'my games' click it and fs19 should be there. Click that, then click whatever savegame you want to set your funds to (for instance if i had a savegame 1 active with a farm like his i'd click that) so click whatever savegame you have active and then click the file 'farms' make sure to open it in notepad. after that at the top it should present your money. This will only work if you have saved the game you were on then quit it. Once you see the money set it to whichever amount you want. then click file and click 'save' not save as. i usually do this a few times just to be safe. then restart fs19 and there you go! Bear in mind that it will not show your amount you set it to on the so called 'thumbnail' of the savegame, do not worry. Hope this helped and sorry im a bit late.

Gonna be honest, I initially thought the shoveling was gonna take much longer than it did. Glad the mod author that made it went with a AOE route of pickup with it which helps greatly with the realism without being as tedious as it would be IRL.
Do contracts. It's not cheating and it will bring in money to started.
That would probably break the vintage theme

Hey Dagwin. I have been a fan for a long time and enjoy several of your series. I have to say, this latest idea has a tonne of potential, quite looking forward to seeing where you take it. I wonder if there are enough truly vintage mods to make a go of it long term. If you are including equipment from the 70s and 80s, that small John Deere setup you used briefly in survival roleplay would seem perfect for initial small scale startup. I think it would be purer sticking to older kit wherever possible though. As others have mentioned, cutting grass for neighbours may be a decent option. Same as the odd tree felling job if you grab an axe. You do seem much happier in this first vid compared to others. Take whatever break you need from survival roleplay. When you enjoy what you are doing, it really does come through, and in my opinion, is more enjoyable to watch. Love the new series (this, and the new ETS series are my current favorites, then the challenge series, and then the roleplay). Keep the fantastic content coming!
This is a amazing my one thing is that I would like to see to limit your self to 1960's and earlier equipment if that's not possible I would at least like to see less modern equipment being used as we see a lot of the same types of equipment thru your different series

Excellent start, Daggerwin, it's amazing how much of a difference it makes doing something as simple as just cutting the front lawn can make! Great series idea, map and starting tractor too! It's like you literally read my mind as, after watching your Survival Challenge, I've been thinking of doing a play through myself along this sort of line using exactly that tractor and it's matching cultivator!

Edit: If you don't have the money for the seed drill right away you COULD get the hand tools mod and plant a field entirely BY HAND! Never seen anyone do that before.

I'm a big classic tractor guy so I like it actually. I never seen someone do a full vintage farm. And I think in the next farming simulator we should have a dlc with actual vintage tractors.
Literally shoveling grass this is the most brutal fs survival I've seen so far
I think I actually like this better than challenge because it doesn’t look as desolate. It’s nice to have the feeling that other people live here. And the idea of vintage is pleasing to me. The only thing the map needs is a name that sounds like a farm.

If you want a cheap loading wagon... Horal MV1-052... Its rusty but cost almost nothing...
Maybe you can use a cheap tedder and make hay...
And FAHR M66T. Its a trailed harvester, cheap for a harvester. Fairly cheap...

Looking forward to the series, Where I live in Rural Galicia, Spain those mowers are still used today, Bertolini is one of the makes and almost all of them have a single cylinder Lombardini diesel engine that is started with a rope and pulley. Most have a small trailer to bring the grass home. Originally they were walk behind mowers but someone invented a seat that was hooked on to the back to make it a ride on. I think the tractor has the same engine, I have a small articulated tractor an Ebro A30L which has a 2 cylinder Lombardini engine.

I know this is an old video, but I am sure the neighbours are impressed with your mowing job and would love you to mow theirs for them too, they could hardly complain if you took the cuttings as payment!
hi . great vid and idea . i never have done this hard , because there is always worn out machines in the country side , think all the hedge rows , with gear parked in them .
i have one idea , and that is , back in the 80s we used to share the work load with next door .
so you could put the crop in the ground for your self and next door , and then next door does your harvest with his harvest
Not sure, if it will help you, but just to give you some ideas for survival roleplay... :)
-build a chicken coop, you can have fresh eggs for yourself and maybe sell/give the rest to somebody... Peter? Care home?
-expand animals - like, your sheep...they are just there, in the background...maybe bring them up a bit more, start breeding them for lambs (meat), check on them more often, rotate them in different fields and have some place with sheds to bring them in for winter, vett/inseminator visits
-go green - precision farming DLC, going to lab with samples by yourself, not just "send them", fertilize with oilseed radish and manure (shame that sheep don't produce manure in FS, in real life, they do, a lot)
-straw - produce (and sell) straw pellets, they are great for heating, maybe bales/loose straw - there are houses being built from compressed straw, great insulation and suprisingly not flammable
-new part time job -maybe local forestry is expanding, fields of poplars to harvest (would be nice to see biobaler again), plant new trees/forest, felling trees or maybe they need some hay, beets, potatoes, grain to feed wildlife in winter
-restoration projects, old mower, tractor, trailer,... and sell for profit or keep them, it is up to you
-more machines breakdowns (and their repair?), like rusted pistons on trailer, faulty/weared bearings on 3 point, snapped PTO, hydraulic hose break, leaking oil,...
-taxes - oh boy, do I need to say more? nobody likes them, but they have to be paid, every year - which reminds me, that you havent, ever...can be a great tool to remove quite a chunk of money, as a overdue payment, loose a farm or just from now on that you have to pay every year a certain amount
-NEW CHARACTER, I think, it is needed...maybe someone like you? small farmer with not so much machines, so you could help each other out during busy months, like harvest?
Thats all I can think of for now, looking forward to the series return, love it :)
I have a feeling this is going to be my new favorite series.
If you run the map as multiplayer, but be the only one connected, you can give those placeable buildings to a second account/farm and not have them affect your bank balance with their maintenance costs/incomes.
We need the modders out there to make more vintage machines!! The current choices are few and far between.

And over time maybe you two could form a relationship which could end up making you Peter's son in law and open up huge potentials with your storyline if it then became a family farming kinda thing?

I love doing these survival series. Usually I start with a pickup and a chainsaw and go from there. I never really liked the idea of manually scooping grass but don't mind the chopping and loading of logs..
Not sure what era youre playing in but would be cool if there was a hatchet or handsaw to start off with for a 'vintage' series.
@itsgeeze I use easy development tools mod to reduce the money to £36k and then purchase the pickup and chainsaw. The money will then be at £0 and you can start the survival mode.

That tractors has to be the cutest thing ive ever seen in any farmsim game, i want it in real life, imagine doing your shopping in this....love it
this may be asking a bit much but wouldn't it be nice if mod sites could list their mods in age groups...70's, 80's etc...would make life a lot easier for us :)

Watching this from the start and hoping I’ll find it a relaxing watch.
A few suggestions
Pretend this is set in the 1950s or whatever era that tractor was from. If you can't find enough equipment in FS from that era, pretend its no later than the 70s. Then the series itself would be vintage, but the machines could be newish for that period.
Turn off traffic. The age of those vehicles are too new for the period.
The mower you have is close enough to fit that time period. There would be some things out of place, like the stuff in the picture in the dealership window, but that's not a big deal.
Maybe get some chickens to supplement your income. 'Repair' that small shed and make it a chicken coop.
For the love of god, don't buy or use a BGA! That always turns into a money cheat.

Great series dagwin, for something to pick up the grass you could use either the “back manure fork” or the “kverneland hayfork” both of which you can find on the modhub. They attach to the 3-point and help with picking up the grass, they aren’t that expensive either
To be honest this is better than survival roleplay,for me atleast,and yeah comp multiplayer is awesome too...
Loving the series all ready . Great start . The map seems like it will be well suited for the play with up grades in buildings available , beautiful country side etc . Hay Daggerwin you could even start with a mowing contract with the city or county roads , collect the grass and sell it and eventually build a silage pit as well as bailing and making silage bails and hay for animals . Nice start .
I know you can't buy new vintage equipment but if you had the used vehicle mod you could have it as restored and nonrestored just to keep it real but reach goals a little faster, love the idea of this series btw.
wow what a map! if I had fs19 I wold get that asap, well found!! Can't weight till the next episode, as that was a lovely comenty style mix of game play and role play in my opinion. TBH I wold like this along side survival role play. Keep up the fantastic work and stay safe!!

Go for the vintage potato equipment to start... much easier to obtain and more realistic that someone would have a 1/4 acre of potatoes ran with old equipment, rather than 1/4 acre of soybeans with a seeder and harvester etc...
Would love some vintage machines involving horses somehow like horse drawn ploughs etc! Be really fitting with this series
