The Pennsylvania Game Commission conducted a prescribed fire, or prescribed burn, at the North Range of Trexler Nature Preserve. Conditions were chilly but mostly clear skies and light winds allowed the PGC to continue with the burn.
A prescribed fire, or prescribed burn, is an organized, coordinated effort that works to apply fire at the right place, at the right time, and at the right intensity to improve the health and resilience of forests, grasslands and shrublands.
Approximately 100 acres were planned to be burned, but conditions during the afternoon changed and humidity increased, causing the burn to be halted. Multiple crews from the PGC as well as local fire departments were on scene.
Crews have been dispatched during the overnight hours for a reported wild fire in the burn zone.

Right, yep, exactly, you get it! They're using a drip torch to direct the fuel (energy) onto the overgrowth to thin it out. Definitely a directed energy weapon!
