The WORST things to do when putting.

This video describes the worst 2 things you can do in putting.: over-acceleration is the is the leading cause of the yips and the common instruction to take a short backswing and accelerate through the ball is the lead culprit in this case. The other is taking the same backswing length for all putt distances and changing the force you apply to the putter to hit different distances.

Great demonstration and explanation on putting Mr. Dunigan! I like your recommendation of using tees to putt to. I do this routine and find that when I get on the course, the hole looks as big as a bushel basket! All very useful information Mr. Dunigan!

I can top the worst thing with what i did for years... Put the ball way forward in your stance to hit up on it and try to make an equal length back and through swing... It can't be done...plus the stroke is already accelerated and decelerated before it hits the ball..and the brain has so much time to explode all up in the hands. I think i did side tilt a little too...jeez. its a wonder i made ANYTHING!
