    Jeez, this is like a Quake deathmatch with Nieuports, Spads and Dreideckers. Friggin' awesome to watch. IL-2 is just goddamn' amazing. This is what I dreamed of playing Wings on my Amiga 500 back in the day.

    I remember playing a WW1 flight sim back in the day… like late 80s or so. One of the missions was taking on the red baron… I managed one kill, ever. The turn rate of the triplanes was just crazy. (I only got the kill by stalling almost immediately and getting lucky while the red baron flew into my gunfire.)

    I wasn’t looking at the screen so all I heard was Cap say something, something, “have a speedo.” I had to look back at the screen in terror about what I was about to see.

    LO was Ernst Üdet's wife or girlfriend's nickname. He was the second greatest Preußen ace with 62 Victories. & your reflector gunsight was just like the WWII & later electrically powered sights made by Oigee during The Great War.

    Okay first of all I love this content and will always love WW1 scrums.
    But of critique: the swarm mentality is bound to work beautifully until you all ram into each other and then get out numbered.
    Best to stack your formations. I know the German tactic best since... *ahem* better planes *cough cough*
    Three tiers: High Middle Low. Pilots cycle over the fighting area. The high fliers are the rescuers. They watch for anyone running and push enemies down in crowd control. Middle are mostly fighters and crowd control. Guys that are low have their targets and fight until they win/have to retreat and cycle back to high altitude.
    Pfaltz's are wonderful in the dive and work best at crowd control. Fokkers (VIIs and Dr1s) are brawlers if the pilots know what theyre doing. The Albatroses are for technical fliers. Early era fights they dominate. Later era fights theyre good for crowd control/fighting 2-Seaters.
    Allied planes are a mixed bag hence why I don't bother XD
    Enjoy the Kites with Lawnmower engines! Hopefully Ill have a chance to dominate the skies over you one day :D

    What means "Bristow"..??

    • @philipr.6090
      @philipr.6090 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bristol was the name of a British aircraft company. If I recall correctly, they made one or more models of aircraft used during WWI. Is that what you were asking about? Also, Bristol can be used as an adjective: For example, saying something is in "Bristol condition" means that it is in good order and has been well maintained.

    The first one you shot at have the United States roundel on its wings and tail not English. Red, blue white dot center. From outter inward of course. Brits are B,W,R, France R,W,B. Russia is the same as US only thinner R, & Blue is lighter hue. And the white dot is larger.

    I like playing in VR. Unfortunately these WW-1 planes are actually TOO maneuverable. They make me motion sick, so I actually don't play this game.
