      Stu actually I love boats, I have a small engineering workshop just south of Bundaberg and I get to do a lot of aluminium welding on tinnys Mainly because the “captains” crash into Australia on a fairly regular basis. The bad news is (1) nothing on a boat is a straight line and(2) The tungsten termites (otherwise known as electrolysis) makes them a bugger to repair.😺👍

    Nice shoreline and ocean views. Careful on melting lead. Don't want to breath the fumes and make sure no moisture around to drip into the melting pot. I have melted bullets and fishing baits but never happened to me. Had a friend had a drop of sweat drip off his nose and it fell into his molten lead and almost emptied the pot from exploding steam. Luckily none of the lead landed on him. Video stabilization on the GoPro makes for great "no shake" video.

    arrived safely and with a beach haul of goodies, whats not to like, lol just a matter of interest was the rifle casing British 303 ? thinking about your comment on reversing ( going astern ) in the Not so UK we use fishtails or small keels fitted to the rudder and it improves water grip and directional improvement, might help.

    • @DangarMarine
      @DangarMarine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, it looked about that size to me. I'll clean it up a bit more and see if I can tell. Small keels may help. So will more practice. ;) Living on the swing mooring at home I don't do a lot of reversing so I'm sure I'll get better at anticipating the transverse thurst. A reverse camera would go a long way too as visibility astern is poor. I can see why people dock from their flybridge.

      Brupeg is over 7 times bigger. The size difference is quite noticeable!

    Apologies if you've addressed this before: did you consider putting your tender on davits? I thought it might reduce drag and fuel consumption over such a long cruise. Hugely enjoying this trip in Renko, and it looks like you and Mrs Stu are too!

    Bundaberg Marine down at Burnet Heads is a good place to put the boat up for a look-see. I have helped a mate do his biannual inspection and found the team there to right on top of the jobs. If you wanted a quick turnaround they will really 'pull-the-finger-out".
