  • First we pull some huge cypress tree stumps out with our old Fiat 45-66 tractor and a heavy chain. Then the mammoth task of cutting and stacking the stumps into a pile ready for burning. Watch out for our next video on the subsequent inferno!

You guys did a great job of cleaning the dirt off the stumps before burning them. That effort shows up briefly a couple of times. In stump fires I've set up, the soil around the roots that I could not remove prevented airflow and turned into something as hard as brick when heated by the fire.

Oh wow, that's crazy! We tried to remove as much as we could as we figured it would stop the roots burning, but hadn't considered the soil getting hard when fired!

This must be one of the few vids on TH-cam that cover this topic in a totally honest way! As someone who has removed a lot of stumps in his time I can tell you that many of these vids look fake , I suspect that the stump is first dug out and then replanted to be ripped out in front of the camera using just a car jack operated by as school kid or something . As your film makes clear it’s just not that easy. you have to overcome not just the weight of the stump ,which would be relatively easy , but also sever all those massive roots which usually go down into the soil at something like 45 degrees and are what makes the task such a challenge and are what other vids on this topic usually fail to show

Yes, we've watched quite a few of those videos and wonder why it always looks so easy! We are actually in the middle of pulling out quite a few more stumps from the driveway and these ones are far harder to remove - one took us quite a few days by itself. But no matter what we try it just seems that you need to put in the hard work to get them out - no magic wand here!

Hi guys, I'm enjoying your vids. A suggestion, if I may? Weld a bracket with a hook to the back of your loader bucket, below where the hydraulic ram is attached. This allows you to easily fasten a chain for lifting a load. Also, then your load will be centralised, making for safer driving.

Nice work, but get that loader bucket down, it's only a tip-over liability up there. Better yet, fill it with logs or rocks to hold your front end down giving your front axle more traction.
