- In today's episode, we bring you on a mesmerizing hike in Zermatt, Switzerland. We took the 5 lakes hike and got some incredible views of the Matterhorn, the world's most photographed mountain (for good reason!).

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time. We began our Switzerland trip in Zürich, and then headed to Liechtenstein, St. Moritz, the Glacier Express, Zermatt (which is this video, of course), Interlaken, Bern, Lucerne, and others! We had an amazing (but pricey!) time🇨🇭

I will never forget the feeling of seeing the Alps for the first time. I just stood there with an open mouth and wet eyes and i couldnt process what i saw, it was truly mindblowing. A few Bike tours later, i still get goosebumps when im on top of a mountain in the alps. It just never gets old :)

Being a young adult living in switzerland. What i would recommend most is too do a mountainridge hike. Meaning that throughout the whole hike you would have a 360 degrees panoramic view. If your intrested id be glad to help with one of the best ones. ( i hope) 😅

It's funny seeing the fascination tourists have with the Matterhorn😂Me being from Switzerland... seeing the Matterhorn: "Well, it's just another mountain... i guess"😂

I am also from Switzerland but this mountain makes me feel different as usually when I see it, the Matterhorn is just so imposing and majestic 😍

@@Moloch2024 I love nature. I even work in and with nature daily. I hike a lot. If work allows me to, I hike at least 3-4 times a month. Which is probably why I think the Matterhorn isn't that special. I've seen and been on so many different peaks and mountain tops, that are just as beautiful, if not more beautiful than the Matterhorn and I don't even have to pay 100 swiss francs for a cable car to see those....

if you still got some spare time on your hands, I'd recommend you visit the Engadin valley in Graubünden (like take a train ride through it or something similar) or the Creux du Van in the French speaking part of Switzerland. :)

I went to Switzerland in 2007 and it was magical. I went late September into early October, so it was in between the seasons. Zermatt was stunning! There was more snow than what you had with your trip, and the town looked so pretty. I didn't know about the 5 lake hike! How?? I am so bummed I didn't get to do that. I definitely want to go back to Switzerland because it is like a post card is real at every turn.
Its soo cool to see you guys enjoy Zermatt. I actually live there since forever. Its really crazy to see you two walking through my hometown and seeing all the places I see everyday. :))

Nice! I'm happy for you to eventually see the Matterhorn in its full glory. I go there pretty much every year for 1-2 weeks and the WOW factor never fades. Too bad the ticket to the Klein Matterhorn aka "Glacier Paradise" is so freaking expensive (I totally understand you didn't go there - or Gornergrat) - but the view up there at 3900m is out of this world (in good weather condition). THERE you ARE in heaven. Btw. Migros is pronounced without the s ;)

I have been to Zermatt with my mom as a kid, because that's where she and my uncle went to school But I have not been there since. I wish now I had gone there instead of Lugano/Morcote back in 2018 when I was there. I totally agree with you, the vegan food selection in those stores in Germany and Switzerland is amazing !! I miss that here in the US. Oscar's dance, though.... Show us more !!!! Yayyyyy Oscar !!!

You should go see Samnaun (taxfree zone) . My favourite spot.
And a tip as a person that likes to hike in switzerland: always check the surroundings of the stream because if there are cows or goats or sth similar in the area it can be possible that the water contains urin and stuff because of the animals.

Great that you also used the cable cars and went on a hike. It would be a shame to only visit the Swiss cities. Even outside the Alps there are such beautiful places (for example in the Jura).

Migros and coop prices are the same by law throughout Switzerland, whether you are in Zurich, Geneva, Zermatt, Bern or Lugano...
