Father and son are accused with starting the Caldor Fire that destroyed the town of Grizzly Flats and threatened Lake Tahoe causing a massive evacuation.
A warrant for reckless arson has been issued for David Scott Smith and his son Travis Shane Smith.

Funny they charge 2 , but they let a lightning fire burn for over a month and let it grow 🧐 🤦♂️
My wife and i spent the last 9 years in Grizzly Flats, Ca. This fire broke our hearts. While we're about to move to another state and start our lives over again, this scar will remain in our hearts. I love our neighbors we had up there on that mountain. It was a great little community that looked out after each other. Where ever you all go, I wish you peace and love. You're in my hearts, always.

Why aren’t the tops of the trees not burnt? Weird fire!
That’s typical and the natural behavior of wildfires and the trees that have adapted to the presence of wildfires in nature.
When humans interfere and stop all wildfires from occurring, underbrush and other fuel build up in the forest which causes the fire to burn hotter and longer which can overcome a tree’s natural fire resistance. Then, when humans are unable to stop the fires in these heavy fuel forests the forest has a higher chance of burning to the ground rather than leaving trees behind like the natural system normally does

The trees had the lower limbs removed to prevent it from acting like a ladder to climb into the crown.
That's man doing that with a chain saw not nature having limbs fall off.

My most favorite student lived there with her mom, stepdad and 9 dogs and two cats. She told me that she used to own 30 acres of property. She too lost her home :’(

The trees look fabulous and it's interesting to see that the mandmade structures are gone. Letting the area return to nature's embrace would be a gift.

Umm, most of those trees are dead. They just didn’t fall over. It happens a lot with forest fires.
