    I think what's funny about the outrage is that a lot of the clips were old and there was no outrage at the time that they aired. So in essence it took a crowd outside their listenership to stir up the outrage then all the backlash started coming down on them and they should have just firmed the L rather than apologise coz now they've opened up a can of worms for their entire history to get critiqued. Coz again I don't listen to them that tough but I've never seen their content as some sort of transformative or informational content it's just two dudes and their friends having a laugh and chat reacting to twitter and all sorts. So I wouldn't have expected them to necessarily tackle sensitive topics in the way that I would critique others to. Coz what they did was definitely in poor taste but again it's one of those things you can just chalk and keep it pushing. Like when a comedians joke doesn't land they firm the L rather than tryna apologize for the jokes or try get into some deep thoughts about it. It would be shocking if they were in that lane to begin with. Like if for example that was Chuckie then I'd be like woah coz we know insightful and nuanced he is but for these dudes I think a lot of people getting angry at them never had them in that lane to begin with so they will be fine coz their core fans weren't pressed until the wider outrage. And unfortunately that happens these days the more viral content gets like Chuckie was referencing how clips will now start reaching different audiences so how those different audiences then react may differ from their original core fans. Coz that's funnily enough even why they went on tour in the first place to breach the US market

    Why when we talk about "THE CULTURE" do we link it to being Hood. If they aint part of the culture then all these women wouldnt be offended, plus most of the outrage is coming from the USA. Andrew Schulz is always making jokes like this when he's with Charlamagne the god and aint no1 trying to cancel him, people just cant wait to be offended. When i watch Sprays podcast for example that is for "THE CULTURE" all i see is a bunch of 40+ years olds still acting like they 17 re-living there days on the roads is that all our culture is about because some of the things we hold in high regard is kind of sad?

    • @marieellington7172
      @marieellington7172 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      I thunk it's more to do with anyone from black culture would not refer to other black people as "the blacks" watching shxtsngigs over the years it's clear they're not in tune with black culture if you would to ask them questions the average black person would know the answers to they wouldn't know the answers. As chuckie said here everyone's black experience is different but those 2 seem very out of touch with black people, black issues and black thoughts nothing to do with who's a road man and who's not as the masses they've offended are not likely road and these guys didn't actually say anything harsh about them other than don't call people the blacks

      Help me understand something please… why does something have to be apart of the ‘culture’ for anyone to support it

    • @marieellington7172
      @marieellington7172 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @moaliize I think first you need to address that they are in the wrong to refer to their own people as "the blacks" accountability is important. Yes there is a bad habit of tearing each other down but that's not what I see here. It's 2 men that have been supported and championed (hence their predominantly black following) that are now being held accountable for disingenuous apologies and disrespectfully referring to black people in a way.

      @@marieellington7172 I dont support the BLACKS comment but nobody has a issue when we are running around calling each other niggas bitches and hoes. My point is the whole black culture thing is BS because everything that gets idolised in our culture is slack behaviour but then we get outraged by this. Where is the outrage when these female artist are trying to turn our daughters into thots where is the outrage when young black dudes are celebrating murdering there own. The accountability should be why do you think that comedian has that negative steriotypeical view of are females in the 1st place, is it because there is a degree of truth?

    I don’t watch their podcast but when I watched a clip, straightaway I could see that they were weren’t for me, just by the way they speak and the things that they found funny.
    And I say this that as someone who grew up being told I sounded ‘white’ because I went to a predominately white school and lived in a white area lol. Yes I had white friends but never hung around with them outside school cos the things I was into which was bashment, hip hop and black films I couldn’t talk to them about. I became best friends with one black girl who lived round the corner from me and another at school who wasn’t even in any of my classes. Whenever we’d do nothing but bus joke. It’s like we saved it up for the week lol. Thank god for them l cos school would’ve been so dry otherwise.
    Anyway I say all this to say, as got older, I realised my ‘black experience’ was not the norm. I’ve always had black friends cos for me, I need that outlet, I need to talk and bust joke about black culture. Without that I would probably be in a ‘bubble’ that I think those guys are in.

    It's funny to me the morals in our culture. We allow some Madness until we dont and then we act holier than thou. We celebrate murderers and drilling people and never cancel that. Some of our favourite people in our culture have done heinous things that we wouldn't want to happen to us ...but we buy their music. The conversation we need to have is "what is culture, who's in this culture and what do we allow in the culture" and most importantly be consistent. Otherwise we're just going in circles

    I’m not even gonna lie I hear the point that them shits n gigs man made about Supacell. Not necessarily that show specifically, but when a particular demographic rant and rave about how good something is, I don’t really have high hopes for it. Power and BMF are examples of that… absolute terrible television but the same demographic in question seem to be enamoured. There’s a similar point to be made about how music is received by us in the UK as well. Artists have to present a certain way and have some sort of road image/sound for people to even take the slightest bit of interest. It’s mad weird still, it’s like taking pride in limiting your palate I don’t get it
