First time I rode this was on Grad Night June 1, 1995. At that time it was the most amazing thing that I've ever been on. And to this day I'm still amazed at how they made this attraction. It really stood the test of time. And it's funny that not a single person waiting in line in this video is holding a cell phone. I miss those days so much.
I agree. The dialogue, the way the doorways physically moved so it really felt like you were entering a different room, and the way they toned down the roughness of the ride and fire effects, and lost the falling rocks effect entirely. :( Still an incredible ride, but I miss when it was really at it's peak.
@@Ricoxemani unfortunately, it will never get fixed. The company that made the mechanism is no longer around, which is why they have the new system that uses a projection.
For those who didn’t know when ur headed towards the gates of doom the story is that ur actually being carried by Mara which if pay attention the Jeep’s movement simulate u flying. The reason I’m saying is because there was an effect that was so awesome. If u look closely at the gates of doom u can see the light behind the doors go out simulating as if indy closed the doors and directly after that the car would suddenly fall down a bit which is y it suddenly dropped down a bit. That was simulating how Mara had lost control of the car when Indy closed the gates. It’s an amazing detail which sadly is no longer in the ride. U can still feel the sudden drop of the car but the gates continue to glow with Indy no longer closing it.
I love seeing these old videos from when the ride first opened. I got to ride in myself in 1995 and it blew my mind. Still does, in fact. So awesome that you can see the falling rocks effect at 4:02 that stopped working all too soon after the ride premiered. I distinctly remember it, and wish it still worked. They REALLY dimmed down on the tourist statements that Indy makes. It's like they thought people would be more offended in today's world or something. I forgot about some of the dialogue that has since changed. Lately it's felt like somethings were missing. A lot of the original dialogue seems so much stronger than it does today.
@@1ROCKET- At the time I wrote the comment, I had an annual pass to Disneyland and went fairly often and as often as I could on Indy. Each and every time I went on the ride, I didn't hear Indiana say things like his "tourists" statements. I've never heared what Sallah says at the beginning and I don't think they have it or what Mara says in this video probably because of how the entrance into the temple has changed so much. One time on the ride, probably months after I wrote the comment, I finally heard Indy make the "tourist" statement and I was excited! So cool it. I didn't know. I even mentioned in the comment how "it's FELT like [some things] were missing" giving a benefit of a doubt.
@@1ROCKET- I know, right? A month or more...probably more once I heard it that first time after...years of going to Disneyland, I heard it more often the next few times I was on the ride after that, too. It's like Disney knows... :-O
